Not great food. I had Halibut Bites and I’m sure they were the boxed frozen type - fishy tasting. My husband had the full piece of halibut, which was better but still mediocre at best. The bill was over $50 for this disappointing fare. I would not recommend stopping here unless you have to.

Easy drive from Victoria with the best views and food. Check out the menu, there is something for everyone to enjoy. This is our third visit in as many weeks and have been satisfied with each of our meals and visits here. Good portion sizes, good food and a large balcony to enjoy the fresh air. Locally owned and operated.

We ordered take out and the lady who took our order came back to ask us a few times what we ordered since she didn't write it down. We did not realize until we got home that the curry was missing shrimp. The curry comes with the choice of a protein and we chose shrimp. I called the restaurant and the same lady said it wasn't noted down so the kitchen didn't add it. She was hesitant to admit that the the item comes with protein and that I was charged for it. No apologies nothing. I asked for compensation and she said I can come in to the restaurant for a $6 refund on the shrimp, which I didn't have time to do as I was travelling. All in all very unprofessional. Food was good though.

I love the Malahat Chalet!! The food is fast and delicious. It sides a bit on the pub food kind of side with a bit of Indian flair. We are big fans of the spinach curry, the fish tacos, the veal cutlet dinner, the brownies, the fish and chips and the halibut burger. All is VERY delicious with SPECTACULAR views. It blows my mind that I see this restaurant empty a lot of the time. Its a gem forsure and it needs some recognition. They have just freshly renovated the entire restaurant, revamped the menu, and the also have offsides and road snacks available. Its a wonderful place. Absolutely killer patio and pretty decent parking. It over looks the Malahat inlet. I think you will be pleasantly surprised. Prices are midrange. Its definitely kid friendly, and I believe they allow pets on the patio. Definitely a great stop when you are making a trip up island. I also think they need a brunch menu for the weekends. That's why they lost a star. Also, a star lost for the pure confusion when I placed my last take out order. The staff needs to communicate with eachother more effectively.

And service was absolutely minimal. Doesn't restaurants train their employees before putting on the floor to serve? Smiles would be nice too!

Best view in the city. Swift and kind service and decent coffee. My only complaint is I should have ordered hot sauce with my burger, but my taste buds are mostly dead anyways. Recommend, will come back soon!
