“I've had a couple of solid experiences with Rusted Rake. Their brewpub focuses on locally sourced ingredients which is great and skews towards a smaller more curated menu. Couple of minor complaints leaves it short of 5 stars mainly - lack of reservations makes it difficult to get in some times (it's good it is busy!), only having two bathroom stalls can lead to lineups and while the beer is reasonably priced and quite good, the food skews pricey. The chowder is great with a big portion while the gluten free vegan options were better now than they were last year (hummus is a good add). The main dining room is loud and buzzy but can be difficult for those who have trouble hearing. All in all a great add to the area!Vegetarian options: One main veg / vegan / gf main - the falafel - which is a solid option. Other smaller apps as well.”

Our delightful server, Rayelle made our experience fun and relaxing, and along with delicious, hot, well presented food, our first experience at the Pacific Moon Rising couldn't have been any better. We arrived around 4 pm and were pleasantly surprised by some "early bird specials". The prices are very reasonable and as Nanoose Bay locals we will be back!”

“First time there tonight July 1-2023to celebrate birthdays. Alley the owner was so gracious and had the best personality!! The food was absolutely delicious! We started with crab cakes they were so good! Then I had the seafood pasta the amount of scallops prawns was awesome they definitely weren't skimpy on the seafood and the presentation was great! Then the dessert we had a free birthday dessert which was the sticky date pudding with vanilla ice cream! The service was good, friendly, fast and the establishment was clean! Highly recommend this place ❤️”

“I'm so happy we found this place! Super cute inside. Bright, happy, colorful. The baker is friendly and fun. She helped us find the perfect goodies for our time in Parksville. We tried a lot, ha! Chocolate chip cookies, chocolate cheesecake, lemon curd cheesecake, cinnamon bun cheesecake, churro cheesecake, brownie bites, lemon cupcake, and I think that's it. Everything was spectacular. Great cheesecake texture and balanced flavors. The brownie was rich with a crunchy little crust. The cookies were buttery and filled with chocolate. Everything citrus struck the perfect balance of sweet and tart. AND, the owner gave us advice on things to see in town. We drove to Little Mountain and took a photo with the view and bakery treats. You will love this bakery!”

“Having had to go GF over 5 years ago, I never thought I’d ever be able to have fish and chips again. I nearly cried when I had the fish and chips at El Faro yesterday: they weren’t just good GF fish and chips, they were INCREDIBLE fish and chips FULL STOP!! The fish batter was light and crispy, and the chips weren’t greasy, everything was delicious. The woman taking our order was so kind and helpful, and we enjoyed our meal and the ambiance very much. Extra points because they support live music! We will definitely be back when we’re in the Parksville area.”

“Best freshly made food! We are hooked. Waitresses are always friendly and very fast! One waitress takes care of whole restaurant. Including takeout and are extremely efficient! We never wait more than 5 or so minutes for our meal. Spicey chicken stir-fry and wor wonton, Hot and sour soup are a few of our favorites! It's an older restaurant but very clean. We love going there and so do our out of town friends! Very reasonably priced with large portions!”

“This Xmas wasn't an option to cook Xmas dinner so we searched for an alternative. The Lantzville Pub was preparing Xmas dinner to take out. Decision was easy. It was one of the best Xmas dinners ever. Light and dark meat turkey, dressing, potatoes, brussel sprouts, carrots and squash along with gravy and cranberries. There was enough left over (for both of us) for turkey sandwiches for lunch today! We were told by one of the staff that the kitchen staff did the whole thing. They deserve a huge round of applause for all their work and good food. We visit this Pub fairly often so this is one more time that we will probably make it a point of visiting again. “Wow! Such an amazing experience ordering from Poppa's. We ordered for our hockey team and were so impressed. The owners were so accommodating to our large order so close to closing time which was so appreciated. Absolutely exceeded my expectations, and was one of the best take out pizzas we have ever had. If you are looking for pizza in Parksville look no further!”

“Fish & chips are never so fresh as the way they serve them here. Cannot get enough of it. And I love the crunchy coleslaw! The staff are very accomodating of my wheelchair and move furniture around so I can fit in without any problems. The very friendly staff are always happy and chatty even when its a takeout order, which comes out so hot that by the time I get up the hill and home its still hot and yummy. I enjoy seeing and hearing the families eating and laughing and joking with the staff. If you expect peace and quiet with your meal you better stay home because there is no avoiding the laughter of the customers and staff in our beautiful seaside town. Always a winner with the Brits who love their fish & chips!”
