“Best Indian Cuisine Ive ever had. Must try the mango butter chicken and lemon chicken. Great family restaurant great service and top notch eats.”
“A small family-run restaurant tucked away in a quiet neighborhood. Seating is limited (around 20 seats), so it can get quite busy and may not be ideal for larger groups.
The menu offers a wide variety of choices. We tried a couple of bento boxes, a Korean stone rice bowl, and a few pressed sushi dishes. Overall, the food quality was decent. One of the bento boxes was supposed to include snapper tempura, though it tasted more like sole. I didn’t bother raising the issue since there was only one server handling everything — including taking orders, serving tables, and answering phone calls — and she was clearly overwhelmed.
Parking in the residential area is quite limited, but there are several paid parking spots available in the condo building next to the restaurant.”
“This place has authentic and delicious Maharashtrian food. Everything we ordered felt so fresh and tasted as if it was home-made. The owner and the staff were so sweet. I highly recommend this place. Would love to revisit. I really liked their vada pav and ragda patties.”
“Food was delicious. Came in got seated right away. Got my food in less than 15 minutes which is insanely fast. Definitely coming back here more often”

“We keep coming back as we love the experience. We order the dinner for 2 or 4 depending on how many are in our party. It comes family style with everyone sharing. You have to be careful not to fill up on the delicious salad and dips before the main course arrives! On our latest visit we ordered the sangria which came with so much fresh fruit it was fantastic. We will be back again soon!!”

“Definitely one of the best Ethiopian restaurants I’ve seen. Not only that but they have some non-Ethiopian dishes if someone doesn’t fancy injeera-based ones.”

“Me and my husband wanted to try out the food here, so we ordered a takeout. We got the Shanghai noodle with chicken, curry beef, honey prawns, honey garlic chicken, spicy deep fried chicken, and tofu beef soup (I dont remember the exact names). The price for all of this is reasonable I would say, but we did ordered a lot. All were delicious and filling! The portions were just right, not too small or too much, which is what I like. We will definitely come back here when were craving for Chinese food! Sorry I couldn't take photos, we ate the food immediately when we got home.”
“One of the owners looks super cool (was present at night time). I would need his number in the reply. The pizzas are super awesome and the staff is super friendly.”
“Great sushi spot I hope. Me and my friend had the san/Jo sets and honestly for 24/22 each it was really good. Like I think I would find myself craving it again. I loved how the chicken was fried for my set , though my friend mentioned the beef in her don was a tad dry. The sushi and sashimi here is perfect though , I love what they did with the rice , the way they set up their sushi viniger will keep me coming back. We enjoyed most of the side dishes , I think there were one or two we though were just okay .
But yeah , I would totally have it again just for the sushi and sashimi, maybe even just order some of those items specifically.”
“I ordered a Salmon Don 🍣
Best Sushi you will find in New Westminster, the quality of the salmon, the generous portions, and he local full of beautiful plants 🪴 the “irashaimase” greeting in the entrance, overall we had a beautiful experience. I love this tiny little sushi place.”
“We've been looking to find a new local sushi spot. Just tried this place for the first time. It was so fresh and delicious, we will definitely be back again! Thank you!”
“Overall, I had a pretty good experience at Patsara Thai. We ordered Pad Thai, Tomyum Rice with beef, Tomyum Soup, Mango Sticky Rice, and Thai Green Milk Tea.
The Tomyum Soup was decent but nothing too special in my opinion. The flavor was okay and worked well as a side dish, but the toppings were a bit lacking ☹️ mostly just mushrooms and shrimp. Considering that, I felt the price was slightly expensive for what was included.
The Tomyum Rice was definitely the highlight of the meal. The portion was big, the flavor was really good, and both my friend and I agreed that the beef and toppings were generous. If you come here, I’d definitely recommend ordering this dish. 🤤🙆🏻♀️
For the Pad Thai, I personally liked the flavor and found it balanced, but my friend thought it was a bit too sour and not really their taste.
The Mango Sticky Rice tasted very authentic, similar to the ones I had in Thailand, and the mango was sweet and delicious.
The Thai Green Milk Tea was also really good! Very fresh, creamy, and refreshing.”
“we were not very happy arriving 10 mins after opening and having to wait for a table for over 5 mins. no one in the restaurant. That was by the operational manager. Our Waiter (Bartender) was awesome!!!”

