13 Best Japanese Restaurants in New Westminster

“Consistently exceptional food, and service. As well, their value proposition is amazing. I work close by and I am delighted to be a frequent lunch, and dinner customer. Cannot say enough great things about these folks 😀💗“

“This sushi spot inside the mall is great! I had the nigiri combo and was extremely satisfied—it even comes with miso soup, which was awesome. You can tell they really care about hygiene since they change their disposable gloves frequently while making the food. The sashimi is so fresh and delicious, and the staff were very friendly. I will definitely be back!“

“Tried them for the first time, will never go anywhere else again for my Sushi 👍👍“

“The food was excellent! The sushi was fresh and flavourful, the takoyaki was perfectly crispy and the salmon oshi was my favourite, smooth flavors and great texture. The staff was friendly and helpful and even gave us complimentary tea and spring rolls. Great experience!“

“Beautiful trays of assorted sushi! Placed my order the night before for pick up at noon the next day. Everything beautifully presented with attention to details. Generous slices of fish, maybe a little too much nigiri rice. Rolls were well done, not falling apart. Everyone was impressed, highly recommend!“

“A sushi place with a cozy atmosphere and decent portion sizes! Came here with a buddy and we shared one of the Teishokus, it was enough for the two of us with some leftovers. All the dishes in the set are delicious, and we would definitely come back here again, I highly recommend trying this place out :)“

“Exceptional Japanese Lunch -- A True Gem!

We found this spot based on its stellar Google reviews, and it exceeded every expectation. We both ordered a lunch bento box, and the entire meal was outstanding. Every component was perfectly balanced, beautifully presented, and prepared with incredible care and precision. It was honestly some of the best Japanese food we’ve ever had.

If you're considering stopping by, don't hesitate -- we highly recommend“

“Exceptional quality food, friendly and efficient service.“

“5 star ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ Whenever I step into Vancouver I visit this place for sushi. I get California and salmon avocado rolls absolutely amazing taste. They have their own unique touch to the rolls. They are large and fresh Everytime i come. They got combos and 6-8 rolls for $6.00 a round. Or full boxes for 13.95. Absolutely amazing and a must try. The scenery and decor takes me back to a Japanese diner in a small town. Businesses only survive in Vancouver is the food is consistent and great! Thank you and God bless“

“My wife is making me do this because if you review them you get a free soft drink. Coercion aside, it does deserve a good review. My mother suggested I mention that the music is at a tolerable level, for her. That’s a surprisingly big thing for her.“

“This is our favourite sushi spot in new west. Fresh and delicious every time.“

“UNDER RATED! My favourite sushi place in new west, if you’re looking for affordable healthy food (or not so healthy) look no further. Their house salad is the most delicious salad I’ve had in my life. The staff are very nice, it’s incredibly affordable, it’s real cute too. But the fooodddddd omggggggg I can go there and fill up on sushi for like 10 bucks? Depending on how fancy I go. There’s an awesome variety. I literally don’t eat raw fish and I’m a pretty picky eater. But literally every time I go I find something new I like and I’ve been there so many times. It’s also so chill in there because not enough people come, so you have space and don’t feel rushed. Sometimes I just draw there and eat sushi for like hours.“

“Grabbed dinner here with a few friends last weekend and the sashimi platter was easily the freshest we've had in New West in a while. The chef at the counter actually walked us through what was in season that night, which felt like a nice touch instead of just handing over a menu. We went around 7pm on a Saturday and even though it was packed, service stayed quick and friendly the whole time. Already planning to go back and try the omakase next time.“
