Turtle Bay GOGO Sushi

We’ve been here a couple of times and will continue to go back. The portions are huge so the value is great. I would probably give the food a 4.5/5 as it’s good but there are some strange choices in the menu. The tuna/salmon donburi comes with red and green peppers, Avocado, cucumber and was good but is not typical when compared to other restaurants. The fish was cut small and felt like I was eating scraps. The tempura and teriyaki dishes are always excellent. Very clean washrooms. Cold beer, decent wine pour. Pleasant staff, good atmosphere.

Very pleasant dining experience. Super friendly staff, and the Gogo roll was surprisingly tasty. Definitely going to have to come back for it again!

Disgusting Experience with wrong order. This review does not even deserve a 1 star.

I recently ordered a deep fried dynamite roll, but instead received a deep fried California roll. My daughter ate 2 pieces before noticing the mistake. When I called to inform them of the mix up, I was told that they didn’t have the item I ordered and it was on a secret menu. This was frustrating because they should have notified me at the time of the order instead of assuming I would accept the wrong one. They said they repeated back the order and if they did I would have corrected it but they did not.

To make matters worse, they asked me to bring the remaining pieces back, which I did with like 6 pieces left. However, rather than disposing it in front of me, the food was left on the counter which raises concerns for me. Why ask to return the food if they are not going to discard it right in front of me.

They did apologize and gave me the correct order and waived the cost of the more expensive roll. But they have to improve their process as it was highly stressful to defend myself when I called to let them know the order was wrong and my conversation with them felt like I don’t know what I ordered. If they were not sure of my order to begin with they should have clarified.

Absolutely delicious food, the interior is really well made, chill jazz cafe type music is often played inside which is a great touch. The takeout orders are handled with care. The staff is also very welcoming and kind.

I would recommend people to stop by for a visit if they have the chance.

Saying this as a student from a nearby university who ate here often for almost a year and tried pretty much everything on the menu, it's all great food.

P.S. the Salmon roll paired with a hot dish like yakisoba or yakiudon is a great meal that is very affordable for the amount of food you get (great for students).

Stopped through to pick up something quick to take on the road. The staff were super friendly and called goodbye to me as I left and the sushi was delicious and clearly labeled gf on each container which made me feel comfortable letting me know I was getting something safe for me.
