We got the Brisket Platter and the Mushroom Kalamari. So good! Also had the Spruce Tip IPA which is now our favorite beer ever.

I've had a couple of solid experiences with Rusted Rake. Their brewpub focuses on locally sourced ingredients which is great and skews towards a smaller more curated menu. Couple of minor complaints leaves it short of 5 stars mainly - lack of reservations makes it difficult to get in some times (it's good it is busy!), only having two bathroom stalls can lead to lineups and while the beer is reasonably priced and quite good, the food skews pricey. The chowder is great with a big portion while the gluten free vegan options were better now than they were last year (hummus is a good add). The main dining room is loud and buzzy but can be difficult for those who have trouble hearing. All in all a great add to the area!Vegetarian options: One main veg / vegan / gf main - the falafel - which is a solid option. Other smaller apps as well.

Imagine driving in to a gravel road. As you pull in you notice this place that looks like a farm. You are greeted and sat on the patio. You enjoy the golden hour, the orange sun as it getting ready to set. As you look into an empty acre of land. To who knows what they're growing on it. For that moment you leave your earthly worries behind and just enjoy the moment. The food surprisingly isn't outlandish in price for the quality as oppose to what you get in the mainland.

Absolutely love this place! The food, the beer and the service are all amazing. The Beef ends are a must try as an appetizer. The day we visited they had a great Beer & Burger special which was delicious and well above the typical burger. Can't wait to go back!Dietary restrictions: We had a great Gluten free Nanaimo bar which all of us enjoyed and wouldn't have guessed it to be gluten free.

Great little pub/ restaurant/ brewery. We were a party of 4 for a late lunch. We're seated right away. Place was about ⅓-½ full. Prompt service, excellent food and help with choosing beer and food. We all would recommend this place BUT...hard pass on the off sales. The beer is just OK but that is subjective but the cost for each 4 pack is $20 at the time of writting.Come for the service and food only...go to "Mt Arrowsmith brewing if you want good beer at a fair price.

First time and we ventured out during a busy time as full house, yet we found room at the bar. The atmosphere was bright, clean, and modernly rustic. The staff were welcoming and the brunch menu was incredible. I ordered the Smoked Salmon Bennys and my husband enjoyed the Chorizo bowl. Both of us thought the quality of the meal and draft brew pub feel made for a perfect date. We will be back. We left with a 4 pack of the Wandering Scotsman Spruce tip IPA. Fresh tasting and true to the label, like a walk in the forest! They were sold out of the Brisket so be there early if you do not want to miss out!

One of the best breweries I’ve been to in BC for quite some time. Tried both their oyster stout and the spruce tip IPA; both were great, but the latter has picked up awards for a reason!

Lovely spot, attentive and accommodating staff, great beer, excellent food. Couldn’t have asked for more! We showed up just after their last table was filled and the host managed to finagle a new table for the two of us to sit and avoid the wait. We had a kind server and we were blown away by the delicious beet slider duo that comes with a pile of pickles. 10/10!

From one business to another;-)Absolutely AMAZING! Hard working people. You can see the love! Being a restaurateur is a very difficult business to be in, staffing and prices of food increasing constantly it is tough to keep it going without worrying. The quality and care is present in each plate served. My Brisket…the best I’ve ever had the pleasure to enjoy! Great price!Highly recommend!Mark and Christian fromLe Brunch Café

I wrote a review 6 years ago that doesn't apply today. We enjoy the place, the food, the ambience, the setting, good quality grub, definitely worth a visit. inside is still a little noisy for us, although I see there has been some modifications on the ceiling to help with this. I think it's just us though, most people either don't notice or don't care, It's a busy place so it's bound to be.The deck area over looking the farm fields is a great touch and for us, seems less noisy. full of chit chat and laughter throughout so dont mind me! It's a great place. cheers!
