Easily the best place to grab a bevvie in Nelson. Themed cocktails and great happy hour prices with staff that are friendly & welcoming. We will always stop by for one (or several) when we're in town!

Overall nothing special, service was great and enjoyed the chicken but the pulled pork had zero flavour, the poutine had an off taste and was cold when we got it, the service however was lovely but overall I’d go somewhere else, they also change their menu every 6 months so if you see a review of a food item you’d like to try chances are it’ll be gone as they don’t keep their site up to date

Amazing rotating cocktails, a really cool eclectic environment with a great patio space right on Baker street, perfect for people watching. INCREDIBLE fried chicken and probably the best onion rings we've ever had. Shea was our server and she was wonderful. Knowledgeable and honest with her recommendations. TRY THIS PLACE!

Okay the food was amazing. Gluten free fried chicken! Thank you for the amazing food. Why my review is low…. The young lady who primarily “served” our table. She was lack lustre, I honestly thought she was mad at me.
When I went in to ask to sit on the patio I was greeted by a sweet red head girl. She is who I thought would be serving us and I wish she had been the only one. The girl who came out after to take our drink order the girl in the camo pants…. Was less then hospitable. I was really excited about the menu having so many GF option's, which is you require this can be a little overwhelming. Was not pleased with me when I asked follow up question.
When I asked if the Korean style fried chicken was GF she said “why would they put it on that part of the menu?” if it wasn’t, i would have gotten sick. It’s important for me to all because I have celiacs.
Then my husband ordered a second beer. Which never came…. She came in and out of the restaurant a few times without it. Then my husband went in to use the restroom and she was gone. He couldn’t find her.
Finally the lovely human with the red hair came back. And she got us some boxes and our bill. We figured they were sharing tables and that was probably the only reason we tipped.
To sum it up.
Gluten free chicken was amazing. I ordered way too much.
The patio is dog friendly and they brought my dog water.
The blond girl in camo is not it. And she should reconsidered the services industry.

We researched a Gluten Free Restaurant and checked the menu. Looked good, sat down and had tons of fried chicken items showing Gluten Free. We asked our waitress. She said they make their own in house breading with rice flour. All deep fryers are gluten free as there is no gluten in the restaurant other than store bought buns. The food was fantastic, I haven’t had fried chicken in years since being diagnosed with Celiac Disease. I took a chance and everything was great.

We stopped here for a few pints and a little rest. They have a decent choice of drinks to choose from and the live music was good. It can be a bit of a wait for a seat on the patio, so get there earlier than the crowds if you want in. Otherwise there is plenty of seating inside.
We didn't try the food, but the fried chicken looked good, so I think a return trip is in order.
Wow food was amazing! Mexican street corn and pulled pork sandwich were great. Nice drinks with good presentation, highly recommend

Had a great experience here not only on the patio for early evening beverages and snacks, but also for a live band venue. Service was great, food delicious (a little pricey perhaps but good quality). The ambience for the live band was a huge part of the charm of this place. Going up to the bars for our own drinks worked best all while the staff was busy ensuring the table clutter was cleared. The pillars block the view from most booths but hey, if the music is great you are not sitting down. The line up of the musicians they attract is amazing and we wish wish we had a place like the Royal in our home town.