“I was having my last meal before surgery and The Whopper it was.
I pulled up to the drive-thru window and small talked with the young lady. Soon, I was blurting it out. You girls, you all get mammogram! You don't need a doctors referral.
The BK employee then handed me a Crown and said something like I could be Queen for my surgery. You got this! Then the next lady came over and she too brought me a BK Crown.
I was very touched by this moment. When they wheeled me into the OR I thought of the Crown and smiled inside.”
“I was craving something I’ve never tried - Grace made the freshest most delicious Egusi with Poundo and WOW. My taste buds are exploding. Also love that it has the perfect amount of spice to it. I did think the portion of the soup could have been bigger but I Definitely will be back for more! Thanks Grace you did not disappoint.”
“I’m extremely impressed with the renovations. They’ve done with that place. It looks absolutely amazing. Classy and upscale. Great menu options and extremely affordable prices. The moment we stepped in, we were greeted with amazing and friendly staff. The owner is friendly and I’m looking forward to visiting again soon.”
Takeout Restaurants
“Ordered through the app, classic BOGO. Got the Hawaiian and it was good. Full of pineapple, just the way I like it. The tomato sauce was a too heavy handed though. Got the 2-topping pizza: chicken and red peppers. Notified them to make sure there is enough chicken. Not asking for much, just needed good amount and not scarcely spread like some other places. The two ladies who were making the pizza acknowledged my request and they did not undercut me! Thank you. Visited washroom and noticed washroom is clean. Only thing to work on is, please have the pizza dough made a bit thicker. It's tooooo thin, almost like flat bread. And please cut the pizza through. Is the cutter not sharp enough? Not sure. But overall, still decent job. Oh, also got the slices of cheese pizza on the side and my picky kids loved the slices. Better on white sauce than on tomato sauce.”
“We found this unnasuming burger store tucked away inside the Royal Square Mall. The burger was big enough to share. It was flavourful, hearty and fresh. Reminded me of a delicious home-made burger. The chicken and fries was fried to perfection. Crispy and moist. Loved the garlic aoli sauce that comes with it. Best part is the price was affordable.”
“Whenever I get a proper craving for fish and chips, Cockney Kings Fish & Chips is my default setting. They run daily specials, and while I occasionally go full treat-yourself with the halibut, my usual order is the cod two-piece plus calamari, which I split with my partner. Reliable, classic and zero regrets.
The service is genuinely lovely. At lunch today they automatically split the cod onto two plates and brought them out separately without even having to ask. That kind of attention and service tends to stick.
The ambiance leans diner rather than destination restaurant, but it's cozy in the way diners are supposed to be: comfortable, unfussy, and staffed by people who seem happy you're there. Cockney Kings in New West wins you over with warmth, consistency, and very solid fish and chips.
I’d give them a 4.5/5 stars if I can on Google.”
“I made my first trip out too steel and oak brewery such a nice place the girl that was working there don’t know here name but she was so nice and helpful and knowledgeable she was very welcoming I really enjoyed my time there will make a trip back out again I definitely recommend this place if you want a chilled laid back place too go”
“This was our first visit and we immediately fell in love with this cafe. From the beautifully decorated interior and art pieces to the music, the staff, and the overall vibe — everything about this place feels special and thoughtfully put together.
I ordered the hojicha latte while my husband had a drip coffee. The hojicha latte was hand-whipped and incredibly aromatic — I could actually smell the roasted tea fragrance before taking the first sip. My husband said the drip coffee was excellent as well.
We also found out that the cafe turns into a bar at night and hosts all kinds of events like open mic nights and magic shows, which makes the place even more interesting.
Such a fun and unique spot. Definitely somewhere I’d love to come back to and explore more.”
“Had an amazing lunch today at Sapperton District Taphouse. I ordered the House Salad with cajun chicken and my daughter had the Kung Pao Noodle Bowl. We both loved our meals! We also tried the Moscow Mule they have on tap and a pint of the Vertical Winter Ale from Tree (drank that too fast to take a pic, so good). We felt very comfortable the whole time. Lots of covid restrictions in place and we especially liked that our utensils came individually packed and sanitized. We found out this place is entirely locally owned and they have a cold beer & wine store inside!! We took home some Rock Creek Cider on our way out. We will definitely be coming back soon.”
“I have enjoyed drinking earl grey tea for as long as I can remember. Today I’m enjoying the most fragrant, delicious cup of earl grey tea from Great Wall Tea Co. I will go as far as to say that this is the freshest and most well-balanced flavor I’ve enjoyed in a cup of tea in 25+ years! Love love love!!!”

