“We arrived for high tea to celebrate my friends birthday. Seated at a perfect table on the patio over looking the Italian gardens. Our server was lovely. Kept us informed of all of the delightful offerings. We are so grateful to live near this world renowned garden. The high tea did not disappoint from the presentation to the flavours. All of us were so pleased. We will return with more friends and tell everyone about our fabulous afternoon. A stroll in the gardens after topped it off to be a fantastic day.”

“Tried the Steak & Bacon sandwich at Subway and it was excellent. The steak was flavorful and tender, the bacon added a nice smoky crunch, and everything was made fresh. The portion size was satisfying and the ingredients worked really well together. Definitely one of the better options on the menu if you’re looking for something filling and tasty. I would order it again!”

“We had dinner at Alpina Restaurant at Villa Eyrie Resort and were completely captivated by the breathtaking panoramic views of Saanich Inlet, framed by rolling mountains, lush greenery, and endless blue skies. Between the spectacular scenery and the outstanding cuisine, it was hard to decide which was more memorable!

We began with the rye sourdough bread, served with whipped butter and an apricot-cardamom butter. It was a simple yet elegant combination that we had never experienced before and absolutely loved.

For our mains, we enjoyed a roasted rainbow carrot salad with greens, feta, grains, and other flavorful toppings that made every bite delicious. The pesto pasta, finished with candied pistachios and a generous burrata, was an incredible combination of creamy, nutty, and herbaceous flavors. The seared tuna was perfectly cooked and served with fresh greens, while the grilled lingcod was flaky, moist, and delicately flavored, accompanied by tender beans cooked with tomatoes and other delicious ingredients.

Dessert was equally memorable. The **Les Rochers** was a rich, decadent chocolate pastry, while the **Tarte aux Myrtilles** featured a crisp tart shell filled with berry compote, topped with fresh blueberries and dollops of berry cream. The highlight, however, was the pistachio tiramisu. Our server assembled it tableside using ladyfingers, coffee, whipped cream, pistachios, chocolate, and other ingredients, turning dessert into a fun experience. The portion was enormous and easily enough for our family of four to share.

Outstanding food, impeccable service, and one of the most spectacular dining views on Vancouver Island made this a truly unforgettable experience. Highly recommended.”

“Came here at just after 4pm today on a whim. Clearly we hadn’t checked their opening time ahead of our visit and when we rolled up it was closing. However as we were planning our next move their finance guys happened to be leaving and asked if we would like to be servers some whiskey and beer. Of course we said yes! He opened everything back up for us and proceeded to served some samples and a tasting flight. Then he gave us a little tour of the back. Clearly MacAloney’s finance guy cares about the bottom line because we bought a few bottles. But more than that he cares about service and keeping customers happy. What a great afternoon and what a great place! Oh and their whiskey is fantastic too.”

Restaurant is large - it has great ambience, the layout provides a personal and intimate feeling despite there being many tables. The food is superb, we plan on returning to make our way through the great menu. It is the best place we have eaten at in Canada for food, service and ambience. We highly recommend the seafood tower as a way to taste through some of the menu. The grilled octopus rivalled what we have eaten in Italy. The pork belly was cooked to perfection. The wine list is extensive and expertly curated.”

“We were there for dinner and had chicken lababdar and lamb vindaloo with some heat, along with rice and garlic naan. Both meals were delicious and had a good amout of heat (both milder and hotter options were available). The service was attentive and very friendly with our server taking time to discuss options. Staff (owner?) and our server both asked how our food was. All in all it was an excellent and pleasant meal. I will definitely go back.”

“Everything was so good. Their fresh wasabi is a must try! Our total came to $250 for 2 adults and one child. Their pictured menu does not do justice for the actual food display! The food was a bit pricier than other sushi restaurants we been to, but the quality, display and taste is top notch!”
