Ordered from here last night. Woman who took the call first complained that we wanted delivery. Called us again complaining she had not recieved the e-tranfer we sent within 5 minutes of ordering. While confirming the transfer, she says "make it snappy." Terrible customer service, consistenly very rude communication.Food is only mediocre. Basic indian style, nothing to make it stand out, and very small portions. 3 main dishes was not enough for 2 adults.

Small servings and not authentic Indian taste. Uncomfortable interactions with staff. No fresh food.

I have been to a lot of Indian restaurants around world. But I would suggest anyone who is trying Indian food for first time not to make a perception as it was horrible food

Fun Scoop

This is not your ideal indian restaurant. It won't satisfy your indian taste buds.Samosas were made in a fluffy bhatura crust instead of a regular crispy samosa crust.Curries were too sweet even though we told them we wanted them to be spicy.Naan's were more like tortilas i.e. frozen, not freshly made and not even cut into pieces. Drinks were ok.Portion size don't really matter as long as the food tastes good but we were disappointed with the taste for most food items.I won't be going back here again and I won't suggest this restaurant.

I’ve probably had 25+ dishes of palak paneer on multiple continents, and Baba’s has officially earned my #1 spot. It was INCREDIBLE!Anj, the owner, was so polite and friendly. I will be back here on my next visit to Nelson. Do yourself a favour and try the palak paneer ?

Really good Indian food. Flavours were amazing and the sauce was bang on. You could tell they made everything from scratch and it showed. Family run and they cared about what they served. Ate outside and really enjoyed the nice weather.

Went for lunch on the 29th of Jan. Was served tandoori chicken that had gone off and was rancid. Did not really notice til about halfway through dish because I was so hungry and the dish was so spicy. I informed the woman at the front. She accused me of trying to get the food for free and the chef was offended. He made the mistake of inviting to inspect his food. What I discover was a disgusting kitchen and food cooler where food was improperly stored and unmarked. The chicken was precooked, cold and rubbery and the container also stunk of rancid chicken. As a former sous chef, I was appalled and all they had were excuses and indignation.I go to a restaurant to have my food prepared fresh. Baba's fails as everything was reheated. And also disgusting was the Naan served in a basket with no liner.DO NOT EAT HERE until they fix these problems as you run a high risk of getting sick or worse.Because she accused me of trying to get the awful food for free, I paid them in full (no tip) and we left.Shameful display!

Baba's has excellent Indian food. It favourably compares to Vancouver/Surrey Indian restaurants. The lamb dishes are always a favourite for our family.

We've eaten at Baba's the last 2 times we were in Nelson and were not disappointed. I had the Chicken Mulligatawny soup and Ed had a couple of freshly made samosas. Both dishes were very tasty and the service was fast and friendly.

I wise I could give zero star. Very very disappointed. Worst Indian restaurant I have ever been to. I Ordered their Chicken dish which tastes like kadhi. And who put carrots in chicken? The portion is way less compare to what they charge for full dish. Also, Someone needs to tell them that they are supposed the cut the naan into pieces. I don’t even wanna go and try their other dishes. They definitely need to take classes to learn what actual Indian food taste like.Yes ,if you guys change the name of the restaurant to Baba’s cuisine, I’ll say nothing. That’s definitely not an Indian taste.I would never recommend this place to anyone.