“The service and food were incredible. For those who are wondering if it’s worth the trip to get to, it absolutely is! The food has great flavor, is prepared beautifully and is run by a very hard working family. I recommend the Rose Pasta and the Pork Ssam! Right now, they also have a Dubai chocolate pancake going on and it’s also very delicious.”
“While touring the area and sightseeing around the Fraser River, we found this lovely little café nearby. The soup and wraps were absolutely delicious. The chef was very courteous and friendly and even took the time to come out and explain the special ingredients he adds to his wraps, which are made fresh daily. That personal touch made the experience feel even more welcoming.
The server was also very friendly and attentive, checking back to make sure everything was okay despite how busy the café was.
The coffee, food to dessert was delicious, the service was fast, and the overall experience was wonderful. We’re so glad we stopped in and would definitely visit again.
Very busy café for good reason — pay it a visit, you will not be disappointed!”
“I was in New West for a meeting, so after I was hungry. I had a choice, it was either McDonald's or across the street Jim's Cafe. I decided to give Jim's a try,and I'm sure glad I did. The atmosphere was great, service was wonderful and the food was just great!! To bad I live in North Vancouver, otherwise I would be at Jim's almost everyday. But I'll be there, for sure, next time I'm in New Westminster!! See you then!!!”

“Just like FRENCH POETRY! Every bite of their delectable pastry and savory options is a delight! This gem is located in the Vancover area and bound to be an instant family favorite. Multiple awards winning Chef who takes pride in using the best ingredients and authentic recipes.”
“I visited Pho Maxima Restaurant because I had been craving authentic Vietnamese food, and it was a great choice. The moment I walked in, I noticed it was a small and casual place, not fancy but very welcoming. The vibe felt like a neighbourhood favourite where locals come back again and again.
I ordered a bowl of pho with beef brisket and rice noodles, and it was rich and comforting. The broth was fragrant with warm notes of star anise and cinnamon, and it hit the spot on a chilly day. The noodles were cooked well and there was a generous amount in the bowl.”
“Probably the best pizza in B.C. I've only been here 3 times now, but every time I pick up from them, I end up loving their food! The crust is buttery, the toppings are high quality, and the service is outstanding. Thank you to Daisy for the great conversation, and amazing food! You guys are amazing!”
“We had an exceptional dining experience at Saigon Ivy Vietnamese Cuisine yesterday, with outstanding service and food. The new owners and menu were thoroughly impressive. Each dish was delicious, and we are eager to return and explore more options. The service was superb, and we commend the chef. Saigon Ivy Vietnamese Cuisine 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾”
“I love the food, it’s always delicious with good portions and is amazing value. The service is quick and is way better than an ihop or Denny’s place. Nancy is the star of the show, she is so sweet, provides excellent service and takes the time to remember your name and greet you warmly. This is such a lovely gem in new west and I’m glad to have this spot as a go to breakfast/lunch spot! 😊”
“Came in to try this place out with my parents! Really great place and service, very welcoming and sweet staff. Portions on the Shawarma are not cheap and full of meat, tried out the lamb and chicken it was delicious. Would recommend this place out for sure if you’re ever around.”
“had an amazing experience at Kabayan Cafe! The atmosphere is super cozy and Instagrammable — perfect for hanging out with friends or just relaxing with a good drink.
Their bubble tea is the best in New Westminster — creamy, flavorful, and perfectly sweet! I also tried their croffles and kakanin, and wow, what a treat! The Filipino desserts reminded me of home, especially the halo-halo, which was so refreshing.
They now serve hot steamed buns (Siopao) and shaken teas, which are must-tries! You can really taste the love in their food and drinks. 💕
The staff are friendly, warm, and always greet you with a smile. Whether you're Filipino or not, Kabayan Cafe makes everyone feel welcome.
Highly recommend checking this place out if you’re in the area! 🙌”
“A great place for our large party on Saturday! Great food, great service and great fun!”
“They are the best food, for the best price, and top service. Our favorite place to go. Good old fashion personable service. Not fancy, but who wants fancy shamancy when you get the best of everything else.”
“Price and portion is extremely well! The atmosphere isn’t the best but renovations are in progress to fix up the entire place. Food is crispy and not oily as well as tasty!! The server was extremely nice making sure food was great and everything is perfect!”

“The food is always great and they seem to maintain their taste on my favourite dishes. The salmon was cooked to perfection as I have requested. The only thing is, they served it with a small portion of rice (as substitute) which our server happily asked the kitchen for more. ( I told him to tell the kitchen staff to never serve 3 tablespoons of rice to an Asian customer.)”

“Great neighborhood go-to for delicious pho and classic Vietnamese dishes. Favorites include the pho satay (more peanuty and coconut milk–rich than spicy), wings (crispy and well-seasoned) and the vermicelli bowls (fresh and generously portioned). Recommend if you're in the area.”
“Great experience at Chaiwala New West! The chai and snacks were excellent. A special shoutout to Kamal for her friendly and attentive service—she made the visit even better. Highly recommend!”
