“Our recent weekend getaway to Pender Island was made absolutely perfect because of WOODS on Pender. We ended up coming here every single day of our trip because everything they do is just incredible. The entire environment is so calming and relaxing, truly was exactly the kind of intentional, serene atmosphere you want when you’re trying to escape the city and recharge!!!

The highlight for me was, without a doubt, the Beetroot Latte. Not only was the presentation stunning (literally topped with a fresh flower!), but it was easily the best I’ve ever had. I am still dreaming about that latte and the amazing greens salad I had. You can tell the ingredients are pulled straight from their greenhouse; everything tasted so vibrant and fresh. It’s the kind of quality you just don't find everywhere.

We also treated ourselves to their pastries, and the house made Cinnamon Bun and Apple Galette were both 10/10. Beyond the food and drink, the experience was elevated by the owners. They were so kind and genuinely welcoming, which just added to the perfect vacation vibe. The space itself is gorgeous with large seating areas and a beautiful outdoor deck, and it's clear they put so much heart into this business. I honestly can’t wait to go back!”

“The menu is very limited. We had breakfast lunch and dinner there one day since we were staying at the resort. All the meals were good except the dressing on the Pender salad was bland. The salmon was very good as was the Beef burger. Also didn’t care for the popcorn.”

The view and ambiance is just stunning and we all agreed we felt so lucky to have Bella as our server!! She helped everyone select an amazing meal, suggested terrific wine and was friendly and attentive, beyond lovely actually, and made such a great impression on us all ~ we will definitely be back and will definitely be requesting her section! “We went for dinner as a group of five, and everyone was raving about their meal. My husband and I shared a platter, and all I can say is—it was absolutely delicious. The platter was beautifully presented with rice, julienned vegetables, pickled onions, and our three choices of protein: Laotian ribs, tofu, and chicken souvlaki. Every single item was fantastic, but the chicken really stood out—it was incredibly tender. The Caesar salad was included as part of the social platter, and we were asked if we wanted it served for sharing—which worked out perfectly, as there was more than enough for all five of us. I don’t usually order Caesar salad anymore since I make a pretty good one myself, but this one easily tops the list as the best I’ve had. Service, as always, was friendly and efficient.”

From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by the friendliest hostess (I sadly didn’t catch her name, but she was so welcoming), and the atmosphere instantly felt warm, nostalgic, and just happy. Our server Chelsea was the cutest vibe ever! She fit the place perfectly. Super friendly, personable, and made the whole experience feel really personal and relaxed. You can tell when someone genuinely enjoys what they do, and it shows. The food? Banging. Great prices and seriously delicious. I had a roasted chicken wrap with tzatziki and a bunch of fresh veggies, plus a side salad, and it was SO good. Fresh, flavourful, and filling without being heavy. And the little details?? Instead of the usual mint at the end, they give you a piece of retro bubble gum. Such a fun, nostalgic touch that totally fits the diner’s vibe. Overall, the food, the service, the atmosphere....everything was amazing. I can’t wait to come back. Five and Dime Diner is one of those places that just makes you feel good. 💕 Thanks everyone!”

“Have had sandwiches and baking during the day before and all was wonderful. The porchetta sandwich was ahmazeballs. Finally got in for dinner tonight. Absolutely top shelf experience. The service was attentive, knowledgeable and subtle. I had the ling cod croquette appetizer: texture super smooth and the pickle sauce was perfect. For a main I had the rolled turkey with rhubarb, fiddle heads and turnip. Beautiful plating and the dish was delicious. The rhubarb was very subtle and tender and turkey was juicy and flavourful. Desert was the brûlée tart with rhubarb sorbet. Again delicious. If only we lived closer this would become a frequent special event restaurant. 100 percent, you should try it. If you are heading to the ferry, try and take the time to sample this hidden gem.”
