“Got the pan fried dumplings and beef noodle soup.
Great portions. Lots of noodles which are are indeed fresh and good value for soup/meat. You get an about a dozen, large pan fried dumplings. Wish it came in a half size!
Nice guys, will be back.“
“Hidden Gem 💎!!! Michelin star worthy deliciousness. Tried the Mulukia with lamb and injera bread which was gobsmackingly delicious. So flavourful and interactive being able to use the injera bread as your utensil to pick up the lamb stew with jute leaves. Comes with a healthy salad and refreshingly spicy peanut sauce too. Mom and pop shop with excellent down to earth service. Can’t wait to return. Food is made fresh to order so it’s not fast food… but it’s worth the wait. The place has character, if you go in person, you’ll see what I mean.“

“I remember bubble world back when I used to be in highschool. There used to be a location in Coquitlam on North Road where I went to during my school breaks. I love the food, it is definitely nostalgic and comforting. The drinks are always delicious, and the people are always friendly and kind. It's not fancy, but it doesn't pretend to be either. It's a chill atmosphere, kids love it, I like how they post pictures of what the kids draw on their wall. Gives the place a welcoming fun vibe. They've of course updated their drinks and food since I used to be in highschool (20 years ago). I'm so glad this place still exists and hope business continues to do well for them. Also their chicken nuggets are to die for.“

“It was a wedding banquet of 200+ guests. The menu chosen by the host families was excellent and deliciously cooked, well served by the staff. We totally enjoyed the meal. The only thing was that we weren't able to hear most of what was going on since the sound system was not loud or comprehensive enough for the whole party...
It's very hard to find the place and even with Google map's help...twisting and turning to go to the parking... The restaurant sign was not bright at all so people missed it. After dinner, it was late and the parking lot was not well light, roads were dark... Not good.“

“Best Americanized Chinese food in lower mainland. This is exactly what we needed when looking for our restaurant few years back. The food is amazing , my wife who is picky will only eat Chans. Her favorite dish is the peanut spicy tofu dish and as someone who hates tofu, that dish is delicious even for me. Otherwise I love everything including their sweet sour pork. Few reviews here get confused thinking it’s “dry” but rather it’s not greasy and slabbered with too much sauce like the mall crappy places. Instead their sweet sour pork is just right, crispy, and marinated in the sauce without being soaked. When you make good pork you don’t have to cover up your cooking with so much sauce, that’s why Chans is best.
Their ginger fried beef is perfection. Chicken chop suey so yummy. Their chow mein and fried rice is so amazing.
Best of all, this place is family owned and operated and they LOAD up the portions heavy. The food is always double to triple what it’s intended for. A single combo can feed you 2-3 meals. Combo for 2 can feed 4, and I’m a huge eater too.
These owners take care of you. I have ordered at night and not only did they pack heavy portions they even throw in extra dish/food for me out of courtesy when they did not know me. Very kind people
Lastly, when we ordered yesterday with me sisters account, it was new customer. They didn’t know her yet they followed all instructions and substitutions to make chow mein veggie, pack it in seperate container and swap one meat for Ginger Fried beef. Very accomodating. Best of all, even though my sister was first time customer they seemed to pack our dishes with extra food than normal. We ordered for 4 but with their generosity and extra portion sizes there was enough food for 8. No lie.
This has been our spot for 3 years now and we will continue to support this family oriented generous Americanized Chinese food. Quality non greasy , massive portioned , comfort family food… long live Chans and we will continue to support this pillar of New West restaurant. Much love to all the cooks and staff“

“I visited this restaurant on April 29th, 2026 at lunchtime. It was busy, but a staff member found a small table for me. I ordered the shrimp fried rice, and it tasted really good. I couldn’t finish it, so I brought the rest home. Great service, and definitely senior‑friendly. I’m very satisfied.“

“It had been years since my last solo dining experience, a streak finally broken by a flashy sign promising a hot $12.80 beef set before 5 PM (along with temporary shelter from the light rain). Though the staff appeared to be new, they were accommodating and I appreciated their hard work. The warm food (the beef set with a mushroom-broth base) hit the spot, with a versatile sauce bar to customize the flavors. I’d highly recommend this discounted set as a pre-workout meal. Thank you for the warm food and the hospitality while escaping the weather.“

