“Coffee + Kitchen at WOODS on Pender is hands-down my favourite spot on the island. Their croissants are flaky and buttery, the quiche is perfectly rich, and the macarons are a delightful treat — clearly made with real care. The coffee is excellent, and the personal service makes every visit feel special. They have gluten free and vegetarian options too.

The atmosphere is amazing — stylish, modern-rustic decor with great music playing in the background. It’s the kind of place you want to linger in with a coffee and pastry. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Pender Island!”

“The menu is very limited. We had breakfast lunch and dinner there one day since we were staying at the resort. All the meals were good except the dressing on the Pender salad was bland. The salmon was very good as was the Beef burger. Also didn’t care for the popcorn.”

“We were a table of 9 ladies on the terrace tonight celebrating our friendship and a birthday on an annual girls’s trip and we were blown away by our experience! The view and ambiance is just stunning and we all agreed we felt so lucky to have Bella as our server!! She helped everyone select an amazing meal, suggested terrific wine and was friendly and attentive, beyond lovely actually, and made such a great impression on us all ~ we will definitely be back and will definitely be requesting her section! “We went for dinner as a group of five, and everyone was raving about their meal. My husband and I shared a platter, and all I can say is—it was absolutely delicious. The platter was beautifully presented with rice, julienned vegetables, pickled onions, and our three choices of protein: Laotian ribs, tofu, and chicken souvlaki. Every single item was fantastic, but the chicken really stood out—it was incredibly tender. The Caesar salad was included as part of the social platter, and we were asked if we wanted it served for sharing—which worked out perfectly, as there was more than enough for all five of us. I don’t usually order Caesar salad anymore since I make a pretty good one myself, but this one easily tops the list as the best I’ve had. Service, as always, was friendly and efficient.”

From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by the friendliest hostess (I sadly didn’t catch her name, but she was so welcoming), and the atmosphere instantly felt warm, nostalgic, and just happy. Our server Chelsea was the cutest vibe ever! She fit the place perfectly. Super friendly, personable, and made the whole experience feel really personal and relaxed. You can tell when someone genuinely enjoys what they do, and it shows. The food? Banging. Great prices and seriously delicious. I had a roasted chicken wrap with tzatziki and a bunch of fresh veggies, plus a side salad, and it was SO good. Fresh, flavourful, and filling without being heavy. And the little details?? Instead of the usual mint at the end, they give you a piece of retro bubble gum. Such a fun, nostalgic touch that totally fits the diner’s vibe. Overall, the food, the service, the atmosphere....everything was amazing. I can’t wait to come back. Five and Dime Diner is one of those places that just makes you feel good. 💕 Thanks everyone!”

“Have had sandwiches and baking during the day before and all was wonderful. The porchetta sandwich was ahmazeballs. Finally got in for dinner tonight. Absolutely top shelf experience. The service was attentive, knowledgeable and subtle. I had the ling cod croquette appetizer: texture super smooth and the pickle sauce was perfect. For a main I had the rolled turkey with rhubarb, fiddle heads and turnip. Beautiful plating and the dish was delicious. The rhubarb was very subtle and tender and turkey was juicy and flavourful. Desert was the brûlée tart with rhubarb sorbet. Again delicious. If only we lived closer this would become a frequent special event restaurant. 100 percent, you should try it. If you are heading to the ferry, try and take the time to sample this hidden gem.”

“I just checked out this new little brewery in Sidney for the first time, and happened to try the freshly tapped Strawberry Shortcake Sour, which honestly had the best and strongest strawberry flavour I’ve ever tasted in a beer! It was so good I had to take home a Crowler. With plenty of beer and cider options on tap, a selection of local snacks, board games, events, and the option to bring in takeout from elsewhere, this place is definitely worth a visit. It’s clear that they value fostering relationships with other local businesses, and are already making a positive impact on the Sidney community.”
