I was in with my grandson in the evening and the absolute kindest woman named Ivy accommodated us. I have never had such beautiful service, great dim sum that they made in the evening despite not usually having it. And she interacted with my grandson in such a beautiful way. Everyone should run to this place for dinner, and hopefully you have the pleasure of being served by Ivy! Thank you so very much!

I have to point out the bad experience right away. When a restaurant blatantly neglects to inform their customers that they charge you for water/tea, that normally comes with every table free. Now I don’t care that I had to pay for it if that’s what they want. But at least have the decency to inform your customers that you do this.Anyway my daughter was raving about how good the food was at Empire. We went and chose the combination specials. It was really good. But the service sucked. No one really came to your table to see how our experience was. When we were presented with the bill and debit machine. The server had already punched in the total of our bill without me seeing the bill. She left as I was inspecting and discovered that we were charged for tea/water. Keep in mind that tea was already served when we sat at our table. We did not ask for it but had to ask for water. I was honestly confused that I was charged for water/tea. Anyway she said after I asked why the bill was not presented to me and the machine was on top of the bill cover so I wouldn’t see the bill. It just seemed unprofessional for a business to conduct themselves in this way.On principle because of shady tactics, I will not be eating at Empire. The food was good. Service not so much.

Food is good but service can be improved. I think they'll shouldn't clean up the table while customers are still there. It's utterly rude IMO. They could wait after customers left the table. It's not busy last Friday night.

Empire is a bit far from us so we've only ordered by Skip twice in the last 14 months. Last night's order was a wreck - on a Friday night!! perhaps it was because we ordered so so early - 5 pm.We got 5 dishes including curried prawns and vegetables which was actually very enjoyable. However, our chicken chow mien was burnt and because I use that as a bed upon which to place other items, it contaminated the whole plate. I first though it was the beef and broccoli that was ruined but I then narrowed it down. I'm glad I had my hot and sour soup first because the burnt chow mein sat on my palate for a very long time and ruined the rest of my meal. Then there was the Bbq Duck. I ordered a half duck. It arrived so incredibly overcooked and dried out that it was barely edible and in fact, totally inedible on some pieces. I suspect that because we ordered so early, I think we got a duck that was left over from the night (or more) before and then re-fired for our order. It was useless and unenjoyable. The beef and broccoli was tasty but broccoli slightly overdone which sucked for reheating the next morning because it went to mush like I've never had in past before.I paid the extra $5 to upgrade to a small seafood hot and sour soup for $15. there were no prawns nor seafood portions, at best I got the occasional small shrimp on my spoon. But at least they weren't rubbery and overcooked, they were added at last minute as should be.in all this was a $200 skip order with taxes, fees and $7 driver tip for him getting on the highway to Tynehead.Empire Garden was my alternative to Lee Yuen but they will never again get another cent from me after this $200 disaster.

Great service, delicious food, definitely try the crispy salt & pepper tofu (it’s called something like that, I forget exactly) it’s absolutely incredible! I’ve never had anything like it. No booths though, if that’s your thing. Still an awesome meetup spot. I’m totally craving that tofu now, it’s soooo flavourful!! :)

I have been coming here since the original owners! Prices are high compared to most Chinese restaurants . They need to be consistent and quality to reflect these prices. Only place I get my take out from. Dining in is always better if you can.

Best chinese food in the area. Dim sum is great also.

First time to this restaurant, nice decor. We had dim sum which I found a bit pricey as some of the dihes were not of the same quality I get in my own community restaurant.

Food is a hit and miss here. One time will be excellent and the next visit terrible. It’s also a bit pricey. Service is absolutely horrendous everytime.

This review is only for takeout because I have not yet been inside of the restaurant. We had a heavy craving for Chinese food and this restaurant in the area was also offering free delivery within the designated kilometres (I can't remember lol). We had ordered the fried rice, house, special, chow mein with crispy noodles and the sizzling beef hot pot. We found the portions and prices relative to what is on the market, and the food came in a quick manner. The delivery lady was very nice and I would order from here again.

Worst experience. When I entered restaurant with my family, waitress had dirty look and was angry. Originally said everything was reserved and tried to seat us near kitchen and where they folded the napkins. Was told to wait outside. We noticed that three other family’s/couples came in and were greeted very kindly and seated right away. When we got the table we wanted, we were told we had to leave in an hour as the table was reserved. So we left (waitress was shocked) and went to a different restaurant. FYI: we were the only coloured people in the restaurant who were customers. Wish I could give this place zero stars. This is why I would rather eat at home.

Service and quality really gone down! Manager sat in the corner and was on his phone the entire time. Ordered a pork dish and found a HUGE pile of spinach HIDDEN underneath. Manager refused to come talk to us and just continued to play on his phone.

Food came fast and freshly prepared. The place was full but servers definitely knew what they were doing. One of our dishes was missed and without a question, they immediately brought it out ten minutes later with an apology. The ordering system for dim sum can be a bit confusing since not all items on the written menu are also on the picture menu. Otherwise, the servers are always ready to answer questions.Kid friendly, choices for western and authentic Chinese palates. Loved it!
