Absolutely delicious breakfast. We got the peaches and whipped cream pannenkoek and the Dutchman's breakfast with bratwurst sausage. That was one of the best bratwursts I've ever eaten!!! So tender and flavourful. Looking forward to coming back time and time again :)

Reviewed two years ago and can't review again on the same account so here is a distinct and separate review! Allie is an incredible server. She knows the food up, down, and sideways and is so decisive and personable. This is so important for people with dietary restrictions and has been consistent every time we've been to eat here. I only wish I could eat more at a time because the food is amazing. Highly recommend.

This breakfast restaurant in New Westminster is absolutely worth trying. The environment is excellent, with spacious indoor and outdoor seating overlooking the beautiful Fraser River. The indoor seating is also very comfortable.

The food quality is high. We ordered an eggs Benedict breakfast, a sandwich, and a soup. Both the sandwich and soup were excellent — the sandwich had a nicely crisp exterior. but the only downside was that I asked for soft eggs, and they came out completely overcooked lol.

Overall, the atmosphere, view, and food make this a great spot for breakfast.

Oh, and a friendly reminder: their scorpion hot sauce is very flavourful, but be prepared, you might need a gallon of water if you take too much!

It’s been a number of years since my last visit to Angelina’s Dutch Corner but they’ve recently moved into a new location at the River Market at the Quay. I’ve got to admit that I like their new digs… much more open, airy, and bright compared to their last location. The only bad thing here is that the noise inside the restaurant seems to echo and amplify making for a loud din.

On this first revisit, I decided to get The Big Bennie ($17) which comes with bacon, sausage, ham, and turkey bacon along with a generous fruit bowl. For my poached eggs, I asked for medium (they said their medium would be a bit runny in the yolk) and one of the eggs was pretty good with a creamy, slightly runny yolk. But the other egg was slightly overdone. Still, this was a nice benny and the herbed potatoes turned out quite well too.

There were so many different types of fruit in the fruit bowl… orange, kiwi, mango, strawberry, blueberry, cherry, peach, grape, pineapple, honeydew, cantaloupe, watermelon, berries….

Although I’m not a vegetarian, I thought I’d give their Vegetarian Benedict ($15) a try. It comes with spinach, tomato, avocado, havarti and poached eggs. This was actually pretty good and I was surprised that I didn’t miss the meat. Again, a solid selection of fruit in the accompanying fruit cup.

Okay, so you knew that IT would eventually show up… and by “IT” I mean the Big Pannekoek ($18). While you’ve probably heard of pannekoek from that other Dutch breakfast joint, you should give the one at Angelina a try. They weren’t kidding… this is huge. The feather-lite crepe-like pannekoek is topped with an ample supply of meat (yeah, I know I did a complete 180 from the Veggie Benny that I had before) with the likes of ham, bacon, sausage patty, bratwurst, and eggs… all served with some hollandaise sauce on the side. Definitely enjoyed the crisp bacon here.

Came back on a weekend and ordered the Fully Loaded Hash ($16) and Fresh Fruit French Toast ($17) with some Hot Chocolate. Now, I know that hash is, well, hashed up. But they weren’t kidding… all of the ingredients in the hash were chopped up so it was difficult to tell what everything was. I guess that’s the point. But I did really like the edam cheese as well as the sourdough toast.

Okay, the thing to know about Angelina’s is they are quite popular so it always seems busy here. Even on a weekday lunch, service is slow despite how many people they have working here. If you’re coming here on a weekend for breakfast/brunch… expect things to be slow… like really, really slow. That being said, the food is good and I’d come back just for the fresh fruit cup the accompanies many of their dishes.

UPDATE- Nov 2025: It's been about 6 years since our last visit here. Parking is still a pain and there still isn't a whole lot to visit the Quay aside from eating. Visited for lunch on a weekday - not too busy so a good time to visit. Had a Peach Slush ($5), The Big Bennie ($26) with bacon, sausage, ham, and bratwurst as well as Angelina's Burger ($21) with seafood chowder.

The seafood chowder was mainly fish chowder and left me wanting (would have been nice to have some detectable other seafood items in the chowder). The burger itself was fine (and messy to eat). I actually found the burger tasted better the next day when I reheated it at home. They did ask how I wanted my eggs poached and Iasked for soft poached but it came out more like medium poached. The thing I still like here is the fruit bowls that come with some items.

Great for breakfast. Can be a bit of a wait on the weekend, but worth it. Good sized portions. Perfectly cooked. Fresh fruit and real whipped cream. Great coffee and table service. Delicious and recommended!

Realtor writing this food review so location, location, location. It Quayside with a view of the active port and the Fraser River! The food is scratch made and authentically Dutch in its origin story! The servers are pleasant, engaged and ready to treat you like an old friend. I had the BIG Pannencoken and the Bitter Ballen and enjoyed every bite!
