“If you're in the mood for top-notch Southern BBQ, your search ends here at Whiskey Six.
Crafted from locally sourced, ethically raised meats and ingredients, each bite resonates with the love and passion poured into every dish.
I was fortunate enough that Marc secured a last-minute reservation for our anniversary, allowing us to indulge in the 4-person feast and bring home delightful leftovers.
Marc's homemade BBQ sauce is absolutely divine—hopefully, it will be available for purchase soon!
I highly recommend Whiskey Six—10/10.“

“We met up with a friend here for lunch and it was good. We were seated very quickly when we arrived.
After looking at their menu, at first we were thinking about individual entrees but we saw their whole menu through a QR code and got a Hot Plate to share. I wish they had a physical copy of their Hot Plate menus on the table.
We ordered the Hot Plate Teokbokki, substituted the pork for beef, and added ramen. It was nice how they brought the huge hot plate and had it grilled at our table. We waited a couple minutes to cook before we ate. Our hot plate had so many components: beef, chicken katsu, fish cakes, rice cakes, cheese, corn, steamed egg on the side, gyoza, egg in the center, and green onion.
I loved the fish cakes, beef, and chicken katsu the best. The beef was flavorful and I loved the texture of the chicken katsu. I really liked the corn and melted cheese on the side. Also the banchan on the side were tasty too. There were so many options to choose from since it came with so much, I liked it. Everything was delicious.
We had a good experience here and it's great to share hot plates if you have a small group.“

“Top tier Chinese BBQ! Elevated so don't expect the same prices as the old BBQ houses, but it's worth every penny. Has the HK style BBQ pork, crispy roasted pork, duck, gailan with garlic oil, and the curry beef brisket. All were great. Cute retro Chinese decor.“

“It was real quiet when we went there but don't be deceived the food is awesome! Had pulled pork sandwitch and a side of corn bread. The pulled pork was moist and flavorful. The corn bread was good but had a slight baking soda taste. The fries that came with the pulled pork sandwich were amazing. My partner had the brisket sandwich and it was excellent as well. To top it all the price was very reasonable for the quality. It was almost 70 CAD for 2 meals, a beer, and an appetizer corn bread basket. If I'm in the area, I'll definitely be coming back.“

“Much to my delight, I received a call last week from one of the two co-founders of Memphis Blue BBQ (MBBBQ) - George Siu. He felt it was time for their magnificent BBQ emporium - to give back to the front line nurses and surgeons who work tirelessly and endlessly, to help keep patients alive in this time of COVID - 19 crisis ! He offered to provide lunch for the Emergency Surgical Staff at MSJ Hospital in Vancouver - who it should be known - has been open during this global pandemic - to provide a hospital venue for urgent and emergency surgery. Kudos go out to George and Park for providing absolutely the best BBQ food available in Canada - to keep the staff on top of their game, ready to rock n roll during any surgical disaster in this world crisis situation. I have a bit of a personal experience with true BBQ, as I trained for 72 hours under the watchful eye of a seven time participant in the Annual Jack Daniel’s World Championship Invitational Barbecue in Lynchburg, Tenn., which has been running for 31 years. I have visited multiple BBQ restaurants throughout the planet - including 11 in Nashville, 4 in Memphis, 4 in Dallas, three in Austin, 2 in Portland and one in both Stockholm and Munich. I regularly use my Cookshack smoker, my house favourites being pulled pork and ribs that make the friends keep coming back for more. Every now and then I treat myself to the premium product coming out of Memphis Blues BBQ, right here in Western Canada, and I gotta say that they are hitting it out of the park. The best way for me to judge a BBQ joint, is firstly to see their BBQ pit area-and I gotta say-the MBBBQ set-up is like a low and slow BBQ nirvana, with dishes that compare or exceed the best in the business. Every time I chow down on their BBQ sauce, beans, pulled pork or ribs - I am flying high in my Michelin 3 star comfort zone, giddyup! But truth be known, their BBQ sausage hands down blows away any sausage I have had anywhere on the planet, bar none ....double giddyup with a whack of the killer MB BBQ sauce slathered on top!! George and Park - our emergency surgery staff at Mount Saint Joseph's Hospital in Vancouver is proud to enjoy and brag about the virtues of your world class BBQ, anytime, anyplace - thanks loads to you 2 transcendent BBQ visionaries !!! “Dropped by at a random time, so it was empty, hence quick service. Had the boneless secret sauce chicken—brilliant balance of sweet and savoury, with the sauce absolutely coating the chicken (which was disappointingly lacking the second time I visited), yet the batter is impressively crispy in all their chicken menu items. Complimentary pickled radishes were a nice touch, and I sampled some wings, which were just alright, but the sweet potato cheese balls are recommended. Only downside was the rosé tteokbokki, which just tasted like a plain cheese sauce, really.“

“Recently visited Paramount BBQ in Vancouver, and it was a delightful experience! This spot specializes in Chinese BBQ, offering a sumptuous array of meats grilled to perfection. We indulged in an extensive selection, including chicken skewers, squid skewers, clams, sausage, chicken heart, cartilage, lamb, and beef. Each item was exceptionally well-seasoned and notably juicy, making every bite a pleasure. The variety was impressive, and the quality of the meats stood out with their rich flavors and perfect grilling technique. The atmosphere of the restaurant added to the overall enjoyment, making for a great dining experience. However, it's worth noting that the price point is on the higher side. It cost us about $50 each, which might be considered pricey for BBQ skewers. Despite this, the delicious food and pleasant environment provided good value for the money.Overall, Paramount BBQ offers a fantastic culinary experience, albeit at a premium. Highly recommended for those willing to splurge a bit for quality eats!“

