“Nam Vegan Express is a fantastic choice if you're looking for delicious vegetarian food. The staff are incredibly kind, welcoming, and generous, making every visit a pleasant experience. My favorite menu items are the fresh salad rolls, flavorful pho, and the V-BBQ chicken bites. Their tea is excellent as well and pairs perfectly with the meal. I highly recommend Nam Vegan Express for either lunch or dinner—you won't be disappointed.“

“A small storefront bakery with the most AMAZING treats. Not run of the mill, that's for sure! Huge stuffed cookies, delicious cheesecake creations, donuts covered in cereal instead of sprinkles. There was so much to choose from, I bought enough to feed an army! 🤣❤
I will absolutely go back for more!“

“A nice individual hot pot place in Burnaby. They are doing a buy one and get the second one half price promotion now. Nice place and good service. However, there is seem no air conditioning there. They need to fix the problem, especially in a hot pot place. No one can enjoy their food in such a temperature.“

“Every experience has a welcoming feel to it. The food is always delicious and I appreciate the selection of toppings. The one less star for Food is due to the few occasions where the rice was either over-hydrated or under-hydrated. Other than that it is a good place to have lunch at. Have recommended several times to friends.“

“There wasnt a whole lot of people in the restaurant, as it was around 3:00, so it was quiet and the service was really quick. The chasu pork was the best pork ive ever tried, and weve been to alot of ramen places in many different countries. Id add a photo of my ramen bowl but it was gone before i could take one“

“We’ve been back several times in a short period after discovering this restaurant, and every single dish we tried was amazing! We had the kimbap dishes, spicy pork, jjamppong, and soondubu stew. Unfortunately I forgot to take photos of my food, but everything was seriously so delicious 😭 The quality honestly tasted just like the food I used to have in Korea.
I even brought my family here, and since some of my family members are vegan, choosing restaurants can sometimes be a bit limiting. But this place had so many vegan options to choose from, and everyone ended up loving their meal. I felt so happy and proud that I brought them here!
Sadly the only photos I have are of the vegan dishes, but we will 10000% be coming back again. Also, their kkakdugi and garlic stem side dishes are SO good. Perfect with a bowl of white rice!!“

“Overall decent bahn mi, I got tofu and veg. The tofu couldnt have been any less seasoned. I'd imagine it came straight from the pack and sliced and put on. The rest of the sandwich was ok, veg was fresh and good so this saved the plain tofu.
Overall not the best not the worst“

“Been here a few times now. One of the largest coffee shops for seating which is super nice. A great selection too, I've only had the drinks so far. But the cakes all look great too. Services are excellent and they have everything you need (spoons, forks, honey, sugar) etc all laid out to use. Would definitely come again.“

“Fantastic breakfast spot. So many options it choose from, there is something for everyone's taste. My go-to is definitely the breakfast poutines or Benny's. The restaurant is long and skinny with great light from outside and a patio in summer months. We always go a little before lunch rush and never have problems getting a table.“

“Went here with my kid a little while ago, and we both loved it!
The atmosphere was cool, and the drinks were got were delicious. There were lots of options, but it was hard to tell what some of them were, as there were no descriptions.
We ended up getting the ones that had bubble tea, slushie and then shaved ice on top. It was so fun, and so good.
The decorations were fun. When you go into the seating area it is like you are in a jungle. There are fake leaves on the ceiling, and there are sloths hidden everywhere. We had fun trying to find the all.
Definitely recommend checking it out!“

