Friggin awesome indian cuisine. I haven't eaten indian food this good since I actually ate food in india. Stoked to see samosa chaat on the menu and vada pav.

BEST TAMIL FOOD I’ve had in BC. 10/10.
Everyone was so welcoming and kind. I have a lot of food sensitives/allergies now, and the chef was so good about asking what I couldn’t eat, and making me a delicious shrimp curry. I was BLOWN AWAY. I’m going to try and replicate it when I get back home. But somehow, I don’t think I’ll get close. I’m already sad that I’d have to drive 8 hours to have this food again. But 100% will be coming back. We had a group of 14, and I heard ZERO complaints. And we are pretty particular about our food. Twas Truly a Treat ♥️.

PS. I loved that the names of the dishes were in Tamil (written phonetically in English). IT MADE ME SO HAPPY 🙏🏾

The dosa was the best I have ever had and that includes places in Toronto. Service was top notch and they serve local beers on tap.

The samosas were also incredible.

Dosa and chutney were great. Kothu parotta was the best here. Biriyani was good.

Absolutely loved Kootenay Tamil Kitchen! Took two friends along to introduce them to authentic Tamil South Indian food, and this place did not disappoint , the food was absolutely delicious. The owner/ Chef and the server did a fantastic job and made us feel so welcome. Had thoothukudi kothu parotta, chicken 65 , Veg uthappam and desserts.Everything was delicious. This is definitely a must-visit if you are in Nelson or even just passing through. I’ll definitely be back – and honestly, I wish they would open a location in the Okanagan since we don’t have many good South Indian restaurants here

First timer to Nelson from Lower mainland to view Vintage Car show and stumbled upon this place. Being Tamil myself, this place intrigued me. Nice ambience. Asked for chef. Nithin explained what's the best in the menu. Ordered Karuveppalai Eral and Masala Dosai. Eral is so juicy and so yummy. Dosai is quiet large and crispy. Ginger chutney & coconut chutney is so fresh. Highly recommend.

Chose this restaurant after reading the story of the owners on the website. But it turned out to be all bark and no bite. The waiter seemed completely uninterested. We ordered masala dosa and Thali. Both arrived almost 30 mins later and the dosa was completely cold....never had a restaurant take that long to make a dosa. Was very bland too....devoid of any spices. Curries in the thali weren't tasty either. Definitely not authentic....wouldn't recommend. While leaving we noticed left over food at other tables as well.

Kootenay Tamil Kitchen showed up big for the community yesterday.

All heart, zero fuss, bomb flavour.
Food slapped: clean spice, bright flavour, big heart.
Team was kind, organized, and made everyone feel welcome.

You didn’t just feed people—you connected a community and allowed strangers to share tables.

Highly recommend. 🙏❤️
