The vibes are immaculate. The barista is kind, cool, outgoing and attentive, way more than I usually expect. I usually order an iced latte (my go-too) and the coffee is great. Local businesses IMHO are the best places to spend your money. Hideout is absolutely worth a visit!“

“We had a long day at Vancouver and it was a perfect place to have dinner! Read nice things on Reddit and came for take away. Tina offered her suggestions and also the very tasty chili oil made by her (would have definitely taken it if I didn't have much at home already). Great service and food too. Surely recommend!“

“Beautiful trays of assorted sushi! Placed my order the night before for pick up at noon the next day. Everything beautifully presented with attention to details. Generous slices of fish, maybe a little too much nigiri rice. Rolls were well done, not falling apart. Everyone was impressed, highly recommend!“

“I placed an order for Chicken dumpling soup in chicken broth and this is something that they don’t have in menu but the kind gentleman I talked on phone made it happen. “Spice is real if you ask for it, and the vegetarian plates are marked instead of being an afterthought. We started with spring rolls and green papaya salad, then chicken pad Thai and green curry with rice. Curry had coconut and heat without turning into paste. Service was steady for a two-person table.“

“This is a great place to visit if you're looking for delicious gelato. They have a wide variety of flavors and it's a wonderful addition to River Market, where you can experience a unique vibe. The staff is friendly and attentive. You might have to wait a bit for your order, but it's definitely worth it.
I love all the varieties offered here, the kids really enjoy it, and I love the decor and vibe. Don't worry if you don't have enough space inside, you can easily use the common food court area or take a nice walk outside enjoying the lovely river scenery.“

“I had an amazing experience at Pizza Pizza in New Westminster! I tried their Tandoori Paneer Pizza, and it was absolutely awesome — delicious, flavourful, and perfectly prepared. 🍕😋
A special shout-out to Kiran, who assisted me so wonderfully. She was very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable, and she helped me choose the perfect pizza. She is a great cook, and you can really taste the care she puts into the food.

“Most reviews of restaurants will focus on the food first, and comment on other elements at the end. I would like to offer a review of the dinner experience. Breakfast and lunch I assume is not the same as evening as evening has us bringing a different mind set to enjoy a restaurant’s atmosphere and its board of fare (yes, an old fogey here using some prose to show respect and acknowledge the experience the proprietors and staff invested in and delivered to make the time we as patrons committed be valued as a wise expenditure).
Four of us for dinner. Some reviews will note about atmosphere and noise level and see that as a caution. There is no clanging and banging in the noise, the noise is all of the conversations going on. Much of that is we as patrons are talking about the food amongst ourselves, and talking to the staff serving us. Add to the noise our group remembering what past vents and people in our lives we remember from this kind of experience. Noise is not a problem, it is an ingredient, a flavour contributing to the experience. Drink it in.
The noise forces us as patrons to invest energy to engage with others in our party. That added energy to our experience. The food multiplied that energy and fed into our experience and conversation as group, and engaging with staff serving our group. All of that made the experience and the food even better. Staff was great, very accommodating, and without them the experience would not have been as good even if the food was great. Owners and staff of the Wild Thyme, keep it up, you’re doing great.
Wild Thyme is a taste of Lebanon. Food was awesome. Lamb shank is to die for, and whether prior to being executed or on one’s death bed, it is the last meal you want. Fresh, home made, huge pitas with four dips (hummus, yogurt, garlic, baba ghanouj) that we ensured we had the remaining in carry out containers. Fattoush Salad was fantastic. Chicken Taouk is great, a flatbread and toppings kind of like pizza but more than that. Beef Kafta Wrap was awesome, and in a dinner service it is recommended using a knife and fork. Cannot comment on anything else on the dinner menu, but I can guarantee return visits to explore the remaining dinner board of fare, and in the right times their breakfast and lunch menus.
Lower Mainlanders, for reservations they accept for groups of 5 or more people on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday (all service hours), and Friday (lunch only, 11:00 am - 3:00 pm). They welcome walk-in guests during all operating hours. This means on busy Friday and Saturday evenings you have to get their and get your name in for a table. But it is worth it.
For visitors to Vancouver from near and far, and seeking a unique experience in a quiet New Westminster neighbourhood away from the downtowns of the Lower Mainland, get on Skytrain Expo line, and depending on the direction, get off at 22nd Street or New Westminster stations, grab transit, Uber, taxi, and get to 12th Street and 7th Avenue and enjoy.“
