“This place is inside a food court. They had Taiwanese bento that was totally authentic! The popcorn chicken was fresh and crispy, and the portions were huge, it was so much that my friend and I only managed to eat half! The side dishes were pretty great too. I honestly enjoyed all of them! The vegetables were served cold, which was a nice contrast to the deep-fried main dish.
Highly recommend!“

“Great decor, bright and clean. Friendly staff. Food was amazing and the dipping sauce was fantastic. We will be going back for sure. We tried regular and spicy broth. Wow spicy was too spicy for us. But the favour was nice. Note. Next we will get regular both, very tasty.“

“Spicy Pro Hot Pot 8542 Granville St, Vancouver, BC V6P 4Z7 Spicy Pro Hot Pot brings a unique and thoroughly enjoyable new dining experience to our neighborhood of Marpole. The aroma of the soup bases wafting from the modest storefront will stop you in your tracks and draw you inside. After choosing from a wide array of ingredients to add to one of three delicious soup bases, you can relax and enjoy the fun and cozy ambiance while the kitchen prepares your dish. When it arrives at your table in a generously large and elegant serving bowl you will immediately notice the care with which it has been assembled. Presentation is not lacking here and the money is being spent in the right place: the kitchen! I and my partner are not light eaters, and we come away stuffed and blissed-out for less than $50. The staff provide patient and thoughtful assistance to new customers choosing their ingredients and spice level for the first time. We love spicy food and usually order things hot, but the mild level is just right for us here.“

“The xiao long bao is very good. Nice and big, very juicy and nicely seasoned and not porky tasting. This small food court stall is making some of the best dumplings around. The pan fried dumplings were also tasty and juicy and the won ton soup was packed with wonton. Service is sooo friendly and welcoming. Worth trying to find this place upstairs in this food court near rice world. They sell out of the pan fried buns so don't go too late!“

“Tried the Cumin Crispy Burger (Beef) and it was seriously good — super fragrant cumin, juicy beef, and the bread was perfectly crispy.
I went pretty late, but the owner was still very welcoming and happy to serve.
Simple place, great flavor, definitely coming back.“

“I know this is a big name for Sichuan style cuisines, especially in fish. So we order a family set for 4 ppl. We were both satisfied with the portions and the taste. Overall it was very delicious. Not too salty, ingredients were fresh and good environment.“
“Been to at least 4 different Sichuan restaurants in the greater Vancouver and this is my favourite. The taste was authentic and there are dishes you can’t find elsewhere. My favourite tonight was the black and white mapo tofu and eggplant cold dish.“

“The rice rolls are the star of the show here. They're pretty tasty! They also have congee which is also decent. They can be crazy busy with a line and a wait sometimes, but other times I go and there's only a few tables occupied. I can't spy a pattern to it!“

“The logo looks like a deli/meat store but it’s actually part of a chain. I haven’t tried the others (all a bit different) but this one came highly recommended by our foodie friends. Food: 5/5 - They have 12 must-order dishes including a fried eggplant 🍆 which was SO GOOD. A blast of flavour including spicy, savoury, sweet, and herb-y🌿? It was lightly fried and not too oily. Basically I loved it. Our second dish was not from the must-try only because I’m a huge sucker for sour-spicy clear noodles of any type. Although it was not as good as my favourite version of this dish from the Aberdeen food court (Sichuan style) HOWEVER Richie could actually eat this one because it wasn’t as spicy haha🔥. Essentially a “lighter” version but still packed with flavour. It came on a hard-to-reach, raised bowl but I think that’s easy enough to tweak. The restaurant is still new and feeling things out. Our last dish was an omu-rice mapo tofu (lol) and Richie loved it, “It hits the right flavour in every way - not too salty, not too spicy, great tangy-ness, a little oily but immensely appetizing.” The manager said that they make the chili oil and spices from scratch. Prior to our visit we also tried their “sauce duck” or 酱鸭 which is a “thick” soy sauce, sweet duck (think Cantonese/HK roasted duck but sweet) which might not be for everyone but it’s interesting and worth trying if you like food that’s both sweet and salty. There’s also a Nanjing salted duck that we’ll try next time😊. Service: 4/5 - There was only one server aside from the manager today but both were wonderful at checking in and very quick to react to our needs. It’s also the first weekend of “dining-in” again so I wouldn’t hold it against them. Price: $$ - They have a good mix of affordable and fancy choices alike. Ambiance: 3.5/5 - My only complaint is that it’s a too bright inside (I think mood is very important) and I’m not sure what they want to be. It’s not exactly fine dining nor is it casual, nor fun/hip. But the food is good enough that it doesn’t matter. I think we will enjoying coming here and slowing trying everything. #richmondeats #vancityeats“

