Ramen was meh. Drinks took forever for being two cocktails. Food was not hot, at all. Not the appies or ramen. Server was unenthusiastic. Place was dead so should have been a little more prompt with service imo. I've worked in the industry so I'm not saying that to be snobby. It'll do if you're desperate but I guess it should have been a hint when it was lunch hour and completely dead when the rest of Nelson was packed.

The ramen was tasty, but service was incredibly slow with poor communication. I ordered kimchi and a ramen bowl to eat before my appointment. I had mentioned that I had a pending appointment, and that the kimchi could come out first (its a cold dish) while waiting on my soup (also a quick to prepare dish).....the server waited over 15 minutes to put through my ramen order because she thought my kimchi was an independant appetizer... overall the server commumication and situational judgement was very poor. There were only 2-3 other tables and myself, and I waited over 35 mimutes for my ramen order, and ended up having to get it to go. I then got to eat lukewarm ramen in my car after my appointment. Just generally disappointed with the whole experience.

Read a bunch of reviews. Had our hearts set on Ramen. And if you absolutely need ramen, this is the place. But be warned the ramen is 3/5. Not rich comforting yum yum ramen, but acceptable to disappointing ramen. Trying not to be a snob but it's not super. Atmosphere was awesome though. So if ya need ramen, this will provide.

I have enjoyed my past experiences at red light ramen when dining with family. However this time, when I came in on vacation with just my boyfriend and I, we patiently waited for 25 minutes as we watched large tables around whom arrived later, be served first. We tried to catch the attention of any server, and to their credit it was pretty busy, but when we tried we realized they were chatting to their friends instead of actually managing the rush. When they finally served the table of six that just sat down next to us after waiting for so long, and they didnt even come over afterwords to check in with us or inform us of extra wait times, we decided not to waste any more of our time. I hate to be so negative but as someone who worked in the industry the past five years it really didnt seem to me they were too busy to grab a two tops order. We ended up going to broken hill afterwards which was actually twice as busy and we were still served twice as fast. Cant help but think its because we arent nessecarily rich or mature looking but good servers know that doesnt make the tip.

YUMMMMMM SO GOOD!!! I got the miso pork ramen and I’m so certain I left this place weighing like 20 pounds more than I did before I walked in the door, I could NOT put my bowl down! 100% recommend

Great tasting ramen but every time I go here they seem to have found a new way to cheap out on the dish and raise the price a little bit! My last time was take-out and they even managed to forget the egg!

This upscale modernized-Japanese restaurant takes everything good about a traditional Japanese meal, and adds a westernized twist in which does not stray from its roots. Food was very good, decent portions but a smaller menu. Ramen flavour was very “smokey” compared to the traditional taste but still was excellent. Waiter was friendly, atmosphere was upscale and inviting.
