“The coziest loveliest cafe I’ve been to! The owner and the barista are so nice and make sure you feel at home. All the bakery items are made by the owner’s wife and are the best I’ve ever had! I highly recommend going here if you go to the island it’s a must visit.I’m an Indian and have had dosas all my life and their dosas are definitely one of the best I’ve had.Vegetarian options: Their dosa is vegetarian”
“omfg the breaky burger hasn't changed and it's fricken amazing dam! been craving it for a while live in abby so don't get anything like it out there! so when I come bak to pender this is a must for me! thanks Josh”
“Beyond exceptional. Awesome coffee, best house made pastries. The cinnamon bun is otherworldly, so delicious. We enjoyed a wonderful, fresh salad. Vibrant, crunchy, and a light, refreshing dressing. Followed by the Salmon pizza which was a ten out of ten. I really enjoyed the burger, perfect. The last day they were sold out ofthe cinnamon buns”
“We got the mussels and frites for an appetizer and it was quite delightful. For the main, we had the special: prime rib with mashed potato’s and Yorkshire pudding- also very tasteful with lots of flavour. The next day we went and got the seafood spaghettini- it was also pretty good, weak garlic bread thoAll in all, I recommend going here!”
“We dropped in for lunch and had the mussels & frites and chicken wings - they were both delicious. The mussels were super fresh and the fries were some of the best I've had in a while. Fantastic, friendly service as well! Will definitely be back.”
“Visiting from Toronto after a friend brought back delicious biscotti from her trip to Victoria. However upon arrival found the shop closed :-( . So sad to hear this. For future vistors this shop is closed.”
“Incredible food and service. Our server Renee(hope that’s spelled right) was knowledgeable about the menu and excellent. The food was the best Indian food I have ever eaten in Victoria. I recommend it all but particularly the fish pakora as a start and the lamb curry to follow. Wow! Thank you for an amazing experience all around.”
“Absolute best scones ANYWHERE and the staff are simply the best. It’s become a twice a week routine especially on weekends to enjoy the strawberry shortcake variety. Two thumbs up.”
“I travel often to the Gulf Islands, and remember this Bakery Cafe from when I lived on Galiano and happy its still going strong! Indeed, it is the ONLY place to go for coffee first thing in the morning (like 7 am which means the bakers clock in at 5 am ) ) except for drip coffee at the Garage There is always a line up , waiting for the OPEN sign to light up Inside it is basic, countertop seating, but incredible color photos of resident pods of Orcas are attractively displayed The staff is always smiling and friendly. I love their delicious Turkey sandwiches (day old only $4.50)and fresh Pain au chocolat that tastes tres francais and uses real butter and delicious chocolate fresh baked every morning and by the time I buy two and two coffees and walk to my friend Andrews, they are still warm Thanks Sturdies Bay Bakery Cafe I love you all the time but especially on a cold rainy day at 7 am when NOTHING else is open!CHRISTINA FERRERO YOU TUBE ARTIST LISTEN TO DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER AND NANOOSE BAY LULLABYE ONLINE”
“Stopped here on a whim with a friend. The atmosphere is very fun and the staff are super friendly. Food and prices were great! Would definitely come here again next time I’m in town.”
“Myself and my two friends were in Galiano and ate lunch at Babes. We had the blackened chicken quesadilla with rice and salad. We loved it - it was SO tasty!! Highly recommend!”
“Busy . Kinda loud .. fun placeParking: Small lot out front .the water store will not allow you to park in front of his store ..large parking on the east side . Lots of roomWheelchair accessibility: Wide side walk . Door is not powered . So a bit of a struggle on your own”
“Fun place to spend an afternoon enjoying a cold one or four. Good selection of beers with something for almost everyone. Nice location with seating scattered about throughout the forest and the parking lot for about 10 vehicles at the top of the drive.”
“I've been there a few times, heck I even have played music there and always found the place to be super special. Good food, good people and good times! If things go right, I may be back there June 15, 2024 to play again....fingers crossed.”