“Is so nice and convenient to have an authentic HK style BBQ place in the Marpole region to satisfy my crave for 叉燒,燒肉 etc. While nothing spectacular, I am so glad I don't need to drive to Richmond. Bento even includes a bowl of well made soup, the one included in mine was 蘿蔔湯“

“We had the best experience at Gyu-Kaku Japanese BBQ! Unfortunately we have complicated allergies to work around and our needs were met above and beyond. Our server Sheldon was wonderful! He was very thorough going to the menu and checking for allergens and he double checked with the chefs. They were able to make a few substitutions and custom solutions for marinades. Everything was delicious! We will definitely recommend Gyu-Kaku Japanese BBQ to our friends! Thank you!“

“As an absolute food crazed individual I have to say Chef Han's restaurant Kosoo + Raw Bar is one of my favourite restaurants, here and abroad, so far. The chef was away for a while, on his return we visited and it was brilliant as usual. I have never been disappointed only always impressed beyond my expectations. Welcome back Chef Han!“

“I recently visited Great Wall Mongolian and had a fantastic experience at their Mongolian grill. The concept of building your own bowl is fun and flexible; you pick whatever fits in the bowl – from chicken, veggies, to noodles. Once filled, the chef swiftly grills your selection right before your eyes, ensuring everything is fresh and flavorful. An added delight was the complimentary handmade bread, which was incredibly milky and a perfect complement to the meal. At just $22 for a grill, the pricing is excellent. While the interior has an older, traditional look, it adds to the charm. Service was prompt and friendly, enhancing the overall dining experience. Highly recommended for a fresh, tasty, and interactive meal!“

“Takeaway spicy seafood noodles and fried noodles
The portion of seafood noodles is large, which may be just right for two girls to eat together.
The seafood noodles are full of aroma and the soup is rich and delicious. It's still delicious when you take it home and the texture of the noodles doesn't get worse.
The spiciness is just right for Taiwanese, and it tastes better than the noodles I had in Seoul before. There is no such delicious Korean food in Tainan.
A good choice after getting tired of hamburger pizza“

“I normally find steamed buns kind of slimey. But these were sooooo good. I got the bbq pork and it was great. I ate it so quickly I went back in to get another. The nice lady behind the counter asked me if I wanted to try a different kind. She recommended the spicy beef it was even better. Great experience, great vibes. Very wholesome energy.“

“Probably one of the best bbq duck noodles I've had in town. The BBQ pork is also one of the best I've ever had. It was super juicy and full of flavor but not like msg flavor. It was natural flavor from the great quality of the bbq pork. Definitely a place I'd always come back to.“
“Friendly staff and very knowledgeable in their line of products. They gave us a lot of advices since we were buying seafood to bring to our family who lives oversea. They offered to help us keep them in the tanks until closer to the time we fly and we really appreciated it. Their prices are relatively cheaper than most markets so check it out if you need to buy bulks of seafood.“

“I am not Chinese, but never felt intimidated to try this place. The owners are very nice and it seems the place is busy, so they were especially patient with my questions and lack of knowledge. I ordered roast duck, bbq and roast pork and paid with card. They gave me a free bag, and were quick with chopping up my order and sending me on my way. I think more people should be open to trying places like this, because you have no idea what you’re missing if you never take the chance. The flavours of everything were amazing - perfectly salted meat, juicy and tender with a sweet and savoury marinade. Large portions and fair prices. They also have a good variety of meats and cuts, so I’m sure everyone could find something they’d like to try.
I am no stranger to this style of bbq, but coming here was a first despite living in Vancouver for over 7 years. I will return and recommend to friends!“
“This place is one of my favourite Vancouver meat shops since the 70s. Any kid who grew up in an asian family around that time had parents who came here on weekends. It has enormous personal nostalgic memories. The big reason is their meats.
Even though we’re eating healthier these days, if I want something from the past. This is the place I’ll go to. The store is typical for a chinese butcher meat shop. I was impressed by their cleanliness upon a recent visit but regardless I get what they are all about. Not modern or pretentious with ridiculous prices. But old school quality and prices are reasonable.
Flavours are still spot on and the staff are friendly and kind. I miss places like this and will continue to support them! Thank you Dollar Meat Store.“

“I had an awesome dining experience at this yakiniku spot! The staff were super friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. The atmosphere was really comfortable and clean—perfect for relaxing and enjoying some great food.?
The ingredients were super fresh and high-quality, which really made a difference. The beef tendon rice, the Alley Cut, and the Hokkaido Scallop Miso Soup—they were all seriously delicious! I’m already looking forward to coming back for more!
It was my first Mid-Autumn Festival in Vancouver and I found this barbecue restaurant through Internet crawling. The result was really eye-opening for me! The waiter's service was super good, considerate and attentive, making us feel well taken care of throughout the meal! ! The environment of the restaurant is also very comfortable and clean. It is really suitable for relaxing and enjoying food~
The ingredients are super fresh and you can taste many different parts of the meat at one time. I really recommend that people who come here must try the beef tendon rice, Alley Cut and Hokkaido scallop miso soup. Each dish is very good and must be ordered! ??“