“I had a fantastic time at Drama Hotpot! the food was very delicious, the service was top-notch. The staff are very friendly and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. “It is actually good value to order half a Hainanese chicken combo, including oil white rice and a broth on the side. It is big enough for 2 people. I will definitely come back.
Their service is fast. At lunch rush, Empire Centre food court is a busy place. So, even the vendor prepares your food fast, you may still need to be patient to locate a table.“

“Piping Hot is such a great spot for deep fried food and hotpot! Everything was good and tasty, fresh ingredients, lots of variety to choose from and pay by weight so you can try a bit of everything. Definitely worth a visit if you’re craving something flavourful and comforting!“

“Food is delicious and served very fast. 推荐煎饼果子、茶蛋、小米粥。If you order delivery, the food is usually kept in very good condition as well - warm and crisp. I like their breakfast best. As for grills, there might be better options in town, but the price here is very fair compared to other places. So in general, this is still one of my favorite restaurants in Richmond.“

“I was so surprised and very happy with how good everything was! the person at the front helped me so much with all my questions and explained which to get. I ended up with the beef mushroom and because I got the large, I got an egg. There was so much food I had to save it for the next day! Next time I come, I’ll be getting the curry beef as that looked just as good!“

“I really like the soup. Lots of options to put in the hotpot, and the beef is super cheap at night. The spicy beef tallow broth hit the right spot for me, which is great because I don’t find most spicy options satisfying. I also like the fried buns.
If I could ask for one thing though, I would like if there were more option for single people. The prices were definitely made with groups in mind but I would love to go here alone. Otherwise I’m very satisfied.
P.S: I like Jiabao’s style“

“Yep, still my favorite lamb restaurant. This was my fourth or more visit over the past 5 years, and they've been very consistently delicious. All the lamb we've ever had has been deliciously tender. The cold marinated daikon carrots, the flatbreads, the wok-fried cauliflower, and the hand pulled noodle lamb soup are my favorites. The lamb soup is nice and rich and flavorful. Other good things include the lamb ribs and the lamb fried rice (no cumin, so a lighter flavor than I'm used to, and nicely smoky from the high heat in the wok. Pretty rich, but very delicious). They're very popular, especially on weekends, so be prepared for a wait (I was lucky this time). Generally, food is on the rich side, so come prepared to drink the automatically offered (mild) Chinese black tea.“

“Incredible dry pot it’s super busy will need to wait 1.5-2.5 hrs and it’s worth the wait. Even their non spicy is incredibly flavorful and they make the really spicy ones spicy. The chicken wing pot is my favorite and the bean curd, spam and the qq shrimp balls are all fantastic I would definitely recommend. Their udon pasta is great too. Overall reasonably priced probably spent 25-30$ per person and left very full“

“Wow what a yummy place with amazing service!
Soup was hot! Tendon and brisket were perfect! Wontons and dumplings were tasty! I would have ordered a 3rd bowl if I wasn’t so full! I went to get refills on the hot sauce too as that was so yummy!
It was the perfect hot noodle soup on a rainy day! I’ll be back for sure :)! There’s a holiday Dec promotion right now so go check them out!“

“Great spot in the mall. Perfect for lunch pre or post t&t shop. Super budget friendly. The combo was 19$ and hit the spot. Dumplings are made by hand so expect to wait a few minutes. Definitely brought us back to our travel adventures in Asia where food courts had amazing food. A rare find in Canada. Definitely worth eating here if you are at the mall and are hungry!“

