“I can’t believe such amazing food and service comes out of this tiny unassuming roadside stand!!!!! Friendly faces, best burger on the peninsula and so fresh. Their own beef and perfectly cooked local bacon, I’m sure the produce is from their farm as you can taste each individual component. Congratulations and I’ll definitely be back with friends and family 🍷🥩❤️🙏👍“

“Fantastic service, with a smile. The Americano I had was as smooth as the cream I poured into it! No bitterness, and no biting aftertaste. They roast their own beans, so, unlike those American franchise places that burn the beans beyond recognition, these folks have mastered the fine art of crafting the perfect roast coffee bean.

Could change the name of that drink to a “Saanichtono”, to emphasize the localness of it all.

Bonus points for having a bike lock area!! I will be riding up here when winter ends. 🙂“

“Have had sandwiches and baking during the day before and all was wonderful. The porchetta sandwich was ahmazeballs. Finally got in for dinner tonight. Absolutely top shelf experience. The service was attentive, knowledgeable and subtle. I had the ling cod croquette appetizer: texture super smooth and the pickle sauce was perfect. For a main I had the rolled turkey with rhubarb, fiddle heads and turnip. Beautiful plating and the dish was delicious. The rhubarb was very subtle and tender and turkey was juicy and flavourful. Desert was the brûlée tart with rhubarb sorbet. Again delicious. If only we lived closer this would become a frequent special event restaurant. 100 percent, you should try it. If you are heading to the ferry, try and take the time to sample this hidden gem.“

“Christmas Buffet lunch was awesome this year, all hot items were very fresh and tasty, meats were moist and tender, vegetables tender crisp and salads crunchy in a good way! The desert table didn't disappoint either, with plum pudding leading the way and backed up with carrot cake, Naniamo bars and assorted cookies amount other things. Very nice indeed!“

“Cheaper than the cove and nice staff however there’s only like 1 lunch vegan option and sometimes they don’t have it - the hummus veggie wrap. I saw them trial another vegan option (like quinoa salad or something) but it didn’t appeal to me. Hopefully they can add some other tasty vegan options :) Daiya makes yummy vegan cheese (when warm) which can be an easy swap for noodles/lasagna… or a vegan sandwich option (ex. Roasted veggies, pesto, vegan cream cheese). Coconut oil, vegan butter, and/or vegan cream cheese could be an option to make the bagels vegan too!“

“The cafe in the UVic MacPherson Library has the usual light eats and coffee/tea menu. There’s actually a fairly wide selection of sandwiches and baked goods. The variety of Numi tea is nice; I like their teas. The sandwiches are all of the prepackaged variety, but I thought my smoked salmon bagel was pretty good given that. The only complaint was that the greens on it were a little past fresh, and the bagel was just cold and probably would’ve been better warm or at least room temp. The salmon thankfully was fresh enough. It tasted like it would’ve been a really good sandwich if it had been freshly made, and I honestly prefer that over a fresh but mediocre sandwich. Note that I was there on Sunday, so it’s possible the selection may be fresher during the week. I also got a vegan cherry brownie which was great, chewy and moist, not too sweet. For a little university cafeteria I thought it was pretty good.
There’s lots of seating here but it is a library, so lots of students studying made it pretty busy, and this was Sunday, so while I was able to get a table without struggle, I would imagine it would be harder on weekdays. It was, as far as I was aware, the only place open on campus on a Sunday midday besides Starbucks and dining halls.“

“I meant to post this review ages ago. I purchased an Americano at Fresh Cup over a year ago & I was struck by how courteous & professional the two employees were. They demonstrated real skill as they calmly filled a myriad of orders. They managed the volume well & worked together respectfully. I ordered an iced Americano & the barista made it perfectly (not too much water so it was a good, strong pour). These types of service sector jobs can be tough & I was impressed with their good work. The coffee was delicious too 👍“

“My friend and I went here for dinner today while waiting till it got dark out to see the Christmas lights in the gardens. It was our first time eating here and we loved it, the food was great we both had the burger and I had a Christmas Tree gingerbread cookie for dessert. I was satisfied with the service I received especially when I thought I had to pay for my meal at the end instead of at the beginning, so when I realized that when I saw the cashier, the staff behind the counter were really kind to let me set my tray down while I go back to my table to get my purse with my wallet and I didn't have to go back through the lineup to complete my order to do it so I was really happy. Overall food and customer service was great“

“I visit this Tim Hortons regularly and overall have a good experience. The staff are friendly and work quickly, especially during busy morning hours. My coffee is usually made correctly, and the drive-thru line moves efficiently. The location is convenient and clean most of the time. It’s a reliable spot for a quick breakfast or coffee run.“
