“Really good night spent @ Steel & Oak Brewing. Nice chilled atmosphere. Staff were very nice & friendly. Only here in Van. for short period but I think we'll probably squeeze in another visit before we leave.

“I had read in another review that the nigiri portions were smaller but I just ordered take out from Blue Fin for the first time and the portions were significantly bigger than any of the other sushi places I have eaten at in New Westminster so far. The beef brisket noodle soup was absolutely wonderful - rich broth, tender meat, and a generous portion that kept us full for the rest of the afternoon. “Had an amazing lunch today at Sapperton District Taphouse. I ordered the House Salad with cajun chicken and my daughter had the Kung Pao Noodle Bowl. We both loved our meals! We also tried the Moscow Mule they have on tap and a pint of the Vertical Winter Ale from Tree (drank that too fast to take a pic, so good). We felt very comfortable the whole time. Lots of covid restrictions in place and we especially liked that our utensils came individually packed and sanitized. We found out this place is entirely locally owned and they have a cold beer & wine store inside!! We took home some Rock Creek Cider on our way out. We will definitely be coming back soon.“

“I’ve been coming here for the past 3 years and have always considered it one of the best donair places in New Westminster. That’s why I was excited to visit the new location today.

Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. The donair was cold on the inside and the meat was quite dry, which is not the quality I’ve come to expect from this place.

I truly believe that when a business grows from a small location to a bigger one, it’s because customers love its taste, quality, and consistency. Those are the standards that made people keep coming back.

I’m giving 3 stars because of the many good experiences I’ve had over the years, and I will give it another try. I sincerely hope this was just an off day. Growth should create more happy memories for loyal customers, not disappointment.

“Had an amazing experience at Nando’s! The food was absolutely delicious, fresh, and full of flavour. The chicken was perfectly cooked, juicy, and seasoned just right. The service was outstanding, with friendly, welcoming, and attentive staff who made sure everything was perfect. “Visited Kirin in Queensborough in Oct 2026. It's been many years since we last came here but the food is still pretty good. Actually, the dim sum prices are pretty good compared with some other restaurants these days. The interior of the main dining area is a bit understated (although the entrance foyer area is a bit more elegant).

For a weekday, it seemed kinda busy (filled mainly with other Asian diners) but not completely full. Service was a bit hit and miss depending on how busy they were but the food came out rather quickly.

The Deep Fried Prawn, Pork, and Chinese Mushroom Wrapped in Taro Root Paste ($9.95) was the first dish to appear. I found the exterior had the requisite fluffy and airy texture but the taro shell was a bit harder/firmer than I'm accustomed to. Inside, the filling was pretty good. Next up was the Steamed Prawn and Sakura Pork Dumpling topped with Flying Fish Roe ($9.95). These siu mai were quite large and went well with the xo sauce they provided.

The Steamed Bbq Pork Buns ($9.25) had a soft bun that encased the not-too-sweet bbq pork filling. From the non-dim sum menu, we got the Beef Cubes and Eggplant Sautéed in Black Pepper and Basil ($20.75). While the beef wasn't supremely tender like we've had in some other places, the flavours were good.

Last to arrive was the Deep Fried Minced Fish Bean Curd Rice Roll ($10.75). The bean curd skin was lightly crispy. Wish these were cut slightly smaller to make them easier to eat.

“UNDER RATED! My favourite sushi place in new west, if you’re looking for affordable healthy food (or not so healthy) look no further. Their house salad is the most delicious salad I’ve had in my life. The staff are very nice, it’s incredibly affordable, it’s real cute too. But the fooodddddd omggggggg I can go there and fill up on sushi for like 10 bucks? Depending on how fancy I go. There’s an awesome variety. I literally don’t eat raw fish and I’m a pretty picky eater. But literally every time I go I find something new I like and I’ve been there so many times. It’s also so chill in there because not enough people come, so you have space and don’t feel rushed. Sometimes I just draw there and eat sushi for like hours.“

“Took a group of friends here on a Saturday afternoon a couple weeks ago and it was exactly the kind of laid back spot you want for a weekend hangout. The brisket was so tender it basically fell apart, and the smoky bark on it had everyone at the table going quiet for a minute just eating. Staff were super friendly and didn't rush us even though we camped out at the table for a couple hours catching up. Parking around that stretch of New West can be tricky but we lucked out with a spot right nearby, and honestly the food alone makes it worth figuring out the logistics.“

“Grabbed dinner here with a few friends last weekend and the sashimi platter was easily the freshest we've had in New West in a while. The chef at the counter actually walked us through what was in season that night, which felt like a nice touch instead of just handing over a menu. We went around 7pm on a Saturday and even though it was packed, service stayed quick and friendly the whole time. Already planning to go back and try the omakase next time.“
