“We’ve been coming here for years, and the Crispy Eggplant (风味茄子) is still the reason we keep returning. It’s hands down the best crispy eggplant I’ve had in Metro Vancouver—perfectly crispy on the outside, tender inside, and packed with flavor.
This visit, the Guai Wei Fish (怪味鱼) was a pleasant surprise and ended up being one of our favorite dishes. The Sheng Jiao Fish Fillet, dumplings, and chili oil wontons were all very good as well.
What makes this place special is the combination of delicious food, generous portions, and excellent value. We were sad to hear they may be closing at the end of the month. Restaurants with this level of quality and affordability are getting harder to find.
Hopefully they stay open—I’d hate to lose my favorite crispy eggplant in Vancouver! 🍆❤️“

“This place has a non-stop line of people ordering and you can tell why. Their speciality is the Taiwanese style fried chicken leg (boneless) or their Taiwanese salty fried chicken nuggets combo with rice and 3 sides they give you. Before I get into their deliciousness of the chicken, their sides are killer too. They give you a handful of veggies of the day, a thick piece of matinated tofu patty, and soya sauce marinated egg. Protein heaven already. Their chicken is so freshly deep fried, just the right amount of spices, hot, juicy and tender on the inside. Sprinkle some of their red powder on the side if you want more heat. Their portion is huge! They don't skimp out at all! I normally eat 3/4 and pack the rest home. All for $15! Bring cash as with all Richmond vendors!“

“Great decor, bright and clean. Friendly staff. Food was amazing and the dipping sauce was fantastic. We will be going back for sure. We tried regular and spicy broth. Wow spicy was too spicy for us. But the favour was nice. Note. Next we will get regular both, very tasty.“

“The xiao long bao is very good. Nice and big, very juicy and nicely seasoned and not porky tasting. This small food court stall is making some of the best dumplings around. The pan fried dumplings were also tasty and juicy and the won ton soup was packed with wonton. Service is sooo friendly and welcoming. Worth trying to find this place upstairs in this food court near rice world. They sell out of the pan fried buns so don't go too late!“

“Tried the Cumin Crispy Burger (Beef) and it was seriously good — super fragrant cumin, juicy beef, and the bread was perfectly crispy.
I went pretty late, but the owner was still very welcoming and happy to serve.
Simple place, great flavor, definitely coming back.“

“The food was very delicious and tasted great. We got to wait to be seated but after that service was smooth. The staff was very attentive and professional. The atmosphere was cozy and authentic, overall all we had a great time dinning at this spot.“
“Been to at least 4 different Sichuan restaurants in the greater Vancouver and this is my favourite. The taste was authentic and there are dishes you can’t find elsewhere. My favourite tonight was the black and white mapo tofu and eggplant cold dish.“

“We spent four days in Vancouver and ended up visiting 銀記腸粉 three times. That alone says a lot about how much we enjoyed this place.
As the name suggests, they specialize in rice noodle rolls (腸粉), and they do them exceptionally well. Their 炸兩 (rice noodle roll wrapped around a fried dough stick) was the best I've had in Canada, and possibly the best I can remember anywhere. The fried dough was crisp on the inside, while the rice noodle wrapper was silky, fresh, and cooked to perfection. If you enjoy 炸兩, this is an absolute must-order.
We also tried the boat congee (艇仔粥), which was among the better versions I've had in Canada. Rich, flavorful, and generously filled, it was a pleasant surprise.
Another highlight was the noodle dishes. I ordered the wonton noodle soup on one visit and the beef brisket noodle soup on another. The noodles had the firm, springy texture that many Cantonese noodle shops strive for but often miss. In fact, the texture was better than what I've experienced at both 黎良記 and 沾仔記.
The wontons themselves were somewhat underwhelming, but the beef brisket was excellent—tender, flavorful, and well worth ordering.
The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. We have family members with peanut allergies, and when we informed them, they carefully reviewed the ingredients used in their dishes and clearly explained what was safe to order. Their attention to detail and understanding of food allergies gave us a lot of confidence.
This is the kind of place you visit for great food and quick, attentive service. If you're looking for somewhere to grab a delicious meal before continuing on with your day, it's an easy recommendation. If you're planning a long date night and want to linger over conversation for hours, you may be better off elsewhere. Personally, I hope it stays exactly as it is—I appreciate being able to walk in, enjoy excellent food, and be served promptly.“

“Spicy Pro Hot Pot 8542 Granville St, Vancouver, BC V6P 4Z7 Spicy Pro Hot Pot brings a unique and thoroughly enjoyable new dining experience to our neighborhood of Marpole. The aroma of the soup bases wafting from the modest storefront will stop you in your tracks and draw you inside. After choosing from a wide array of ingredients to add to one of three delicious soup bases, you can relax and enjoy the fun and cozy ambiance while the kitchen prepares your dish. When it arrives at your table in a generously large and elegant serving bowl you will immediately notice the care with which it has been assembled. Presentation is not lacking here and the money is being spent in the right place: the kitchen! I and my partner are not light eaters, and we come away stuffed and blissed-out for less than $50. The staff provide patient and thoughtful assistance to new customers choosing their ingredients and spice level for the first time. We love spicy food and usually order things hot, but the mild level is just right for us here.“

