“We were looking for a place to hold a small gathering with family and friends to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. We LOVE Thalassa. So we asked Ooara if they would accommodate us!! And they did NOT disappoint us!! When we arrived, the room was all set up perfectly! We added a few personal touches and voila...perfection! We had appies to start, followed by a fluffy salad, and a wonderful ham and scalloped potatoes with fresh veggies ...all of which were wonderfully prepared and served to us! The portions were very generous! Throughout the evening they served wine, drinks, tea and coffee. And to top it all off, they served us a yummy “ anniversary” cake, fresh from the Bakery in Ladysmith!! I almost forgot to mention the exceptional view we enjoyed from our party...the ocean and golf course..what more could we ask for!! The chef and staff were so amazing and outdid themselves in delivering exactly what we wanted!! All in all, it was a perfect place to have our gathering. We all totally enjoyed ourselves. “Went for dinner for the first time on Dec 23 (other time was take out pizza...which was the best around). Made reservations for 4 for 4:30...greeted and seated right away. Awesome waiter...great service!!Meal came quickly and presented very nicely.....prices very reasonable.Would definitely go back again for the great selection.Cheers“
“Wild Culture Bakery recently provided the bread and desserts for our Christmas Eve dinner. Jean went out of her way to ensure we had our order when some of the ferries from the Lower Mainland were held up by weather. The whole grain sourdough was hearty and delicious, perfect for sharing around the table. We chose to slice it ourselves, but Wild Culture will also do this for you on request. The sourdough cinnamon bun was scrumptious. The lemon tart had just the right tanginess to sweetness ratio; the butter tart with raisins perfectly melted in your mouth; and the mince tart was so, so good. The pastry on these was so fresh, so deliciously crumbly … We’ll be returning to enjoy these fantastic baked goods served by the friendliest of staff whenever we’re in the area.