“From the outside, you wouldn’t be able to tell that this restaurant serves such great food. The wok hei in their stir-fried dishes is among the best I’ve had in Vancouver. The flavors are excellent, the prices are reasonable, and it’s definitely worth coming back.“

“This little cha chaan teng is located on the ground level of a well-known supermarket. I’ve passed by it countless times over the years but never actually stepped in. Recently, I finally paused to read the menu posted outside and realized they offer a very affordable breakfast set, which convinced me to give it a try.
The interior is aged and simple, with no modern renovation or fancy decoration. It feels very much like a traditional neighborhood cha chaan teng — practical, straightforward, and focused on function rather than style. The breakfast choices are limited, just like many classic cha chaan teng menus, but the prices are quite reasonable, especially in today’s market.
We ordered a corned beef and egg sandwich and an egg and luncheon meat macaroni soup, both served with Hong Kong–style milk tea. The portion sizes were not particularly generous, but considering the pricing, it felt fair. The flavors were simple and familiar — nothing extraordinary, yet deeply nostalgic. It truly brings back memories of dining at small cha chaan tengs in Hong Kong.
One of the biggest highlights, however, is not the food — it’s the owner and staff. They are extremely friendly and chatty, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. You can tell there are many regular customers, and it’s clear that some have been visiting for years. The owner and staff even remember their favorite dishes, which says a lot about the strong sense of community this place has built.
Overall, it’s not a place you visit for gourmet food, but rather for comfort, familiarity, and human connection. I’ll definitely drop by again next time I’m in the area doing groceries.“

“My mom has been buying their food for 17+ years, either as takeaway meals or as big platters for parties and I am literally so attached to their food. I always feel so happy and comforted on days I get to dig into their crispy squid, tofu dishes, and fried rice!! Not the healthiest food, but definitely a wonderful treat once in a while. Please stay in business forever, I will be absolutely distraught and weeping if you close HAHA“

“A very delicious Chinese restaurant!
Every dish satisfies me and my husband very much.
Their specialty is the Hunan style Hunan cuisine series, but it doesn't feel overly spicy, it's all very flavorful and fresh.
The only drawback is that parking is not very convenient, and it is recommended to call in advance to book a seat.
Business is really great!“

“I highly recommend this place. Typical hole in the wall, with very nice contemporary ambience. A few tables in a room with very pretty drawings and doodling on the walls. The menus are in Chinese but the guy at the counter speaks English and volunteers to help you order. His claim is that “no other place in Vancouver offers authentic Chinese food like he does”. I believe him. The food was not oily, veges delicately cut and cooked, not too much sauce, delicate flavours intertwined with perfect cooking of the meats. Rice is on the house. Loved every single dish we ordered. I actually haven’t eaten such good Chinese food anywhere except at a colleagues house back in China. And that’s why the food is so good; it’ll remind u of home cooked food in China.“

“Very delicious, just like the food I had in China. The flavors are very authentic and the portions are very generous. The amount of food is more than enough for sharing. “I love this dim sum restaurant. I've enjoyed it twice, on two different occasions, while overnighting in Richmond on flight stopovers. Both times I went early in the day - just after they open at 10am. This time I thoroughly enjoyed the chrysanthemum tea with my meal. Staff is attentive and food is served hot and quickly. The food is excellent. The restaurant space is huge (lots of professional staff) and tables set with pristine white table cloths. On my stopovers I order enough food to try at the table and then I take the rest with me to enjoy on my flight. I highly recommend this restaurant.“
“It's an alright Chinese noodle place in the Yaohan food court. We ordered the hotpot noodle as well as the tomato based one.
The hotpot one is very good value as it has a lot of ingredients. And it stays hot since it is served in the hotpot. The tomato based one wasn't as good, but it might be our lack of exposure to this type of taste.
Wanted to try it since other restaurants had very long lineups but not sure if we'll try again as the other food court options are more suitable for our palette.“

“Hong Kong style cafe. It's Wednesday lunchtime so not busy and very attentive service.
Price has increased a little bit but the food portion remains big. Two persons can easily share a plate of fried rice or noodles.
Like most restaurants, they charge $0.50 for a takeout container now.“
