I just wanted to say, my girlfriend invited me for Thanksgiving dinner, of which was ordered from the shady rest restaurant, and I have to tell you it was absolutely wonderful. The dinner was everything you wanted within a Thanksgiving dinner. The flavours were wonderful. I will say your pumpkin pie was just perfect.The homemade cranberry sauce was tremendous, I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who prepared this meal to allow us to be able to enjoy a Thanksgiving dinner....read full review
Great selection of local stuff. Only place in the area I've found my favorite cider from Victoria, Sea cider. And cold!

Shady Rest | Restaurant & Pub offers stunning beachside views and delicious meals in a historic building with character. The menu features seafood and regular meal options, providing a casual dining experience. The friendly staff deliver good service, even during busy times. The prawn scampi ravioli and feature ling cod romesco were flavorful and well-presented. The halibut fish and chips are a highlight, known for being moist and lightly battered, while the French fries are crisp and light. There is also all-you-can-eat fish n chips on Saturdays. The food is surprisingly great, and the cheese bread has savory spice. The Seafood Shepherd’s Pie is very delicious. With a fantastic view of the water, especially at sunset, it is an ideal spot for a casual meal or a special date night. The atmosphere is relaxed, making it a great waterfront restaurant in a 5-star environment. Despite some comments on the Oceanside burger being bland and the fisherman’s pie being a bit watery, many guests plan to return and explore more of the menu, believing it will continue to improve.
