“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Such a gem! Five and Dime Diner in Sidney is an absolute must. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by the friendliest hostess (I sadly didn’t catch her name, but she was so welcoming), and the atmosphere instantly felt warm, nostalgic, and just happy. Our server Chelsea was the cutest vibe ever! She fit the place perfectly. Super friendly, personable, and made the whole experience feel really personal and relaxed. You can tell when someone genuinely enjoys what they do, and it shows. The food? Banging. Great prices and seriously delicious. I had a roasted chicken wrap with tzatziki and a bunch of fresh veggies, plus a side salad, and it was SO good. Fresh, flavourful, and filling without being heavy. And the little details?? Instead of the usual mint at the end, they give you a piece of retro bubble gum. Such a fun, nostalgic touch that totally fits the diner’s vibe. Overall, the food, the service, the atmosphere....everything was amazing. I can’t wait to come back. Five and Dime Diner is one of those places that just makes you feel good. 💕 Thanks everyone!”

“I just checked out this new little brewery in Sidney for the first time, and happened to try the freshly tapped Strawberry Shortcake Sour, which honestly had the best and strongest strawberry flavour I’ve ever tasted in a beer! It was so good I had to take home a Crowler. With plenty of beer and cider options on tap, a selection of local snacks, board games, events, and the option to bring in takeout from elsewhere, this place is definitely worth a visit. It’s clear that they value fostering relationships with other local businesses, and are already making a positive impact on the Sidney community.”

“Delicious food prepared in Cheffy’s own kitchen, good selection of British food, very convenient when cooking isn’t an option, great variety, inexpensive (the fewer visits to the supermarket, the more the savings), the menu changes each week and friendly, helpful staff. Hint: Their delicious scones, with a different variety every week, are very popular and sell out quickly, so it’s a good idea to order them early in the week. 🥮”

“Four of us gals shared a dinner for four $73.00 so that’s less than $20.00 each! The portions were generous and the food was hot and just kept coming until the table was filled with plates! We started with a very hot spring roll that was a pleasant surprise as it was crunchy inside with crunchy carrot slivers, instead of the often soggy interiors. The dinner for 4 included sweet and sour pork which was delicious and tender, deep fried prawns, and again very tender and plenty to share, then a noodle chow mein and a vegetable and chicken dish followed by a giant plate of excellent fried rice. It was all hot and flavourful and there was ample food for 4 of us. It looks like it’s a mom and pop shop and both were friendly and funny. The service was quick and everything very fresh.
Two of us added a Chinese beer that brought our totals up but it was a warm day and worth it! Good choice if you are in Sydney looking for a reasonably priced meal. There were plenty of other dishes on the menu plus we were offered fresh spot prawns for about $30.00. Mmmm Sorry, I forgot to take photos but it was typical Chinese but plenty of it!”

“I am the General Manager of a retirement home in Victoria and one of my residents had above and beyond service when her car ran out of gas in your drive through the following is written by her and posted on her behalf: I love the DQ in Sidney, I've known Barb & Gwen for several years and wept when we lost lovely Gwen not long ago. Today after placing my lunch order with my friend Barb I drove around till I was 3rd in line for her window, and instead of idling I turned my engine off and discovered it would not start - I was out of gas! As I am handicapped and dependent on the use of a walker, I put on the flashers and very soon had offers of pushing me out of the way. A uniformed DQ employee came to help, which resulted in him dashing away and returning with a full jerrycan of gas which he immediately emptied into my gas tank. My lunch was even delivered to me in my car so that I could enjoy my food while still hot. Thank you sincerely DQ for your fabulous staff who truly care for your customers. J. Anne Langille”
