“Pretty packed in off hours so that was a good sign. Just went to the beach so we were hungry. We have been to Xian before and was expecting authenticity. Noodles texture was well done and the menu seemed authentic as well. Vegetables was a tiny bit bland and the Rou Jia Mo could have been a little bigger. Looked like a family owned restaurant. Pricing is high but standard for Chinese food in Vancouver.“

Run by a resilient father-and-son duo, this West Vancouver hidden gem started a year ago with handwritten cardboard menus and Home Depot chairs that still had price tags on them.
Revisiting a year later, the charming, no-frills setup remains exactly the same, but the dining room is now completely packed with guests.

The cold noodles (liang pi), biang biang noodles, and Chinese burgers are the most popular items on the menu for good reason. Parking in front of the restaurant is not free and can be hard to find depending on when you go, so I recommend the free street parking on the opposite side of the street (near the Safeway lot).“

“This place is retaining the authentic HK chefs. I can taste it in most dishes. Try the lemon pork BBQ puff pastry. Or original chicken fingers with bone not the other kind. Please ask about free parking and try not ask for special requests dishes unless you are willing to pay Do stop by even though the yam was sweet to my taste.“

“Outta the way in a ghost mall this place has amazing dumplings. Perfect filling and dough. Actually the whole food court is a hidden gem of ethnic foods done right. It’s rather sad inside but spotless and clean. It would be a great place to pick up and take to go.“

The dumplings and noodle, both are so so good!! It was a rainy day and it looked a bit slow but I am for sure going there again when I come back in Vancouver later this year.

I could’ve eaten the whole another plate of the dumplings for sure if I had more time.

“Delicious! Vegan options available and new hours for pickup during the pandemic and lock down. Monday-Saturday=11-9 p.m. and Sunday: 11-6 p.m. Fresh chili sauce to take home in glass jar. Also Dumplings to take home.“

“Came for the Tuesday night Peking Duck special. All the food was excellent, as usual. Service was prompt, and pacing was great. Quality of ingredients was top notch in all the dishes.

If you park in the orange area of the parking garage and give them your license plate and stall number when you check in, you get free parking too!“

“Very authentic HK style bbq! Crispy duck skin on the BBQ duck; crispy, juicy BBQ pork belly, the soy sauce chicken was so tender! The garlic gai lan could be a bit more garlicky but the gailan was very fresh. The BBQ pork was ok. Curry beef brisket was nice and tender as well, but a bit salty for my personal taste, definitely not bad! Service was quick and friendly. I enjoyed looking at all the photos and decor :)“

“Stopped by for a late breakfast on Sunday and ended up staying almost two hours because the place was so comfortable to hang out in with friends. The sticky rice and the honey garlic ribs were both excellent, and portions were big enough that we had leftovers to split. Our server kept the tea topped up without us even having to ask, which made the whole morning feel relaxed instead of rushed. Parking right out front was a nice bonus since Sundays can get busy in that area.“

I’d never had bing before - we got the clay oven baked one with pork and preserved veggies and it was so good, crispy on the outside and super juicy inside. “We visited for my son’s 10th birthday dinner and everything was so tasty, if you’re Nigerian and eat at the Chinese restaurant in mega plaza Victoria island Lagos, You can definitely eat here just tell them to not put sugar in your food at all and you will be getting the exact flavor naija Chinese style. we had the shrimp fried rice and dragging noodles in soup with shrimp, tripe and vegetables, rookie mistake we ordered full noodles for the boys and single sweet corn soup for each parent. Portion was so generous we had to take it home, pretty sure that’s like 2 days worth of dinner lol.
Service was great and we felt very comfortable here. We live nearby so they will definitely see us a lot! 😁😁“

“Been coming here since they closed down the Richmond location and always buying the same steamed bao buns, pork turnover, pineapple buns, apple turnover which have not changed in taste and quality. Something else that's the same - the miserable staff and rudeness you come to expect from a traditional Chinese bakery (lol) The customers should be the ones who are not happy. C'mon... $3 now for a pineapple bun or an egg tart??? That's more expensive than the more refined Chinese bakeries!“

“Decent service. I ordered the dan dan noodles and salt and pepper chicken. The chicken was really good - juicy on the inside and not dry at all. The dan dan noodles came in a big portion, but I had to add some chili oil to make it spicier. The restaurant was a bit dark inside.“

“First night in Vancouver and this was our first dinner — cannot be happier! We ordered these two dishes, baked rice and fried prawns and it was so flavorful which got me wanting to order more. They were very big portions so we didn’t get to and I wish we were staying in Vancouver longer cause I’d definitely come back. My family is from Hong Kong so I know what’s considered good HK food. The restaurant was empty but don’t let that fool you into thinking the food is not good. The chef, who is the owner, shared that the neighborhood in general has been pretty dead the past year hence the emptiness on a given night but I can say the food is amazing and the service is just as great. The waiter was attentive and so was the chef. He offered other options of making the prawns for us which was nice. He also engaged with us and was super friendly. All in all, great experience, great food and will definitely be coming back here when I visit again!“

“Food tastes pretty good,
We had hot and sour soup, deep fried wonton steamed rice and chicken with garlic and chilli, this dish had onions, chalets, red peppers and I think a little mushroom.
Over all was good and not to expensive.
My only issue.
The floors in the dining area and bathroom were not so clean.
Dirt collecting in corners , we're floor tiles meet wall tiles, like its never been mopped or cleaned propperly.

Hope they can take care of that cleaning.
