We've been going to Maggie's for 2 years or more and no other fish and chips place comes even close to them. The owner’s are always friendly and work their butts off every day. We could all learn something from their work ethic and devotion to making this place great. I highly recommend Maggie's as not once have we been disappointed.

We have dined in here 4 times including tonight.I had oyster plate and husband had 2 cod plate.Delicious as always! My large pieces (5) oysters were very fresh and juicy. Husband’s cods were huge pieces and delicious according to him.This place is a gem. Maggie is friendly and very attentive about the quality of food. Sauces etc all made fresh daily. Highly recommend.Parking: Free parking in front of the restaurant. Plenty space, never had any problems.

So tasty. Called in a order a hour before closing and i figured id get the meh "we're closing soon" kinda food. Nah. This is wonderful. I live in the USA, come up to visit my husband. i get a fair amount of fish n chips at home so this isnt a revoew based on nothing being good around here and my standards being low. This is super tasty. The fries are good and the cod is great. Definitely coming back. Prices are VERY reasonable too. I usually pay 18$ USD (more) for good cod at my fav placeGot the cod bites btw, they realllllly filled this box full it cant even close! :D

This has to be one of the best places in Nanaimo to get fish. We got the 2 piece haddock meal each and it comes with a ton of fries, coleslaw and tartar sauce. The fish is perfectly crispy fish was cooked perfect fries were seriously like biting into fluffy clouds. The service was super friendly and all around great atmosphere. We decided to try here for Valentine’s Day and are so happy we did. The only thing I would suggest is for them to up the size of tartar sauce to the coleslaw container size because it’s so tasty you’ll want more. Absolutely if you are reading this you have to try it. It’s totally worth the price for some extremely fresh fish. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ the portion sizes are huge you can’t tell from the pic but there is a load of fries under the fish. I was so full after a piece and a half. I think ours may have been missing a lemon wedge based off everyone’s photos (ours didn’t have one ) . That would have been the perfect touch lol. Dang it.

What a great little place!! I’d never had battered salmon before, so I had to try it out. FANTASTIC!! Huge potions. I had debated getting a 3rd piece as I’m a big boy, but glad I didn’t. I was stuffed. I’m a trucker from Winnipeg, in town for the night and will not likely be back to Nanaimo for a long while, but when I get back, I’ll be eating here! What a sweet lady running the place! ? thank you for such a great experience!

I broke keto just to eat here. Absolutely spectacular fish and chips, loved it! Gluten free batter, house made tartar sauce and coleslaw. Coleslaw was too sweet for me though, gave it to my buddy. I had cod bites and 2 pieces of halibut!Dietary restrictions: Gluten free batter

The fish and chips was good with large portions of fish. The chowder was good but it needed a lot of salt. It was kind of bland. It had a lot of clams and clam shells in it though.I originally said it was pricey but I've removed that comment because we did get a lot of food for what we paid and we had a lot of left overs which I hadn't realized originally.

It's hard to understand why there are negative reviews for such good food and prices. Sorry, we ate all the food and forgot to take pictures.