“The logo looks like a deli/meat store but it’s actually part of a chain. I haven’t tried the others (all a bit different) but this one came highly recommended by our foodie friends. Food: 5/5 - They have 12 must-order dishes including a fried eggplant 🍆 which was SO GOOD. A blast of flavour including spicy, savoury, sweet, and herb-y🌿? It was lightly fried and not too oily. Basically I loved it. Our second dish was not from the must-try only because I’m a huge sucker for sour-spicy clear noodles of any type. Although it was not as good as my favourite version of this dish from the Aberdeen food court (Sichuan style) HOWEVER Richie could actually eat this one because it wasn’t as spicy haha🔥. Essentially a “lighter” version but still packed with flavour. It came on a hard-to-reach, raised bowl but I think that’s easy enough to tweak. The restaurant is still new and feeling things out. Our last dish was an omu-rice mapo tofu (lol) and Richie loved it, “It hits the right flavour in every way - not too salty, not too spicy, great tangy-ness, a little oily but immensely appetizing.” The manager said that they make the chili oil and spices from scratch. Prior to our visit we also tried their “sauce duck” or 酱鸭 which is a “thick” soy sauce, sweet duck (think Cantonese/HK roasted duck but sweet) which might not be for everyone but it’s interesting and worth trying if you like food that’s both sweet and salty. There’s also a Nanjing salted duck that we’ll try next time😊. Service: 4/5 - There was only one server aside from the manager today but both were wonderful at checking in and very quick to react to our needs. It’s also the first weekend of “dining-in” again so I wouldn’t hold it against them. Price: $$ - They have a good mix of affordable and fancy choices alike. Ambiance: 3.5/5 - My only complaint is that it’s a too bright inside (I think mood is very important) and I’m not sure what they want to be. It’s not exactly fine dining nor is it casual, nor fun/hip. But the food is good enough that it doesn’t matter. I think we will enjoying coming here and slowing trying everything. #richmondeats #vancityeats“

“It is actually good value to order half a Hainanese chicken combo, including oil white rice and a broth on the side. It is big enough for 2 people. I will definitely come back.
Their service is fast. At lunch rush, Empire Centre food court is a busy place. So, even the vendor prepares your food fast, you may still need to be patient to locate a table.“

“One of the best authentic Northern Chinese cuisines in the Greater Vancouver Area. As someone with Northern heritage, I wholeheartedly recommend this place. Their deep-fried eggplant with ground meat, the steamed ShaoMai, and marinated steamed pork are wonderfully cooked. Been to this place many times now, and it never disappoints. Their food is so amazing, I feel obliged to share this with the rest of the world. Strong recommendation! You have to try this place!“

“I really wanted to try this place during our trip to Canada. We had an excellent time here, the food was delicious and the staff was terrific! Our waiter, Jamie, was so kind and helpful and really made our experience enjoyable! We are pretty new to hotpot, and he helped us find a good combo, as well as helping choose our soup bases, which were delicious. He even made our sauce for us and it tasted really great! Thank you Jamie for your help and care!!! You’re the best!“

“This is the first time I've tried the iron pot stew, a style popular in Northeast China, after visiting this restaurant three times.
It suited our tastes nicely, and the service was pretty good, It's definitely on my restaurant list.“
“I was so surprised and very happy with how good everything was! the person at the front helped me so much with all my questions and explained which to get. I ended up with the beef mushroom and because I got the large, I got an egg. There was so much food I had to save it for the next day! Next time I come, I’ll be getting the curry beef as that looked just as good!“

“Wait times can vary, but if you arrive before the restaurant opens and get seated in the first round, it's well worth it. Our dry pot arrived about 30–40 minutes after ordering, but the wait was definitely worth it. I can't handle food that's too spicy, so I always choose the mild spice level. Even then, it still has a nice kick! The flavor is incredibly addictive—the more you eat, the more you want. If you enjoy spicy food with bold flavors, this place is a must-try.“

“Richmond has a very large number of eateries specializing in Chinese food. Some quite outstanding, in fact. But when you are looking for an affordable option, and you are in the area near Richmond Centre, Aberdeen Centre, etc., then head out to the food court at Landsdown Centre right on No. 3 Rd. Among the many options here is R & H Chinese Food. On our last visit, we ordered one of our favourite items, Xiao Long Bao, the broth inside very tasty. We also ordered, Boiled Pork Dumplings with Chives, Wonton in Hot Chili Sauce, and had to go back for a couple more orders of the Xiao Long Bao. All dishes were very good. Maybe not the best you can find in Richmond, but certainly hit the spot, made right there in front of your eyes, and very affordable. They also have frozen items to take home, by the way... Finding seating at the food court might get complicated, depending on the day/time. But eventually, a table will be available, even for larger groups. Definitely recommend.“