“Very nice place! We were seated immediately by our server Fanny she was very friendly!
We ordered some spring rolls a chicken and rice dish with mixed vegetables sweet and sour spareribs and some very tasty hot and sour soup !
Our order came within like 10 to 15 minutes after ordering. We couldn't finish the soup and I ate it for 2 meals later that week. Price was very reasonable $45.89!! can't beat the price and I've eaten at a lot of Chinese restaurants and chinese tea is always usually free!
So I would recommend you try this place you won't be disappointed !“

“Been coming here since 2021 and it never disappoints. The Chick Peas Chongqing Noodles are my absolute favorite, and their Beef Tendon Noodle is super great too. The hand-pulled noodles are so chewy and the portions are huge! I also loved the Spicy Tofu and Bamboo Shoots... everything tasted fresh and authentic. The best part? They still serve the complimentary dessert jelly, which is such a nice thing!
It’s right across from Coquitlam Centre, clean, and the staff are always friendly. If you want a hearty, delicious meal that’s actually worth the price, this is the spot!“

“Very tasty housemade noodles and beef roll. This small Xi An cuisine eatery with only 4 tables has very basic decor but the owner provides very good, personable service. I was pleasantly surprised by how tasty the food was. I’ll be back to try their other dishes, especially the housemade noodles and dumplings. They only take cash or debit.“

“Rich, creamy broth with a gentle heat that perfectly complemented the tender fish and earthy mushrooms. The fresh vegetables and green peppercorn added a vibrant kick, and the red rice made it hearty and satisfying. A comforting, flavorful dish. I came with my big family and got great atmosphere too. If you are going to bring kids, it is good to order tomatoes sauce fish with yummy crispy pork.“

“We had a great dining experience at Alvin Garden. The restaurant is clean, comfortable, and has a nice Chinese-style atmosphere. The food was very flavorful, especially the kung pao chicken, spicy boiled fish, and stir-fried pork with green peppers. The portions were generous, and the service was friendly. A great place for family meals or dining with friends. Would definitely come back again“

“Literal hole in the wall. Food was delicious.
Tasted very authentic packed with loads of flavour.
We asked if they can make the food a little bit more spicier. Amazing they were able to accommodate.
We really liked the sizzling cumin beef, shrimp dish, ginger beef and hand made noodles. Everything tasted so fresh!
Food also wasn’t too oily and greasy like other Chinese places eg at Crystal mall, dimsum restaurants etc“

“We’ve been here for dim sum a handful of times, and the food is consistently great. Service has always been good as well.
Unfortunately, during our most recent visit, we ordered the hot and sour seafood soup and found a very long black hair in it (and we are all blonde). We let our server know right away, and they were very apologetic and removed the dish from our bill.
That said, we were a bit surprised that nothing further was offered—no small discount or even a dessert on the house. While we appreciated the apology, it felt like a missed opportunity to go a step further in making things right.
A bit disappointing, especially when the “extra ingredient” definitely wasn’t something we ordered.“

“I came here for lunch and was warmly greeted by the cashier and owner. They were both so helpful in explaining how to build my own Chinese poke bowl. Bowls start at only $12.88 and you choose a protein, base, sauce and 3 sides. I tried shrimp with thick noodles, dragon sauce and 3 veggie sides. The noodles were chewy and the sauce added a nice kick to it. I also tried the chicken curry over brown rice. I enjoyed the curry, next time I'm going to try their curry brisket over noodles.
They also have bubble tea! I tried mango milk tea with pearls and lychee black tea with coconut jelly. Both drinks were refreshing with a fruity taste and I liked that they weren't too sweet.“

“The Xiaohongshu recommendation didn’t let me down — it’s seriously spicy, so satisfying, makes you sweat, and goes perfectly with rice. The taste is absolutely amazing. This Sichuan dish is top-tier, no flaws at all. The portion size matches the price perfectly. Delicious, highly recommend!“

“We decided to drop by & order take out food . It only took 20 minutes wait , then went back to my car but my car won’t start on the first day of snow& was very cold. I called BCAA but it will take an hour & a half to arrive. Went back inside the restaurant & told the lady, she said ohh your food will be cold, offered us a table to eat( no dine in ) & gave us hot tea & bottled water. We are very thankful for their hospitality & kindness. It showed the true meaning of CARING.“

