I had the most delicious cake at my friends house the other day from Cake Betty. It was so wonderful that I feel compelled to write a review. Today I went to Cake Betty with another friend who bought the most beautiful small cake for a birthday gift. The owner gave us each a cupcake to enjoy. It was the best cupcake I’ve ever eaten - white cake with butter icing and a little bit of caramel sauce. So delicate and satisfying - I could have eaten three of them :)The bakery is so cute - like a tiny bakery in London, or the West Village. A lovely historical building with a sweet little store front. Go to Cake Betty - you will not be disappointed:)

Went for a wedding consult and sampled those delish cupcakes. They are so good with flavor and yet not too sweet. A dangerous combination. I highly recommend getting some goodies when visiting Nelson from here.

I can call the shop, describe what I'm hoping for in a last minute pinch, leave them to pick it out. I pay over the horn via credit, send anyone to collect it. Without any asking, Cake Betty added personal touches to the dessert, creating a very personal and special experience when I actually goofed on my planning. 1000% customer service

Meadow from Cake Betty prepared three incredible cakes for our wedding. All 3 were beautiful, uniquely flavored, delicious with just the right amount of sweet. Can't say enough about the professional and friendly service provided by her and her team!

$250 on a cake that didn't last a 10min drive before it sunk in on itself.I made the mistake of ordering a cake here for my wedding in Winlaw. I didn't even care about flavor, just that it make it in one piece. It was a cake for a 40 person wedding, so not even that big. When I emailed the owner about the problem, they blamed the person who picked up the cake because they parked across the street, and said it was too hot of a day (it was over cast all day, and before the heatwave). They followed all instructions and had AC in the car etc, but the cake didn't have proper supports and wasn't even frozen for the drive. The owner said she didn't know it was going that far (30-40min drive), but she was told, I record all my phone calls. Every time I called she was extremely busy, so likely barely remembered other details. I told her over and over that I was relying on her expertise for our options. The wedding venue Hummingbird Farm (call and ask the owner Lana about this, she's the one who ended up saving the cake) who was hosting the wedding said they never saw such a thing happen to a cake in all their years hosting weddings. Total amateur hour. Also never got a proper invoice or receipt, just an email over a week after the deposit with plain text, no letter head. Totally unprofessional and I knew it was a red flag, but was hoping they were better at making cakes than running the office side of the business.So after they blamed the driver, I was told 'no refunds', even though the structure of the cake was their responsibility. To their credit, it tasted great, but it was a tasty pile of mush. Don't waste your money if you live more than 10 min away apparently.

We usually have good luck with these cakes, but this time my vision was not captured for this birthday cake unfortunately. This is the 4th one I've purchased ( for a big event ) the feed back from the guests were that it was dry :( ... everyone did say you delivered well on the flavor, but definitely more dry then what we were expecting for the big day, and compared to previous cakes we had got from here. Might of just been one off, will try again. cheers

Disappointed after all the great reviews I thought for sure this would be a hit. Walked in to the owner just starring at me saying nothing. I had to try to get help as I was looking for something specific but I felt like she was annoyed I was in her business trying to buy cupcakes? Very uncomfortable experience
