“A lovely hole in the wall establishment serving up delicious Xi'an cuisine. The cold noodles (liang pi), biang biang noodles, and Chinese burgers are the most popular items on the menu for good reason. Parking in front of the restaurant is not free and can be hard to find depending on when you go, so I recommend the free street parking on the opposite side of the street (near the Safeway lot).“

“This place is retaining the authentic HK chefs. I can taste it in most dishes. Try the lemon pork BBQ puff pastry. Or original chicken fingers with bone not the other kind. Please ask about free parking and try not ask for special requests dishes unless you are willing to pay Do stop by even though the yam was sweet to my taste.“

“Outta the way in a ghost mall this place has amazing dumplings. Perfect filling and dough. Actually the whole food court is a hidden gem of ethnic foods done right. It’s rather sad inside but spotless and clean. It would be a great place to pick up and take to go.“

“Honestly the best place to go when you're too tired (or lazy) to cook and just crave a taste of Asian-fusion goodness whilst maintaining a single chin and non-oversized belly (no dishes being drowned in oil and msg like other fast food / Chinese restaurants) I've been a regular customer for about 8 years now (only half of the time the restaurant's been around, ~16 years) And I'm impressed at the consistency of the quality and freshness of the dishes. Not to mention the affordable prices (12 - 20 per person) I just hope you can set aside some time to try out the food at Super Chef. They're working really hard to provide tasty, affordable, healthy foods.

My personal favorites are Mapo Tofu, Szechuan dishes, Beef Yakisoba, Curry Chicken and Beef (extra protein!) and their Soy Sauce Chicken (monthly special!)“

“I'm new to traditional chinese foods but the lanzhou beef noodle was pretty awesome. Broth was beefy and rich but somehow still very bright and clean. Noodles were tender with a very satisfying chew. Careful with the chili oil! I love hot but damn you could blow up a meal fast with that stuff!“

If you park in the orange area of the parking garage and give them your license plate and stall number when you check in, you get free parking too!“

“Very authentic HK style bbq! Crispy duck skin on the BBQ duck; crispy, juicy BBQ pork belly, the soy sauce chicken was so tender! The garlic gai lan could be a bit more garlicky but the gailan was very fresh. The BBQ pork was ok. Curry beef brisket was nice and tender as well, but a bit salty for my personal taste, definitely not bad! Service was quick and friendly. I enjoyed looking at all the photos and decor :)“

“Really enjoyed our experience at Sushi Jin 10/10. The fish was so fresh and everything we had was delicious! The food came out at the perfect time too, we never felt like we were waiting around. “Stopped by for a late breakfast on Sunday and ended up staying almost two hours because the place was so comfortable to hang out in with friends. The sticky rice and the honey garlic ribs were both excellent, and portions were big enough that we had leftovers to split. Our server kept the tea topped up without us even having to ask, which made the whole morning feel relaxed instead of rushed. Parking right out front was a nice bonus since Sundays can get busy in that area.“

“Solid tasty dim sum with good portion sizes. Would recommend the tendon and tripe dishes which they do particularly well. The shrimp stuffed eggplant was also really good as was the meat stuffed fried glutinous dumplings. The clay pot rice is not bad but lacks the rice char on the bottom.“

I’d never had bing before - we got the clay oven baked one with pork and preserved veggies and it was so good, crispy on the outside and super juicy inside. Also tried the century egg pork congee which was perfect comfort food. Place is super casual, prices are great, staff were friendly even though I had no idea what I was ordering lol. “We visited for my son’s 10th birthday dinner and everything was so tasty, if you’re Nigerian and eat at the Chinese restaurant in mega plaza Victoria island Lagos, You can definitely eat here just tell them to not put sugar in your food at all and you will be getting the exact flavor naija Chinese style. we had the shrimp fried rice and dragging noodles in soup with shrimp, tripe and vegetables, rookie mistake we ordered full noodles for the boys and single sweet corn soup for each parent. Portion was so generous we had to take it home, pretty sure that’s like 2 days worth of dinner lol.
Service was great and we felt very comfortable here. We live nearby so they will definitely see us a lot! 😁😁“

“There’s counter service if you’re on the go or there’s a small dining room if you’re dining in. I only had the dim sum on this visit but their menu is extensive and it all sounds very good. The dim sum was tasty and fed my craving for it.

Heads up, they do not accept credit cards. If you have a debit card it must be issued by a Canadian bank. No international banks (USA included). They will, however, accept US cash. Thank goodness for that because that was all I had at that moment. Like they say, cash is king! If not for that limitation, I would have surely ordered more food! I’ll be better prepared next time.

“The Sweet and Sour Pork Ribs and Sweet and Sour Pork were both outstanding! They stayed true to the classic Cantonese flavors while adding some creative touches in both presentation and taste, making them really memorable and worth trying.

“Decent service. I ordered the dan dan noodles and salt and pepper chicken. The chicken was really good - juicy on the inside and not dry at all. The dan dan noodles came in a big portion, but I had to add some chili oil to make it spicier. The restaurant was a bit dark inside.“

“If you ever miss the Vancouver chinese food of the 80s and 90s look no further...this place is AWESOME. I had been meaning to go for years and stopped in for the lunch special. It must have weighed 3 pounds and everything made FRESH to go for 14 bucks. Classic sweet and sour pork with pineapple crunchy and crispy and the sauce was perfect. “First night in Vancouver and this was our first dinner — cannot be happier! We ordered these two dishes, baked rice and fried prawns and it was so flavorful which got me wanting to order more. They were very big portions so we didn’t get to and I wish we were staying in Vancouver longer cause I’d definitely come back. My family is from Hong Kong so I know what’s considered good HK food. The restaurant was empty but don’t let that fool you into thinking the food is not good. The chef, who is the owner, shared that the neighborhood in general has been pretty dead the past year hence the emptiness on a given night but I can say the food is amazing and the service is just as great. The waiter was attentive and so was the chef. He offered other options of making the prawns for us which was nice. He also engaged with us and was super friendly. All in all, great experience, great food and will definitely be coming back here when I visit again!“

“Went to Szechuan Chili with my girlfriend and we were seriously impressed! We've tried quite a few Chinese restaurants around Vancouver, but this place really stands out. Everything was packed with flavour, the portions were generous, and we honestly enjoyed every single dish.

We ordered the wontons in spicy garlic sauce, dry Szechuan chili ginger beef, Szechuan-style green beans, and Shanghai chow mein. The ginger beef was easily the highlight of the meal. Perfect balance of sweetness, spice, and ginger, with so much flavour in every bite. The wontons were also incredible, especially the sauce, which we couldn't get enough of.

Even the green beans were amazing, which says a lot because normally they're not exactly the most exciting thing on the table! They were savoury, nicely seasoned, and went perfectly with the other dishes. The Shanghai chow mein was delicious too, with a really satisfying texture and plenty of flavour.

We definitely ordered more than we needed for two people, but everything was so good that we just kept eating. Ended up taking some leftovers home, which honestly tasted just as good the next day.

Overall, fantastic food, generous portions, and a really satisfying meal. It's getting harder to find Chinese restaurants that deliver this kind of flavour and quality without being ridiculously expensive. We'll absolutely be coming back to try more dishes.
