“This little spot is a hive of activity. Second Valentine's Day for my partner at this cracker of a restaurant. They have the sweetest staff, vibrant atmosphere. Serving the freshest, yummiest food. I have an iodine allergy (shell fish) the staff were excellent in keeping that in mind when ordering. Definitely worth repeat visits.Dietary restrictions: Allergies“

“Excellent flavors with staff that are friendly and very attentive. Unfortunately, unless you have a reservation it's very challenging to get a table regardless of the day of the week, so I wouldn't recommend to even bother trying, which ultimately is why I didn't give 5 stars as that personally turns me off.I enjoyed the Tenderloin Sizzling Steak, The Black Pork Rib, Chicken Karaage, and Cucumber O chan. I wouldn't recommend the Corn Kakiage, it's okay but didn't stand out like the others.“

“Hands down, best izakaya place in Vancouver. Love the cozy atmosphere! It absolutely reminds me of the Izakayas in Roppongi Hills and the food has all the authentic ingredients used in Japan with consistent quality and taste. The only thing is the cost has gone up after COVID but it’s understandable because of the negative setbacks it had on businesses! I would recommend coming here for a date night or party; overall, a great and fun place to go to.“

“As a former chef and being a Japanese descendant, I always seek traditional restaurants that don’t cut corners in all aspects nor exploit customers with ridiculous prices as I’m aware of what the purchasing costs of food and drinks are (lol)Hashigo gets my thumbs up in terms of food, service, price points and atmosphere. I felt like I was back in Japan, dining at a great Izakaya in all aspects! The food and the company was so good I unfortunately forgot to take photos and videos of all the items I ordered but definitely will next time! And soon!“

“A very comfortable Japanese-style izakaya, a very relaxing place, and the handsome guys and girls who serve are very friendly and professional. I followed the store on the Phoenixdarts App and found the one here. The handsome waiter is also practicing. He can speak English, Japanese and Korean fluently and is learning Chinese. Come check him out next time. We ordered oysters and sashimi, both were very fresh and affordable, highly recommended. We also ordered pot dishes, grilled dishes and dessert sundaes, and we all devoured them all deliciously. Our family was not disappointed by eating here on New Year’s Eve! There is a Happy Hour before 6 o'clock, which not only offers high-priced wine, but also simple side dishes such as Tangyang Chicken.“

“??Chicken liver: Roasted just right, slightly cooked but not fishy at all, the liver has a dense texture and a rich charcoal smoke flavor, one bite is amazing!??Chicken heart: It is also roasted very tender, not tough at all, and tastes the same as liver ?Premium beef tongue: This one is slightly chewy, roasted a bit too chewy and not chewy.??Quail egg pork: Very fragrant but a little oily, you can add some salt ?Chicken ball: Just average, the teriyaki juice is quite delicious but it is not coated on the meatballs and can only be eaten as a dip“

“Just went to this restaurant earlier today. We went with my family to try something new, and we were craving Japanese cuisine. Food was good. The sashimi salad was fairly large, with diced tuna, partially grilled salmon (my favourite), and scallops. Great portion and taste for $15.80! The grilled salmon bento box tasted good. 2 pieces of grilled salmon were provided, garnishes, a veggie salad with dressing, rice, and a potato salad. Great portion for only $15.80. The grilled mackerel bento box, like the others, was cheap and large ($14). Everything was the same between the two bento boxes except the fish served. I found the mackerel to be a little over salted... rice, salads, and garnishes were all decent. Miso soups were served with the bento boxes, also a bit too salty for me. Still drinkable, with an abundance of tofu, seaweed, and green onion. Service was good, immediately provided us with menus and water/tea right as we were seated. Food took about 15-20 minutes to come. The atmosphere was nice with quiet music playing in the background. If you're someone that can't walk very well up/down stairs, you have to walk up two flights of stairs to reach the seating area. Overall, good place for a meal on a cold rainy day! May come back again with friends to bring“
