Bar Luna Reviews
I really wanted to like Bar Luna, food and restaurant looked really cool. Waiting 70 minutes for food from time of ordering is way too long. We might’ve had a few more drinks in that time if any one checked in on that either. The couple sat next to us at the bar said they’d been there with a group in the past that waited 2 hours for food.
Feeling blue? Bar Luna has the answer to all your woes, with tacos and handhelds of the food in a blanket variety, I had the al pastor pork tacos with their spiciest offerings of in house hot sauce (hot enough to melt the tastebuds right off your tongue!) washed down with the Blue Island Iced Tea (with edible candied orange slice!) Bar Luna offers an exceptional dining experience with wonderful service and incredible food. The menu features a few delicious vegetarian options, including the Raja taco, and clearly labeled gluten-free dishes, making it suitable for those with dietary restrictions. Highlights include the nachos, shrimp tacos, and churro fries, all of which are highly recommended. Many guests also enjoy the food, with some claiming it is the best in Nanaimo. The drinks are impressive too, with fresh ingredients like mango used in cocktails such as the mango margarita. Desserts are a real treat, especially the tres leches cake, which has been praised as the most amazing ever. The cozy and soulful atmosphere makes it a hidden gem in Nanaimo, and the friendly service ensures a warm welcome, even when arriving just before closing. Visitors often comment on the hearty and flavorful meals, like the burrito, which is described as the biggest and most satisfying in Vancouver. The lively environment sometimes features loud music and crowd noise, but the excellent food and quick service make it worthwhile. The restaurant is also known for its gluten-free options, with a separate fryer to ensure safe fries and battered fish. Overall, Bar Luna remains a favorite spot for great food, drinks, and a memorable experience.
