After two weeks touring Vancouver Island and eating out a lot, and of course a few lovely fresh fish meals, we came home and finding little in the fridge headed in to the Library at the Hume Hotel. The meal we had there which was a mushroom ravioli and a salad and this meal was was probably the best of all our two weeks in the island. We had to come home to Nelson to experience that, so full marks to the Hume and Nelson restaurants in general for maintaining an exceedingly high standard of the culinary arts.

Went there for brunch, the place was empty which got us wondering why. Anyway, we stayed and ate, ended up leaving hungry. The food is good but the portions are tiny for what you spend, not great value.

This place is a reserved but delightful bar in the Hume hotel that delivers in several categories. The service is decent with nice, friendly staff but where the place shined for us was in the cocktails, food, and ambience (have an Old Fashioned and thank me later). The food was very well done with both of us having a pasta dish and the generous portions were a treat.Last, the mood was set each night (I went back for more Old Fashioneds) by wonderful musicians who were very talented and also masterful enough to play to a room that size with just the right approach.

The food and service was excellent. I must mention this was the second time I had the white chocolate cheesecake and can say it’s the best, by far, I’ve ever had. A large portion so you may want to share. Give it a try.

Disappointed, expecting a high-end experience but received pub style food and drinks at best.

Had Shirley Temples, really good. Great atmosphere, two live musicians, nice music, and not loud.

Incredibly cozy lunge definitely worth a visit. Whether you’re a guest of the Hume or just passing through Nelson. Make sure to stop by the historic hotel and enjoy this heritage bar and lounge. The staff are friendly and the beverages amazing!

Courteous staff, homey English pub style lounge. Reminded me of Winston's pub in Saskatoon - though I noticed a higher end menu available here at the Library Lounge/Mike's. Popular meeting place, good party atmosphere.

I love this cozy restaurant. The servers are always pleasant and the food always delicious. Keep in mind that, if you're driving, you may need to drive around to try & find street parking.

Excellent service, and a wonderful bartender who made some phenomenal drinks. Our orders of French onion soup, chowder soup, and the Dublin burger were all very well prepared with the soups being the standouts. Ticket times of about 10 minutes, with very reasonable pricing for scratch made.

I like this spot with a short of antique posh feel. Menu is solid, always a great quiche. Service is consistently above par.
