Wonderful food, unexpected neighbourhood but clean and friendly. I suggest getting the Reuben and baklava, then eat half the sandwich with the dessert, and save the other half for later!
It’s an average deli famous for their Montreal meat sandwich. I didn’t know cost could be this high compared to other types of sandwiches in the Vancouver bakery & cafe. Anyway, it was worth the experience but I guess won’t be coming back anytime soon.
Great Montreal food. The coleslaw was best I've had in years.
Been coming here for years and Loved it...its not what it used to be. The smoked meat is not as tasty as it used to be...something was off this time and there is hardly any fat on it making it too lean and unedible. Especially when we asked for fatty specifically and not medium or lean. The Fries were also a huge disappointment....they were good but literally in microscopic pieces not full length fries like before. Who wants to eat little pieces or chunks of fries?
I have heard from friends that the food here is delicious so my husband and I decided to try it. We have only been here in the past to buy lunch meat and their salad dressing which is excellent. I had a ham and fake Swiss cheese panini which was not very good at all, no flavor and the panini was over toasted, very hard and crunchy. My husband has the veggie breakfast panini which he said was very good save for the over toasted panini. I guess I just made a poor choice but I was very disappointed considering the excellent reviews from friends.
Best around! Rubin is a favorite for me
The sandwiches are fantastic.
Nice spot! Tough spot to find parking around lunch time though. The cafe itself was clean and small and bright.
If you like Montreal smoked meat and sauerkraut, don't miss it! Friendly staff, quick service. Excellent quality sandwich. By the time you're done eating it, you're full, but you still want another!
You want to have a regular sized sandwich with a pickle (they charge) and no other sides, and give a bare minimum tip, you're looking at upwards of $20. A bit pricey for a sideless sandwich. I know that's just how it is now, but throwing in a soup or a light salad would be better. To be fair, the pickle was really good!
Strikes me as a beloved local institution.
Bravo Estrella!
Very nice and cozy local sandwich soup restaurant
Well I had a sandwich, it had massive amount of meat, I was asked if I wanted a pickle, I got half of one, Added a drink, bill was just short of $30.00, seems extremely expensive for a deli sandwich, pickle and drink, no fries. The sandwich was very good, the really expensive pickle was good. I'm on the fence whether it was worth $30.00 for a lunch sandwich. If you want a decent sandwich and don't care about spending $30.00 then definitely check it out.

We really missed Montreal smoked meats and this place wow, amazing smoked meats sandwich! So delicious just liked we used to eat in Montreal. Really friendly customer service, clean and organized. Reasonable price. We all were so satisfied with everything we ordered so will definitely go back. Highly recommended!
Smoke meat sandwiches were amazing and very similar to when I was in Montreal. A word of advice make the poutines better and the servings a lot bigger. I only got a couple fries and a few little pieces of cheese on mine and I paid 10 bucks. In Montreal, they are layered with generous portions of cheese and fresh home-cut fries.
Excellent food!!! Excellent personable delivery to my work meeting, everyone was impressed and loved your wonderful food. We will certainly order again, thank you!Sharon thank you for your time and speedy delivery, and also to listening to my what I was needing, to all your staff thank you as well!!
Ordered the Classic sandwich on a brioche bun and toasted with added sauerkraut. Fantastic! Loved this sandwich, wish it was closer to Vancouver. Fresh and perfect in every way with the Dijon. My only complaint is that it doesn’t come with a pickle, it’s additional.
Absolutely incredible spot! Estrella’s Montreal Deli serves the best Montreal smoked meat we’ve ever had—tender, juicy, and full of flavor. What made our visit even more special was how accommodating they were. We follow a keto diet and brought our own keto toast bread. The staff was incredibly kind and went above and beyond by preparing our sandwiches using our bread without hesitation. It’s rare to find such amazing food and thoughtful service in one place. Highly recommend for anyone craving authentic smoked meat with a side of genuine hospitality!
