We went for dinner as a group of five, and everyone was raving about their meal. My husband and I shared a platter, and all I can say is—it was absolutely delicious.
The platter was beautifully presented with rice, julienned vegetables, pickled onions, and our three choices of protein: Laotian ribs, tofu, and chicken souvlaki. Every single item was fantastic, but the chicken really stood out—it was incredibly tender.

The Montrose Local serves a variety of delicious dishes. The menu is so varied and the food is very flavourful. The restaurant offers a tasty burger with a nice pink center and caramelized onions. The falafel wrap and bowl are standout favorites, as are the pakoras and cookies. The Thai red curry rice bowl with prawns and chicken souvlaki rice bowl are also highly recommended. The Montrose Local also serves a Jerk Chicken bowl, which boasts an excellent blend of spices and a perfectly balanced heat. The wonton soup is also amazing and absolutely unreal. The chai is out of this world. The food was so incredible and delicious and filling. Diners can enjoy the charming outside area with its eclectic mix of furniture. The staff are super friendly and lovely, and the atmosphere is fun. The kitchen is gracious about substitutions and additions with no extra charge. The Montrose Local is a great dining spot on Mayne Island.
