Round 1 was a tasting: fantastic big reds, great atmosphere, great personalities, beautiful wines. We bought 2 bottles and they were perfect.

Round 2 was an attempted purchase: I learned the realties of high quality low volume vinting - they have staff that are specifically skilled at what they do and so wait times are to be expected. I bowed out out of my own nervousness.

Round 3 was the fact I could not forget the sunset, a bottle of V, and my wife and I enjoying time away from technology and being immersed in real, analog life. I revisited a purchase, and Megan was determined to show me what this small winery was all about. Service was fast, pointed, and no grudges held against me. I feel welcomed into the Van Westen orbit.

Lesson to be learned: never underestimate a group of quality focused people with a point to prove and a tiny chip on their shoulder, they will exceed expectations and crush your apprehensions.

Update: my order shipped, the packing list is perfectly accurate, and we are to expect it in a couple of days. Again, my previous apprehensions have been thoroughly smashed into obscurity.

Fantastic wine and wonderful service! Had a great experience! I have spent many summers living in the bench and this is without a doubt one of my favourite wineries.

Another great stop. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable, forgot to get his name but he was great! Their reds are definitely the best! Great blends of reds! It's a very simple winery on the Aikins Loop but very nice. Amazing stop!

Another great visit at Van Westen. So glad we’re members! Old school garage/shed tasting with amazing wines.

Wonderful recent visit to Van Westen Vineyards and a privilege to meet winegrower Rob. He and Mike hosted our guests from Australia and enthusiastically shared their in-depth knowledge and insights. No wonder they’ve earned so many awards!
An authentic tasting experience and must-stop location on the Naramata Bench.

Always a wonderful tasting experience at Van Westen. Excellent wines, especially if you are into reds. Maid back tasting atmosphere and friendly staff. Make sure you book your tasting to ensure you can get in, as they are a small operation so will not always have availability to accommodate walk ins - standard practice to ensure you get the experience you are looking for. 10/10, will keep coming back as long as they are here!

Mike was great! Awesome experience- great knowledge!!!

Awful experience. For a small business, turning customers away is completely poor management. I’ve been looking forward to this experience, but it went from this cool little business to a “we are too good for you” business.

Tom, our wine host, was laid-back, incredibly knowledgeable, and genuine. The wine was the best we had on the Bench – developed and delicious. We can't wait to take it back to Revelstoke to enjoy. If you're in Naramata, this vineyard and wine tasting is a must!

Really great experience. Of 6 vineyards we visited today, this winery by far had the best wine and were the most knowledgeable about their product. Bravo!

We did 4 wineries in the area and this was the favourite. Megan gave us a really nice tasting, plenty of info on the wine, winery and the region. The wine was also my favourite and we all got some Pinot Gris and the V red blend. My only regret is that I may not have bought enough wine.