“Had high expectation due to the reviews. We only ordered a few dishes but they were a bit disappointing in my own opinion.
- The recommended Guoba Rou was a let down because it was basically deep fried breading in sweet sauce. The meat layer was so thin you could barely taste it. The fried breading was thick and chewy.
- Maybe we did not read the description but the egg plant dish was also in a very sweet sauce when we thought it would be savory. Its very heavy.
- Staff was nice and place was a bit small. If you want to eat in I would recommend checking in a bit early or reserving a spot.“

“Lives up to the hype! Dan Dan noodles here were sooooo tasty. I asked for less spicy, which was perfect for me as it still had the mouth-numbing sichuan peppercorn taste. Flavourful, had meat, and plenty of noodles. For $11 you can’t really complain!“

“Lovely couple run the restaurant, the decor is plain but who cares when the food is so delicious. I felt the price was reasonable for the fantastic quality and others that joined our dinner said it was the best they’ve had. “The food is consistently good with good presentation, prices are reasonable. Our server is always very attentive and pleasant, she excels at anticipatory service, reading your needs before you express them. The restaurant itself is very clean and tidy, maybe a bit too beige, could use some soft background music. Would highly recommend it.“

“This is our go to whenever we have small or big family gatherings. Fortune City has a good variety of Chinese dishes, ranging from soups, noodles, rice, vegetables and protein!
The dishes do have the “wok hei” which is something im always looking for when I try out a new restaurant. They have been consistent with their food quality and service. The reason why I gave it a lower score on the atmosphere is the restaurant is quite dated and the interior hasn’t really changed for many years. The bathrooms, especially for the men’s, can be cleaned and maintained a bit better. The chairs and tables are fine, but at times the seats have big stains or tears. Again, nothing to do with the food but does affect the overall rating!
Their dinner sets are pretty good if you have a big group. The noise can get quite loud but expected especially during peak dinner hours or on the weekends. My recommendation is to book ahead of time and reserve a table. Dim sum is also good here, though the only drawback again is sometimes when it is busy, even when you have reserved a table, you might get put on a wait list still. There aren’t too many good spots in Vancouver left like this place, I would recommend it overall to anyone, both new to Chinese food or have been looking for anther place to add to their go-to list!“

“I ordered the Dapan (Big Plate) Chicken. The food was good, though not my favourite. It was spicy and came with chicken, laghman (belt noodles), potatoes, and green and red peppers. You may want to order it to go, as it was served on a paper plate, which wasn’t very steady, and you can’t take leftovers home if you don’t finish. There’s also no free tap water available, even when asked, so keep that in mind. Be prepared to wait about 20 minutes for your food, as there’s only one person handling both orders and cooking.“

“Friendly family run breakfast noodle shop located in the food court attached to T&T in Surrey.

“Decent service. I ordered the dan dan noodles and salt and pepper chicken. The chicken was really good - juicy on the inside and not dry at all. The dan dan noodles came in a big portion, but I had to add some chili oil to make it spicier. The restaurant was a bit dark inside.“

“Food was excellent -- our compliments to the chef(s), especially for the duck egg yolk sauce with the 7.5 lb lobster that fed 10 persons and the special order spatchcocked (flattened) crispy skinned chicken stuffed with sticky rice!
All other 7 dishes were tasty too:
The soup
The 2-way Peking duck,.
The sour plum pork chop
The bitter melon w beef
The stir fried garlic pea tips.
The eggplant, tofu hot pot.
The tapioca Dessert.
All our birthday guests felt well-fed!
Only negative:
we often had difficulty catching the eye of 1 of the 2 very busy wait staff, to request a refill of hot tea/water pots everytime emptied.“

“Excellent and courteous service. Very clean premise. Price is very reasonable. First time coming to the restaurant and had a take-out. Unlike other restaurants, she right away opted out the tip option for card payment. She asked me to have a seat and provided me a cup of hot tea. Very impressive.
As there are many customers eating in, I believe the food must be good as well.“

“We've visited this place multiple times as a family and it never disappoints! The food is consistently delicious and the overall dining experience keeps us coming back. Most of the staff are warm and attentive. A couple of servers were a bit reserved, but it didn't take away from our experience at all. The only minor inconvenience is parking - it can get quite tight depending on the time you visit, so plan accordingly.“

