I came from Vancouver to explore the Old City Quarter, and when I arrived it was all closed and very quiet because of Thanksgiving. Most shops and cafés were closed, so I didn’t get to see much of the usual local vibe.
Still, I loved the heritage-style buildings and cozy streets — it feels like a place full of character. I can imagine it’s much livelier on regular days with the local boutiques and restaurants open. I’ll definitely come back another time to see...
Old City Quarter is such a charming part of Nanaimo with a unique vibe you don’t find everywhere. The area is filled with little shops, cafés, and restaurants, each offering something special and different from the big chains. Walking around feels relaxed and inviting, with heritage buildings adding to the character. It’s a great spot to browse, grab a coffee, or discover local treasures. Whether you’re a visitor or a local, Old City Quarter is definitely worth exploring...
Lots of little shops to visit. First, we went for breakfast at the Breakfast Nook, which really is such a great place and good meal. Then we went into Kitties and Cream to buy cat toys for Fancy and Awesome. They had cats in for adoption, so we played and petted the fur babies there. That was really a gun adventure.