“If you’re a ramen lover in Vancouver, you’ve probably heard of Marutama Ra-men. This iconic chain founded in Japan back in 2001 has spread across the globe and is known for their signature creamy chicken broth with aosa seaweed. Recently, they opened up a new location near Metrotown (in the former Ramen Raijin spot on Kingsway) and I visited during their soft opening.
Knowing how fanatical ramen people are, I made sure to show up early to avoid the lineups. I was maybe 5 minutes past their opening time and the place was already packed. I managed to get one of their last open seats at the large communal table and perused their rather limited menu offering. Although they don’t have a large number of items on their menu, you can somewhat customize your ramen bowl to your liking. However, I just stuck with the basic Tamago Ramen ($11.25) and asked for the mild option. After that, I waited, and waited, and waited… they seemed rather slow but that could be because it was their soft opening.
When my food finally arrived, there was already a lineup of diners outside the restaurant waiting patiently for a table. The bowl comes with 2 pieces of chashu which I found to be okay but not the tenderest that I’ve had before (I’ve had much better elsewhere). The ajitama (soft-boiled egg) was nicely prepared with a creamy and partly runny yolk. While you can add a noodle refil for $1.50, I thought there was an adequate amount of noodles already in the bowl. The thing that most people are here for is the broth. I did enjoy how the aosa seaweed and green onions melded with the flavours and the broth was fairly creamy. That being said, I felt the broth was overly salty and I carried that feeling in my mouth for a few hours after my meal.
Is this the best ramen spot in the Vancouver area? That’s probably a bit of a personal question (and, to be fair, this was their soft opening). IMOH, the broth was overly salty and the service was slow. Probably not something that I would line up for. That being said… I decided to give them another try and returned for a revisit about a month later. This time around, I ordered the Cha-Shu Tamago Ramen ($14.75) and Gyoza ($5.50)
The Gyoza was the first to arrive and had a light crispness to the exterior with a warm pork and veggie filling and tart dipping sauce. These actually weren’t too bad (maybe things are looking up?)
I have to admit that this bowl of ramen was much better than what I tried on my first visit. The pieces of cha-shu were larger and a lot more tender than on my first visit and the broth, while still somewhat salty, was much less salty than on my initial go around. In the bowl, you also get a marinated ajitama (egg) with a somewhat creamy yolk. If you go for the spicy option with your ramen, you might notice that the spicy kick creeps up on you as you drink the broth.
My thoughts? I’m assuming my experience on the first visit is a bit of a throwaway and that they were still working things out. The second visit was much better. That being said, this place is super duper busy (even when they first open up). The menu is fairly limited with just variations on the same staples but I guess that allows them to control their quality. If you’re really into ramen and have never been here before, then you might want to try this place out… just show up early or be prepared for a wait. If you’re not a big ramen fan, I wouldn’t bother with the lines.
UPDATE - June 2026: It's been 6 years since I last visited here... back before they changed names to Maruachi Ra-men. On this revisit, we ordered the Maruhachi Ra-Men Cha-Shu Tsuke-Men ($21.5) and their Signature Ramen ($21.5) made with chicken stock and added some Pan Fried Gyoza ($7.6), Wood Ear Mushrooms ($1.5), Corn ($1.5), and free Chili Oil.“

“As someone who loves pizza, I was genuinely impressed by Uncle at Brentwood. The pizza was fresh, flavorful, and made with high-quality ingredients. The crust had the perfect balance of crispness and chewiness, and the toppings were generous without overwhelming the pizza.
The staff were friendly, and the service was quick, even during a busy time. The restaurant was clean and had a welcoming atmosphere, making it a great place to enjoy a meal.
I'll definitely be coming back to try more items from the menu. Highly recommended for anyone looking for delicious pizza in the Brentwood area!“

“After dragging Crust & Crunch through the mud with a well-deserved 1-star review, it’s only fair I give Uncle Fatih’s the praise they’ve earned ages ago. Over the years, I’ve lost count of the slices I’ve devoured here, and every single one has been a delight. This location isn’t just good—it’s great, outshining even other Uncle Fatih’s spots with its rock-solid consistency.
The pizza here is everything you want: perfectly cooked crust, melty cheese, and flavors that hit every time. Whether I’m grabbing a quick slice between classes or braving the rain for a proper meal, Uncle Fatih’s never disappoints. What sets this place apart, though, is the staff. They’re not just doing their job—they’re genuinely friendly, making every visit a bright moment in my day.
To the Uncle Fatih’s team: keep doing whatever you’re doing, because it’s working. You’re the gold standard for campus pizza, and I’ll happily trek through any storm for your slices. 5/5 stars, hands down.“

“Came here one evening after hearing about this place from a coworker. Walking in there, the atmosphere was nice & the stag was very friendly! We got our food after about 3 minutes of waiting.
I got the Deep Fried California Roll with extra sauce. The exterior was crispy & the taste was alright. Honestly it was about as good as “Mall Sushi” can get, so I was happy with it, but don’t expect this to blow you away. The sauce added a nice element as well & was tasty!
Overall, I’d give Togo Sushi a 7.8/10. Not sure if I’d go back, or if I’d trust anything else here, but it was about as good as I expected.“
