Best beers in Nelson, hands down. Some decent snacks too.
We are big brewery people, and this one's up there.
Enjoyed the board games and left with a couple of flats.
Will return.
Good beer, great food. The servings were very generous. Poutine with tots instead of fries. Tbh, I like fries better, but the tots were good and the gravy was perfect.
had better had worse kind of OK beer at best
great cider, great service and amazing house made brew
Great brewery! They have lots of variety of beer! And they sell some of their beer in cans. The patio out front gets lots of sun in the afternoon so it’s a great spot to sit and bask in the sun especially after it’s been raining for WEEKS! LOL we got the spinach dip and it was very tasty. Highly recommend. Warning it’s a huge portion for 2. My hubby and I were barely able to finish it.
Nice place to enjoy a tasty beer after a day at whitewater ski resort.
This afternoon we were enjoying an amazing meal at Marzanos when we were told that if we really liked the Marzanos burger, then we would absolutely love the burger at Torchlight. As soon as we finished, off we went. Upon entering we noticed the place was medium full or so and people were eating and/or drinking. As we sat down the table was gross, covered in other peoples food and the place was just dirty overall.
As we had been recommended we immediately ordered the burger along with the tater tots. The food didn't take much time to be brought out to us but during that time we had a chance to see one of the cooks walking in and out of the kitchen delivering food to people etc... unfortunately rather than be dressed in a presentable and professional manner like we had just seen at Marzanos, he was wearing a sleeveless shirt that was dirty and his entire appearance was overall incredibly off-putting. We shook that off and tried the burger with open minds and the result is that Torchlight makes the very worst burger I have ever eaten. Poor quality meats, soggy and sloppy bun and poor flavour combinations. Seriously A&W makes a more delicious burger.
The overall level of cleanliness and hygiene, or rather lack of cleanliness and hygiene, on full display was very off-putting. We definitely did NOT finish the burger nor the burnt frozen tater tots that were cooked in very old oil.
This place has no business serving food whatsoever, especially with so many good and clean restaurants in Nelson. Thanks for the endless disgusting burps!
Gross.
I visited Torchlight as part of a local entrepreneurial meet up. I hadn’t had the chance to eat at Torchlight before so we also part took in burger month (bravo! Super tasty) and paired it with a fun (self selected) flight.
Service was friendly and fast - esp awesome considering our group was 25-ish folks all moving about.
Great value, tasty beers, yummy food and a great back drop to this little meet up. Will visit again.
Beer was ok. Slow service when not busy always a bummer.
What a great place! So many craft brews to choose from and the Floyd Pepper Burger was probably the best burger I have had in ages. I asked for crispy bacon…and got crispy bacon! Would not hesitate to recommend to anyone!

Great people work here, lots of passion for beer. AND they have great food!
Excellent beer, great servers, food was awesome. Tater tot poutine and Brie hand pie were excellent with a flight
Service, food, beer was fantastic!
Go for the beer and friendly service... but the food is an afterthought that I could have done without.
Great beer and atmosphere
