“It was Easter weekend and we had no idea what we were going to do. So we went for a drive and my Girl, aka copilot was searching her phone for a place to stop for a snack and a beer. She came across Fern and Cedar, I asked if we were heading in their direction and as luck would have it we were minutes away. For a busy day, we were seated immediately...awesome.The Waite staff were wonderful, the beers were very tasty and the cheese burger and cod and chips were stellar. We shall return in summer and sit outside.”

“A friend and I had lunch there and enjoyed two wonderful and satisfying meals. My friend had the non vegetarian special (she chose butter chicken) and I had chicken tandoori. The latter was perfectly seasoned and cooked. My usual experience is that tandoori chicken can be a bit dry, but not here. It was fresh, tender and juicy! I had a taste of my friend’s butter chicken and found it delicious, though a tiny bit sweeter than I’m used to. Both portions were generous and the prices very reasonable.”

“We visited the island for the long weekend and stopped by Thai Smile for dinner on our first evening. Food and service were excellent. We’ll definitely be back if we are in the area again.”

“Sushi Hama is easily the best sushi I’ve had on the island. Since it has opened it has become a staple in the community and I can’t eat anywhere else. 10/10 recommend to anyone, wether you’re in town for a day or you’re local, it’ll become a favourite.”

“Ok, I got a kick out of the homey atmosphere. You may not agree. I felt like the place was cared for, maintained and menu organized by, and food prepared by, a couple or family who really loved the place.It was a busy night, but we were promptly seated and served, nice beer, and great food (schnitzel and desert). We are only visiting the area, but would love to come back.”

“Lefty's Parksville located in a busy strip mall next to a thrifty supermarket. This restaurant is quite busy. The decor is industrial style. The choices are one step over sport bar type of place. The staff is somewhat friendly and the service is quick. The host was great but the server was a bit rude. I guess they were hoping we were ordering lots to drink as they were disappointed when we ordered just water. The food, portions are pretty good. I ordered the Hipster sandwich which was pretty good. The fries also pretty good. Overall decent place”

“How could you ever have a better combination? Airplanes, friendly service and great food all in one place. Our go to place when we are in the area. I’m sure this will soon be #1 in Qualicum. The only hitch is that if you go, you may not get a table during peak hours. This place is busy because it’s good.”

“Stopped in after years of not going. Same old Gary's, pretty much a staple in qualicum. Friendly service, had the eggs Benny, was great w hashbrowns although 1 egg was over done but was promptly replaced to my satisfaction. Overall great hometown experience. Yes times are tough with inflation and staff issues but we all need to have a little more patience.”
