We stop by whenever we can for that delicious Cowichan Valley Ice Cream, or coffee. The kids love the chocolate milk and the bunnies in the seating area outside. We've always had great service and will be back on our way up island soon. Always looking forward to stopping by there! Can't recommend it enough!

The comments about theft are aimed at the previous owners! As of July 1 2024, Rusticana Ice Cream & Coffee are now operating at this location. The new owners are amazing and have completely renovated, as well as bringing in locally sourced products check it out!!
It just reopened with new owners, so I went in a couple days later to check it out. It looks totally different inside; very fresh and clean look. The patio/garden area is still beautiful and relaxing. I picked up pastries to go (they now get them fresh every morning from Hank’s in Duncan) and the lemon blueberry danish in particular was amazing. I’ll be back when I have time to sit outside and enjoy a drink too!
Dietary restrictions: Saw GF pastries available from Bake My Day; in the same case as regular pastries so maybe not celiac friendly depending on how careful you need to be, but I’ve had BMD’s stuff before (as a non-GF person) and it’s quite good.
Kid-friendliness: Decent-sized outdoor garden area with a covered section and tables/chairs; great for playing in the dry season.

So disappointed after hearing this place made kickass coffee! I had an iced coffee ($6.90 with tip) and had to take it back twice once for a bit of sweet and second because it did not have much coffee flavor...the additional shot was added but it just tasted like watered down instant coffee...I just had to leave it and walk away....will not be back!!

Stopped in for a coffee, everything was pretty quick, everything inside and out is gorgeous and my hot and cold coffee are absolutely perfect ?

We stopped there to grab a couple coffee drinks and food to go. We're headed from Victoria to Nanaimo. Got to Duncan and took my first drink of my almond milk vanilla latte - there is no coffee or vanilla in the drink. It's just warm milk. Pretty disappointed considering it's not cheap. On the plus side my husband's bagel was amazing and he's enjoying his cappuccino. Test your drink before you leave. Edit - maybe there is coffee in it? I just can't taste it. Hasn't woken me up at all.
