This establishment offers steak and music.
This seems to be a more economical option against most steak house.
However, the quality of the food has regrettably declined recently. There was one time I was there when they served lamb, which I found quite impressive, but just before it was my turn, it was replaced with pork meatballs.
I inquired with the waiter if there would be more, and he informed me that was all.
Is it truly an all-you-can-eat experience? I almost wish I had not seen the menu.
Oh yeah the Basa fish steak is ABUNDANT lol

Came with my grandma for the brunch buffet and we both enjoyed it. Good food for a very reasonable price. Would try again.

Mr.A's Patio contential buffet was a culinary pinnacle.
Michelin quality entrees, I loved the savoury Tandoori lamb, it was to die for.
The succulent Teriyaki chicken, rich poached salmon and legendary Prime rib were shining stars at the contential Sunday dinner buffet !
The potato roasties were thee best I have ever noshed( and I have noshed a ton ).
The fresh salads, fruit and charcuterie was a nice tasty touch. The decadent and classic desserts offered guranteed sweet satisfaction.
The varieties of chocolate were copious, well worth the extra steps and cardio.
I have dined on the standatds of the C.I.A., and Micheal Rioux and this was seriously on the same level. Kanishka, the busser and the host were outstanding and very attentive and did a superb job of looking after the patrons, so refreshing to be on the receiving end of ppl who dig their gig and strive to do their best job with pride and warmth. Back to the scrumtiousness,...the
fresh ingredients, prepared with attention, detail and culinary skill and textbook standards are solely why Mr.A's patio buffets are the stuff of foodie gr8ness!

3 stars at best. And that's just for the service and food.
Service was good, food was decent.
However, this establishment is so outdated and old.
First of all, the age demographic they seem to be leaning into is crazy to me. With the ambiance, music and look I would think an older crowd might like the atmosphere here but the stairs are so steep to get up there. The music played was 80s rock. They could use a few dehumidifiers, it was extremely damp in the restaurant, the wooden tables and chairs were so wet and sticky. The upholstery on the chairs is straight out of the 80s, old and worn out. Carpet is old and gross. The stage is carpeted and carried up the wall behind it. No keno or games. They had 4 servers on shift doing the absolute bare minimum. And there was 1 other table besides ours for a total of 4 guests. When we were leaving one other table of 2 arrived.
Highly suggest to the owner invest some money and update the place, it is desprate for a facelift. At the very least get rid of the carpet and change the chairs out with new ones. The buffet downstairs at newlands was busy, but the pub was dead on a Friday at 6pm. Pretty pricey for a place this old and grungy. Oh and the menus are crumpled paper, at least laminate them. You can tell this place hasn't been touched in likely 2 or 3 decades.

Good place, good food. Sometimes food quality may vary, but overall good place and affordable
Very nice atmosphere.
It’s sad to see such a big event there tonight and you left one waiter to handle over 50 people in attendance for a birthday celebration . Service for drinks and food was terrible - over 40 minutes just to place order ! And your chairs all seem to be falling apart rips and tares all over the uplostery - it’s like management doesn’t even care about how the place looks and they certainly don’t care about their staff ! That poor waiter :(
Great food and service!
Went for the Nutcracker Luncheon with a reduced menu. It was nice but not to the normal Newlands calibre... Gluten free, for example was marked on hot food, but there was no meat that was gluten free (so I had potatoes and mixed vegetable medley) but couldn't have the salmon or the turkey w gravy and dressing.
