Tex-Mex Chain Surcheros Plans Four Locations in Columbia

South Carolina is about to get a new Tex-Mex player in the state, as Surcheros unveils plans to open four locations in the Columbia area over the next four years. The first location will launch in Forest Acres in November 2024.

This expansion into Columbia comes hot on the heels of the announced move into Tennessee. CEO of Surcheros Luke Christian shared his excitement: "This is a significant milestone for us as we continue to expand across the Southeast and strengthen our franchise network with partners who share our vision."

The face behind the new Columbia locations is Andrew Powell. He’s a food and beverage pro with over 20 years of experience who has done everything - from working at the five-star Palmer's Village Cafe in St. Simon's Island to managing massive catering events with Dining Innovations in Asheville.

"We chose to partner with Surcheros because of their commitment to using the freshest ingredients and their strong focus on community involvement,” he said. “We're eager to bring that same dedication to Columbia.”

Andrew and his wife were so taken with Columbia that they decided to call it home. "We have been welcomed with warmth and hospitality that we intend to reciprocate to these communities," he shared.

With 30 restaurants already operating in Georgia and Florida, Surcheros is no small fry. Moreover, they recently announced their bold plan to open 100 locations within the next five years, with 15 to 20 new Surcheros to launch in the next 10 to 18 months.