“I've eaten here since I was a kid. Same great flavour and same great taste. It's my treat every time I'm working in the Sidney area. ❤️❤️❤️”
“Mariners pizza is the best in sidney by far - great tasting and not very greasy, but the front end of their business and customer service could be better. Improved efficiencies and communication would make this a 6 star. Maybe they need a bigger kitchen?either way I highly recommend their pizza.”
“The Taco Salad on this menu is a tasty mix of fresh stuff like crunchy lettuce, seasoned ground beef, juicy tomatoes, and tangy salsa. All together, it makes a yummy dish.”
“had the Gino and the Bari..... amazing flavors, awesome and knowledgeable staff. overall a great experience that I will go out of my way for anytime I am in the South Island.”
“One of the best nasi gorangs I’ve had! I travelled Bali for 6 weeks last year and this place knocks spots off any restaurant in Indonesia. Amazing flavours. Get the peanut butter sauce too it’s great!”
“I'd give a 5 but they only provide cheap paper cups that smell and taste like cheap paper cups. The taste and smell of the cups ruins their good coffee. Great food, vibe, and workers!”
“BEST dogs anywhere! Served with a friendly smile. I like mine with sauerkraut & mustard. Right on Beacon Ave in Sidney. Love the walk up window. Don't miss this gem!”
“Delicious latte, fantastic ham & cheese croissant that was grilled up. Very low / no music made conversations possible without yelling. Really enjoyed the experience ?”
“It was my first time at Alexander's Coffee. Their customer service is great, the guy running the front is cheerful and happy to help. I ordered a chai and Alexander's best, and they were both amazing. Would go again!”
“Cute shop on Galiano with modern yet comfy atmosphere. Bathrooms very clean and there are 2!Menu has changed in this new location.Cyclist friendly as you can leave your bike outside and still see it. Nice patio.”
“The water is simply the best i ever had. I also bought a cooler plus heat and now i drink hot water which i never liked before. Get yours today you'll be glad you did. Mark knows his water too.”
“Excellent lemon pound cake. Great texture (light and moist) with a nice lemon aroma. Most important of all the pound cake has just the perfect amount of sugar and is not overly sweet.”
“Loved our evening at Pilgrimme. The food was delightful, well curated plates of hyper local flavors. We certainly did not leave hungry nor wanting. The service was fantastic and exactly as expected for a restaurant such as this. If you get the opportunity I would absolutely suggest going.”
“I just checked out this new little brewery in Sidney for the first time, and happened to try the freshly tapped Strawberry Shortcake Sour, which honestly had the best and strongest strawberry flavour I’ve ever tasted in a beer! It was so good I had to take home a Crowler. With plenty of beer and cider options on tap, a selection of local snacks, board games, events, and the option to bring in takeout from elsewhere, this place is definitely worth a visit. It’s clear that they value fostering relationships with other local businesses, and are already making a positive impact on the Sidney community.”
“I am a regular and usually happy customer of the Sidney Natural Food Store. However, I recently went in looking for some Bob's Rice Flour and was unwilling to purchase any from the bulk bins as people with diagnosed celiac disease are firmly advised not to do. One of the staff said that some people with celiac disease can get away with a little cross contamination whereas others with celiac disease say they shouldn't even get a crumb. She seemed sceptical that that small amount would be a problem. I attempted to educate her that no one with diagnosed celiac disease can health-wise afford to have any cross contamination-gluten intolerant people, yes, celiac people, definitely NO. She clearly did not believe me. As a resource person in a health store, this illuminates a serious lack of professional knowledge. I suggest that your staff spend some time on the Canadian Celiac Association website (celiac.ca) to learn and then provide accurate information to your customers.”
“This evening I enjoyed one of your to go entrees, Beef Stroganoff. It was the real deal. The beef was tender and plentiful, noodles perfectly done with peppers and root veggies adding the perfect crunch. Easily a generous amount for two, well done. I look forward to experiencing more flavours. An FYI if you’re reading this, I nuked mine, worked well.”
