“We had dinner at Alpina Restaurant at Villa Eyrie Resort and were completely captivated by the breathtaking panoramic views of Saanich Inlet, framed by rolling mountains, lush greenery, and endless blue skies. Between the spectacular scenery and the outstanding cuisine, it was hard to decide which was more memorable!

We began with the rye sourdough bread, served with whipped butter and an apricot-cardamom butter. It was a simple yet elegant combination that we had never experienced before and absolutely loved.

For our mains, we enjoyed a roasted rainbow carrot salad with greens, feta, grains, and other flavorful toppings that made every bite delicious. The pesto pasta, finished with candied pistachios and a generous burrata, was an incredible combination of creamy, nutty, and herbaceous flavors. The seared tuna was perfectly cooked and served with fresh greens, while the grilled lingcod was flaky, moist, and delicately flavored, accompanied by tender beans cooked with tomatoes and other delicious ingredients.

Dessert was equally memorable. The **Les Rochers** was a rich, decadent chocolate pastry, while the **Tarte aux Myrtilles** featured a crisp tart shell filled with berry compote, topped with fresh blueberries and dollops of berry cream. The highlight, however, was the pistachio tiramisu. Our server assembled it tableside using ladyfingers, coffee, whipped cream, pistachios, chocolate, and other ingredients, turning dessert into a fun experience. The portion was enormous and easily enough for our family of four to share.

Outstanding food, impeccable service, and one of the most spectacular dining views on Vancouver Island made this a truly unforgettable experience. Highly recommended.”

“We were there for dinner and had chicken lababdar and lamb vindaloo with some heat, along with rice and garlic naan. Both meals were delicious and had a good amout of heat (both milder and hotter options were available). The service was attentive and very friendly with our server taking time to discuss options. Staff (owner?) and our server both asked how our food was. All in all it was an excellent and pleasant meal. I will definitely go back.”

The ambience was also lovely, warm, welcoming, and perfect for spending quality time with family. A big compliment to their staff Rose, who took such great care of us throughout our visit. “My wife and visit the gardens each summer and usually treat ourselves to the high tea. This year we felt the sandwiches were a bit bland and it appeared the menu was unchanged from 2025. Service was pretty good although the tea was not as hot as it could have been. Enjoyed the garden view from the outside terrace but be aware there can be wasps. Expensive for what you get but it is a nice treat!”

“We arrived for high tea to celebrate my friends birthday. Seated at a perfect table on the patio over looking the Italian gardens. Our server was lovely. Kept us informed of all of the delightful offerings. We are so grateful to live near this world renowned garden. The high tea did not disappoint from the presentation to the flavours. All of us were so pleased. We will return with more friends and tell everyone about our fabulous afternoon. A stroll in the gardens after topped it off to be a fantastic day.”

“I eat Steve’s Pokes at least twice a week. I have not found a better Poke bowl out there. This includes my regular business trips to Honolulu. The blend of fish, vegetables, tobiko and Ginger are a delicious and filling meal all while being good for your health.”

“.🥲Normally have an ok experience. Today though had the Austin Benny andwas very disappointed. When they state porkbelly and you get shaved roast porkbelly that is not seasoned and because it is thinner than their bacon super chewy and distracts from the other flavours of the dish which are okay. If they rubbed it and braised the belly and cut proper thick slices for porkbelly it would do the oppisite and add to the dish 🥲.”

Explaining the homemade take home Enchiladas and other amazing looking Mexican food. (Which ones he preferred) I lost my bank card couple days ago and only had cash was a dollar short for the bill and get said no problem... Let me take the Enchiladas and the Tamale anyway. I felt bad cause I wanted to leave a tip.. I will be returning tomorrow to give the well deserved tip and the dollar I was short.
