It's full of nuts, dates, coconut, fruit, oats, and everything in between. You need this cookie in your life. They hit the spot and easily the best on the island.Let me tell you about the last time I went here. I was hungry, some might famished. There was a breakfast bun available, but it was 16 dollars. And I don't eat a lot in the morning so that felt steep to me at the time. I looked in the window and saw a 10 dollar chicken pesto croissant. I chose that, since it was a little cheaper and I figured I'd only eat half. No. No sir. I ate that whole thing. It was one of the most delicious croissants I've ever tasted. The garlic butter was unreal. I could have drank it from a stray. Fresh and delicious.Don't sleep on the this place.“

“Because we are lucky enough to live in the beautiful Cowichan Valley we are at the Leeward Cafe on an almost weekly basis. The food is always scrumptious and the staff welcoming, friendly and courteous. We love the ambience of dining in the clean and cozy cafe but in fair weather we bring our own mugs, which the staff happily fill, and we sit on the quaint benches out back and enjoy the boats and birds. The Leeward Cafe and its sister business True Grain Bakery are delightful!“

Place looks great and welcoming as always, but with a great new food menu!We had a chai latte (it has always been our favourite go-to for the BEST chai lattes anywhere) and it tasted different. The new owners were super responsive to our feedback which is impressive. Looking forward to going back to try again.“