“I always have had a good experience in the 15 years I’ve been coming here. Heidi and all the staff are wonderful. I love supporting them and seeing everyone. The large portions for dinner are incredible for the price!!! I always have left overs. I love that they offer many vegetarian options too. They offer many Canadian-Chinese dishes and traditional Chinese dishes with some Canadian/American favourites (like hamburgers). I recommend the mushroom fried rice, onion pancakes (it’s like rosti), or the bean spout chow mein... especially with the chili oil they offer at each table. But the big plate of broccoli in garlic sauce is my favorite if you want something light but filling. They also offer it with Chinese broccoli. My friends and family love the daily specials and combo plates... if you don’t want a big plate of 1 big thing, the combos plates let you get 3 of the main dishes: a fried rice, a chow mein, sweet and sour pork or chicken, etc. For Family dinners they even offer a family combo “dinner for 2/4/6/etc” and have different daily specials. They also offer breakfast, dim sum, wonton soup, and other items. I also recommend their french fries. They SO good but they always come fresh hot and crispy. (Just really good simple fries.) They used to be known as the Austin Heights Diner (1989-2013) if you’ve been a longtime resident of coquitlam, I urge you visit them at their new location.“
“Fairly large portion for the price. Lots of savoury tender pieces of lamb generously seasoned with cumin spice and a hint of chili heat. The onions and scallions were fresh and fragrant. I waited about 15-16 mins for the food, which seemed a bit slow for a food court but I didn’t mind knowing it was made to order as everything was fresh and hot when I picked it up. You can choose to eat in the food court (plenty of seating) or take away. This Taiwanese food stall seemed pretty busy with the most popular item being the Taiwanese crispy fried chicken nuggets…I think I might try that next time I’m in the Henderson Ctr mall.“

“I got the asado, coconut bun and the chicken deluxe steamed buns. The asado was good but had a couple of hard fat bits which kinda bummed me out. The chicken deluxe was definitely better and MASSIVE. The picture does not do it justice. The filling is really good and the egg is spectacular. I also wanted to highlight how it was a lot of bread though. The coconut bun had this really nice glaze on it and had a good amount of filling to it. I would say it’s slightly better than maxims or saint. germain.
The service is really good, the ladies working are super kind and will give you a fresh batch if you’re eating it right away. If you’re eating there it’s a table charge of $2.50 per person. It’s also cash only!!!“

“Amazing flavor, but watch your fingers!
I stopped by for a bowl of their signature clay pot noodles, and it was a bit of an adventure. First off, be prepared for the heat—the soup stays boiling hot in the clay pot for the entire meal. In the US, someone would probably be suing them over the temperature lol, but it definitely keeps the flavors intense!
The soup base was absolutely incredible—rich, savory, and deep. The beef brisket and tendon were the highlights; they were amazingly tender and melted in my mouth.
One thing to note, these are potato noodles (Tu Dou Fen). They are very thick and extremely chewy. Personally, I think I’d prefer a standard ramen-style noodle.
They have a unique deposit system here. You pay an extra $5 deposit for the clay bowl when you order. Once you’re finished, you return the bowl to the counter and they give you your $5 back in cash.“

“If you order the normal ayce, the meats you get are kind of the run of the mill things. Cheaper cuts that aren't anything special. The seafood is also kind of regular besides the full head on shrimp which was actually pretty good if you don't mind getting a bit messy. The cooked food like she shiumai was good as well as their egg tarts for dessert.“

“One of the things I really like about this hot pot buffet is the variety beyond just the hot pot itself. They offer a nice selection of complimentary snacks, side dishes, and desserts, which makes the whole experience feel more complete and enjoyable.
It’s also a great place to come with friends. The atmosphere is relaxed, there’s plenty of food to share, and everyone can find something they like. Whether you’re catching up or just hanging out, it’s an easy spot for a group meal.
Overall, a fun and satisfying place to dine, especially if you enjoy having lots of options!“

“Me and my husband wanted to try out the food here, so we ordered a takeout. We got the Shanghai noodle with chicken, curry beef, honey prawns, honey garlic chicken, spicy deep fried chicken, and tofu beef soup (I dont remember the exact names). The price for all of this is reasonable I would say, but we did ordered a lot. All were delicious and filling! The portions were just right, not too small or too much, which is what I like. We will definitely come back here when were craving for Chinese food! Sorry I couldn't take photos, we ate the food immediately when we got home.“
