Don’t be fooled by the bland/dated decor; Gourmet food awaits! Locally sourced, sophisticated menu, expertly plated, and affordable priced. I enjoyed the pork chop on polenta with pan fried brussels sprouts/long green beans/squash with an apple cider reduction sauce, hubby savoured the braised brisket with Yorkshire pudding & garlic mash topped with a Demi-glaze, mom was wowed by the butternut squash risotto, and teen devoured the pulled pork poutine.

The plating of the food is higher than the most. The choices on the menu are more advanced than an average family restaurant. What makes Brick Alley Bistro stand out is the fact that the flavors are complex, simple ingredients, and unbelievable value. Where else can you get 8 oz salmon fillet with dill sauce and a skewer of five prawns on tricolored nugget potatoes with fresh vegetables and service from staff that genuinely care for under $30? The irresistible part of the Brick Alley Bistro is the variety of homemade fresh desserts made in house. We're so used to having Frozen or canned or manufactured but here they genuinely make their desserts with love, attention, quality ingredients and most of all real sugar. You won't be disappointed with a trip to the Brick Alley Bistro nor will you regret becoming one of the family. It's not the fact that they're small little restaurant; it's the fact that the same people keep coming back over and over again and that you can order custom food for catering and custom cakes for any occasion at a reasonable price that are made from scratch.

Food 2/5. Service 4/5. Ambiance 3/5. The ratings are based on what it is for what you expect. If you’re expecting a Michelin star? 1/5 all around. But set the bar at an average height, it gets an average mark. The overall rating of 4.5/5 is preposterous. It’s nowhere near a 90% restaurant. The 4.5 could be explained by any number of things but likely by the “does this hurt” doctor analogy. You know the one. Exaggeration. Someone goes to the doctor with a sore toe. Doctor says on a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being the worst pain you can imagine, how much does this toe hurt? People say - 8. Worst pain you can imagine? Being burned alive. That’s a 10. And the stubbed toe is an 8? No, actually it isn’t. It’s a 1. If 10 is burned alive, then even if you can walk yourself to the doctor you’re no worse than a 3. So, if the best food you can imagine within the culinary range of this establishment is a 5, is this a 4.5? Not even close. It’s a 2. On a good day. And most restaurants are. That’s just the way it goes.

Exceptional food. Had the pork special and my wife the premium Mac and Cheese. Good portions , great flavour. The chef is not scared of sharing a little of his skill and personality in his food.. Really quite enjoyable.

We went for dinner last night and had Rebecca's "Special of the day" which happened to be "Mediterranean Salad". I had it and it was AMAZING! I really hope she includes that on her regular menu. My other half had the pistachio crusted salmon and he commented on the way out that was THE best salmon he has had!! Brick Alley is our go to place. The food is cooked FOR you, not nuked or thawed out. GOOD meal takes time to create. We unfortunately witnessed a very rude table of four get up and scurry out of the restaurant using the back door, avoiding the kitchen and register. They followed a large table of 8 youngish people leave as 1 young lady paid their bill. We thought we actually saw a "Dine and dash"! The server saw them get into their baby blue Mercedes SUV, and went out to speak to them. The rude "not youngish" couple said they "waited too long" and "saw you serve a couple outside before we got OUR meal.". That part was very true! There was a special needs person with obvious issues and her phenominal caregiver who came and sat outside on the patio in the corner. Jesse told the rude individuals in their Mercedes their food was plated and ready but they refused to come back in, and drove off. NOW....we all see on the news restaurants EVERYWHERE are short staffed thanks to 2 years with Covid, even ferries aren't running due to being short staffed. I just shake my head.....sense of entitlement maybe.......kinda sad!

What a great little restaurant. We had driven by it a number of times and I wondered what it would be like. We found out last week! It is great! The fish cakes were amazing and very nicely presented as well. We enjoyed and shared the house salad. It was one of the best I have ever tasted. Many are pretty plain jane, but this one was all dressed up with pumpkin seeds. Yum. Great little place to stop by in Aldergrove!

The food was tasty, very small portions, not a lot of options, only place I have eaten that charged me $1.75 for the lemon in my water ... after inquiring about it they told me it was because it is organic ... like seriously $1.75 for one wedge in a glass of water