“We’ve heard about Paul’s Kitchen for a long time. Every time I shop at Superstore, I walk past it, but unfortunately their hours are quite limited and they’re often already closed by the time I get there.
With the recent hype around pork patty rice, I finally took time off work to give it a proper try. I ordered the pan-fried preserved vegetable pork patty rice with two sunny-side-up eggs. As soon as it arrived, the aroma was incredible. One bite in, the outside of the patty was nicely seared while the inside remained juicy and full of flavour. Combined with the runny egg yolk and their special soy-based sauce, every bite was literally a taste bud bomb.
Service was friendly and efficient, and the food came out quickly. One thing worth noting: this place is cash only, so make sure to come prepared.
Definitely worth the effort — I’ll be back.“

“Yep, still my favorite lamb restaurant. This was my fourth or more visit over the past 5 years, and they've been very consistently delicious. All the lamb we've ever had has been deliciously tender. The cold marinated daikon carrots, the flatbreads, the wok-fried cauliflower, and the hand pulled noodle lamb soup are my favorites. The lamb soup is nice and rich and flavorful. Other good things include the lamb ribs and the lamb fried rice (no cumin, so a lighter flavor than I'm used to, and nicely smoky from the high heat in the wok. Pretty rich, but very delicious). They're very popular, especially on weekends, so be prepared for a wait (I was lucky this time). Generally, food is on the rich side, so come prepared to drink the automatically offered (mild) Chinese black tea.“

“Wow what a yummy place with amazing service!
Soup was hot! Tendon and brisket were perfect! Wontons and dumplings were tasty! I would have ordered a 3rd bowl if I wasn’t so full! I went to get refills on the hot sauce too as that was so yummy!
It was the perfect hot noodle soup on a rainy day! I’ll be back for sure :)! There’s a holiday Dec promotion right now so go check them out!“

“A very delicious Chinese restaurant!
Every dish satisfies me and my husband very much.
Their specialty is the Hunan style Hunan cuisine series, but it doesn't feel overly spicy, it's all very flavorful and fresh.
The only drawback is that parking is not very convenient, and it is recommended to call in advance to book a seat.
Business is really great!“

“I highly recommend this place. Typical hole in the wall, with very nice contemporary ambience. A few tables in a room with very pretty drawings and doodling on the walls. The menus are in Chinese but the guy at the counter speaks English and volunteers to help you order. His claim is that “no other place in Vancouver offers authentic Chinese food like he does”. I believe him. The food was not oily, veges delicately cut and cooked, not too much sauce, delicate flavours intertwined with perfect cooking of the meats. Rice is on the house. Loved every single dish we ordered. I actually haven’t eaten such good Chinese food anywhere except at a colleagues house back in China. And that’s why the food is so good; it’ll remind u of home cooked food in China.“
“Very delicious, just like the food I had in China. The flavors are very authentic and the portions are very generous. The amount of food is more than enough for sharing. If you order through Fantuan, I strongly recommend using the group discount — it’s a great deal. Highly recommended and will definitely come back again!“

“My mom has been buying their food for 17+ years, either as takeaway meals or as big platters for parties and I am literally so attached to their food. “I love this dim sum restaurant. I've enjoyed it twice, on two different occasions, while overnighting in Richmond on flight stopovers. Both times I went early in the day - just after they open at 10am. This time I thoroughly enjoyed the chrysanthemum tea with my meal. Staff is attentive and food is served hot and quickly. The food is excellent. The restaurant space is huge (lots of professional staff) and tables set with pristine white table cloths. On my stopovers I order enough food to try at the table and then I take the rest with me to enjoy on my flight. I highly recommend this restaurant.“

“It's an alright Chinese noodle place in the Yaohan food court. We ordered the hotpot noodle as well as the tomato based one.
The hotpot one is very good value as it has a lot of ingredients. And it stays hot since it is served in the hotpot. The tomato based one wasn't as good, but it might be our lack of exposure to this type of taste.
Wanted to try it since other restaurants had very long lineups but not sure if we'll try again as the other food court options are more suitable for our palette.“

“We only had two people dining, so we didn’t order many dishes, but everything we tried was quite good. The beef grilled pan had a rich, flavorful broth, and the portion size matched the price well. The doneness of the assorted beef offal was handled nicely too. The Guo Bao Rou was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside—definitely worthy of being their signature dish. It’s also worth mentioning that even after reheating it the next day, the texture was still great. Highly recommended.“
