“Nice little brewery that is still a work in progress. They have some board games, indoor and outdoor seatings. No food menu. Most of the beers I've tried were great, hazy pale ale and dry porter were my favourites, I wasn't too found of their stout”

“We liked this cafe and the atmosphere. However, the portions are too small for a quite expensive price. When ordering a burger or handheld, you can choose for sites greens, Ceasars salad, or mixed salad, no fries! The Thai Curry was so small that it was a joke.”

“This is my favourite spot to eat on Saltspring I always have a hectic day there towing and I come in famished and they seat me right away and feed me real good. I'm not even a local and they welcome me and are glad to see me. Lots of parking, food is excellent, prices are fair. Highly recommended.”

“Having traveled extensively across both Western and Eastern countries, and sampled a vast array of cuisines, I was not prepared for the culinary surprise awaiting me at Francis Bread on Salt Spring Island, Canada. In a region where one might expect more conventional fare, the breakfast sandwich here stands out remarkably. The fusion of flavors, with a subtle Asian influence, elevates the dish, making it uniquely suited to the island’s eclectic culinary landscape. The balance of tastes is both unexpected and delightful, leaving a lasting impression in this often-overlooked corner of Canadian gastronomy.”

“Only giving 4 stars because the food wasn’t super amazing like everyone said it would be. Great for a little snack. Was hoping for a cinnamon bun, got a cinnamon twist which was pretty dry. Would recommend the quiche - very good. My boyfriend didn’t enjoy anything so it’s really hit or miss dependant on the type of person I think. Maybe go first thing in the morning for fresh baked goods!”

“I ordered a muffin and sadly it was overdone and dry and it didn’t even get finished.People told us to try out this bakery so it must be good! The others in our group said their item was good so maybe it was just a bad day to pick a muffin? Will def go back and try again next time over that way.”
“Amazing coffee, some of the friendliest and accommodating service on salt spring, cozy atmosphere, best banana bread, chai tea and gluten free treats. I love this place! :)”
“It doesn't matter which exotic rare food item I ask for, or which staff member I ask, they all know exactly where to find it.”

“Cute spot in an old heritage building, which I love—Salt Spring does a great job preserving its buildings character. The vibe here is cool, but the matcha was average. They only had oat milk instead of coconut milk, and the quality of the matcha wasn't great, so it didn’t have much flavor and was quite bitter. My drink tasted more like oat milk than anything else.
The server also over-poured my drink, causing it to spill, so I couldn’t put a lid on. When I asked if they could pour some out, they let me, but then ended up pouring away a large portion of my drink, which was a bit frustrating. Not the end of the world, as it was already a pretty big drink.”

“I love Salt spring Coffee, I drink it everyday at home. Stopped in to the cafe on my way to the ferry and I told the cashier that I wanted a coffee, muffin and a roasted veg egg white bite as I pointed to it in the display case. Somehow I didn’t realize how much my bill was when I tapped my card - and ended up waiting over 10 minutes for the girl to hand me a to-go container that had a full eggs Benedict meal with hash browns. I didn’t have time to return it as I was almost late for the ferry and checked my card later that was charged $34 for a meal that I didn’t order or eat. Im confused how the cashier misunderstood my order as I pointed to it in the display case and the full dine-in breakfast menu is in a completely different spot. I know it’s difficult with masks to understand people right now, so maybe training your staff to repeat the order if they are unsure because people have allergies and it’s so disappointing when you are commuting to work and don’t get to eat breakfast!! :(”

“Ideal spot for a quick coffee and lite bite. Service was quick. Tables needed cleaning, however, sign outside door warned customers that they were short staffed and if you were going to complain requested you submit a resume instead. Loved it!!”

“We went out to Auntie Pestos on Thursday night and took our friend from Toronto and another local friend. It was the first dinner out in 2 years and it felt soooo great to be out with our friends and having an amazing dinner! We all had the Seafood pasta with a starter of caeser salad ....everything was delicious as always. Auntie Pestos is our favourite restaurant on Salt Spring Island. The location as well with views out to the sea with the marina boats is so pretty. Its lovely to walk the boardwalk after your meal as well and the Grace Point square Galleries and Shops.”
“We had a delivery mishap (largely our own fault) that resulted in our burgers strewn all over the gravel road in front of our hotel. Uptown did us a solid and re-made our order and re-delivered it. Thanks for going the extra distance for a couple hungry bicyclists.”

“It was a pleasant surprise to find authentic okonomiyaki on Salt Spring Island! Google says they're closed on Sundays but we walked by the area to look at other food trucks and they were actually open on the Sunday (lucky us!) We got the Hiroshima style Okonomiyaki with noodles, the gyozas and I forgot the last dish but they were all really good! My husband and I missed asian food while on the island lol and this hit the spot for us.
The owner speaks minimal English. You order by filling out the paper form in front of the stand.
There was covered seating in the area so it was a a nice little spot for lunch before we caught the ferry back to Vancouver.”
