I adore this spot. The food is fabulous - the setting is the truly serene. I recommend sitting outside in the garden area and booking around sunset.

After a thrilling visit to Skookumchuck Narrows and a long trekking day, we stumbled upon La Trattoria Italiana on Ruby Lake. The spaghetti with clams, mussels, and prawns in white wine and garlic tomato sauce was perfection! The cozy atmosphere, beautiful lake views, and top-notch service made it a perfect way to unwind. 5 stars isn't enough – we'd give it 10 stars if we could. Highly recommend!

Had a great dinner at La Trattoria! The vibe was super relaxed and comfortable—perfect for a chill night out. The staff were all amazing, especially Tom at the reception who made us feel really welcome right from the start.
Service was spot-on the whole time, and the food was exactly what you'd hope for from a good Italian place. Everything just felt easy and enjoyable.
Definitely recommending this place to anyone looking for tasty Italian food and great service. Will 100% be back!

Great food, great staff and great atmosphere.
Had a lovely romantic dinner in the garden, beautiful view and good food (the wild boar was a bit dry though)

Setting was beautiful and service was fine although slow. How ever my meal ( Aldo’s Special - smoked salmon pasta) was really awful - way too salty.

Friendly and warm welcome from hostess and Manager. Both went out of their way to accommodate our party of 4. Visiting from England and Tanya made it extra special for us all! Server Jesse made our evening enjoyable and compliments to the chef for incredible pasta dishes! Seafood platter so flavourful, main dishes, One with Gamberi prawns, one with clams and the bolognese! All so delicious! Thank you!

We ate at this restaurant during a long weekend, it was really packed so the service was a bit slow. But man, the food was worth the wait for the most part! I recommend chosing a fish option, both the appetizer and the entree were delicious, my husband instead got a mushroom pasta and it was tasty but nothing super fancy, we could have replicate that easily at home. Same with the tiramisu, the consistency was not the correct one and was not very tasty. Overall I would come back again, they are also pet friendly (if you eat outside) which is very much appreciated. I know prices seems high but you have to consider you are really in the middle of nowhere, if you want to eat well and have italian products it's already expensive in Vancouver, how can it not be here?

Last time we were there, they give us a table outside. It was nice, but I felt cold. The host didn't even ask us if we like the outside table or inside. Otherwise, food was delicious.

Disappointing Experience – Overpriced and Underwhelming
We had high hopes for this spot given the location, but unfortunately, everything fell flat. The drinks were incredibly watered down — the Sangria and Aperol Spritz tasted like flavored water, and even the rosé was off. The focaccia was dense and tasted like it had been sitting out for a while, with old-tasting oil to match.
For mains, we ordered the mushroom pasta, a fish dish, and the chicken — all were bland and unremarkable. Nothing stood out, especially not for the price.
They asked us to move our reservation earlier due to a slow night, which we were fine with, but when we arrived, the server seemed overwhelmed and the service felt disorganized.
Spending nearly $400 for a group of six felt incredibly disappointing. The food and drinks didn’t come close to justifying the cost. The only redeeming feature was the view of the pond and bridge — lovely, but not enough to bring us back.
A must visit for a treat on the Sunshine coast! Definitely call in for a reservation as they are only open certain days for limited hours. I both appreciate the limited hours and its exclusivity, and wish it was open more often.
Cute little place, unfortunately closed on Canada Day 😭
We came in with a larger group (9) with no reservation and they were very kind to be able to accommodate us and told us service would be a bit slower this evening. We said that was okay but unfortunately I didn’t expect it would be as slow as it was. It took over an hour before the first half of our table got food then another 45 minutes until the second half of our table got food. No explanations or apologies, just said the food would be up soon when the first half of the food came, but then that was 45 minutes. The drinks were great, the food was ok. Sadly wont be returning , we wanted to love it
