“We went for dinner as a group of five, and everyone was raving about their meal. My husband and I shared a platter, and all I can say is—it was absolutely delicious. The platter was beautifully presented with rice, julienned vegetables, pickled onions, and our three choices of protein: Laotian ribs, tofu, and chicken souvlaki. Every single item was fantastic, but the chicken really stood out—it was incredibly tender. The Caesar salad was included as part of the social platter, and we were asked if we wanted it served for sharing—which worked out perfectly, as there was more than enough for all five of us. I don’t usually order Caesar salad anymore since I make a pretty good one myself, but this one easily tops the list as the best I’ve had. Service, as always, was friendly and efficient.”

“A great place to hang out, listen to live music, meditate on Saturday mornings (9:30am), see beautiful artwork or just enjoy the gorgeous view of Miner's Bay and Active Pass with a refreshing beverage. I definitely recommend checking out this local treasure!”

“Simply put, this has to be the best bakery I’ve stepped foot into in ages. The quality, craft, care and energy is palpable. Front staff were pleasant and efficient, back staff dialled and determined. Music blasting. Line moving. Chocolate chip cookie, morning bun, sausage roll, and ham sandwich were simple and perfectly executed. And the tomato basil drink was strangely delicious.

I was on Salt Spring for 4 hrs and am glad this was the one stop I made!

“Myself and my two friends were in Galiano and ate lunch at Babes. We had the blackened chicken quesadilla with rice and salad. We loved it - it was SO tasty!! Highly recommend!”

The only downside to this visit, is that I won't be able to have more and try their other delicious looking bakery items until I return to Salt Spring. Their staff were also amazing and very good on handwashing between duties. I highly recommended this bakery!”

“Coffee + Kitchen at WOODS on Pender is hands-down my favourite spot on the island. Their croissants are flaky and buttery, the quiche is perfectly rich, and the macarons are a delightful treat — clearly made with real care. The coffee is excellent, and the personal service makes every visit feel special. They have gluten free and vegetarian options too.

The atmosphere is amazing — stylish, modern-rustic decor with great music playing in the background. It’s the kind of place you want to linger in with a coffee and pastry. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Pender Island!”
