“A great spot for a group meal with an interesting blend of Asian and French small plates. It was fun to start a meal off with some excellent beef tartare, have some amazing seafood dumplings and potstickers in the middle, and then close it out with a flat iron steak and pomme purée. Everything was delicious and the service was excellent!“

“This is quite possibly the best restaurant I’ve ever been to.

I don’t know if this is the typical experience, but whenever I go to a fine dining restaurant I end up enjoying the amuse-bouche and appetizers more than the entrees. Maybe I’ve just had bad luck. But not this place — every single dish was executed to perfection, and the mains were the best I’ve had of their kind: the fondue omelette, the pastas, and the fried fish were absolute standouts. The truffle fondue omelette in particular blew my mind. I can’t recommend this place enough!“

I was thoroughly impressed with the food and ambience, but was disappointed with the lack of service that I expected from a fine dining restaurant. I posted my original review with my experience, and management took the initiative to invite me back. My second visit met all my expectations. From the beginning to the end of our visit, all staff we interacted with were welcoming, accomodating, and attentive. I truly appreciate the improvements I observed in comparison to my previous visit. Again, food was amazing and the ambiance was great. A special thank you to our server, Jackie, for her impeccable service, and to management for their kind invitation.“

“Oh my… this was quite an experience! When going there, letyourself be surprised by the Chef’s Menu (Menu dégustation in french). Surprise after surprise, it will make you live a real culinary experience! And our waiter (fluently bilingual) was excellent and vey passionate! Along with the lady who brought each plate and explained to us what they were. And finally the manager, I believe, who came over a few times to talk about the plates, the wine and how the pasta were made the same day, very early in the morning The wine suggestion was also perfect! “Super delicious food and amazing service, very thoughtful regarding allergies as well. The food and service were so good that my friend ate his entire bowl even though he was full as not to look as if he didn’t like his ramen!!!
The broth is super creamy! Free spicy option as well and inexpensive refill.

“Finally found some time to book St Lawrence. Heard and read may good review and the hype is real. The small interior reminds me of Montreal style bistro. We got chef counter seat and it was great to see the action and also speak with the chef and his crew who took the time to describe each dish. Plating and taste was spot on. Service was attentive. Highly recommend for any special occasions just have to book a month out in advance if you want weekend and the chef counter seating“

“We were seated at the bar which I loved. There is something about an open kitchen and watching people work who are clearly so passionate about what they do. We had the radicchio menu and it was incredible! We started with the scallops, too and added in the wagyu beef alone with the wine pairing and each course just got better and better. The wine pairings were perfect. The staff was kind and knowledgeable and really made the whole night perfect. I will certainly go back as well as check out Chef Andrea’s other places. “Great food. Had wonderful sashimi & stake dinner. Flat Iron wagyu was soft & melted in my mouth & miso broccolini was exceptional!
Great cappuccino for after meal.
Service was also pleasant but just a minor thing.
1) Server poured the sparkling water that’s been opened for too long.
2) I was at the edge seat and my foot got stepped on a few times while the server changed the plates. Unfortunately no one said anything.“

“Beyond amazing really. Everything we ordered was off the scale in terms of taste, texture, temperature. One of the best meals we've had in the last 10 years. Can't recall what we ordered, but here are 2.
Nigiri set
King salmon (we had 2 of these..)
Countless other small bits and pieces.
The service was amazing, very Japanese, extremely friendly.
We left there elated, a complete food euphoria with tastes so amazing we talked about it for a while. One of the chefs my girlfriend reads up on says that he’s been following the Sushi Hill chef for a while and every time he eats there “my eyes roll into the back of my head”. We certainly had that feeling. Sadly we can now never again go to another sushi place in Vancouver lest we want to eat cold fish wrapped in rice and dead seaweed. But it’s a small price to pay. We’re already scheduled to go back April 12th.“

“After reading the reviews, we just had to try it. We got the cod fish and chips, the halibut fish and chips and the clam chowder. My favorite was definitely the halibut fish, it’s juicy and crispy; the best fish and chips i’ve had. The cod fish wasn’t the best I wouldn’t order it again. Over all i would definitely recommend this place for a weekday lunch/dinner.“

“We recently celebrated my husbands 40th birthday with an amazing dinner at Nightingale! There were 12 of us and had a family style dinner, which every plate that came out was amazing. I wish I lived in Vancouver because I would frequent Nightingale weekly. Service was prompt and they were consistently keeping the drinks flowing.“

“Every time I come here, my experience gets better and better. I’ve been here for lunch, dinner, and brunch. The prices are very reasonable for the quality, and the ambience is next level. The service is great too! Today, I went for brunch, which was really easy to book via OpenTable. I had the traditional Benny, which was delicious, and I tried my friends’ dishes as well – they were equally amazing. Highly recommend! It’s the perfect place to bring people visiting town.

Update: had a pretty disappointing experience the last time I went. Service was insanely slow. At some point I also asked for cream and sugar that never came, reminded him, it still never came and by the end of it, I had already finished my coffee.“

“Absolutely blown away by the seven course tasting menu. Surprised my boyfriend with a birthday meal here and the service was simply superb. Attentive and great pacing. Every dish was flavourful and spot on, and we loved learning more about each dish, the technique used and its history.
- bread course - so crispy and buttery. The cheese spread was amazing.
- chutoro - perfect one bite, the fish was so fresh and soft.
- baked oyster - wow, that sauce. So rich and packed with umami.
- octopus - cooked perfectly. Loved the crispy jalapeño on top.
- scallop - a perfect autumn dish. The lentil ragout was so rich and comforting and the crispy pork was a great touch.
- beef tenderloin - pleasantly surprised by the broccoli purée. I also loved the bone marrow sauce. Beef was cooked perfectly.
- sorbet - great palate cleanser. Loved the touch of grape.
- chocolate tart - so rich so beautiful. Great tart shell but with a rich gooey center.
- shortbread - wow I am obsessed. What a way to end the meal. Perfect chocolate matching the restaurants tiles, caramel center, rich buttery shortbread.

“I had high hopes for this restaurant. Everyone has been talking about it!! It didn't disappoint in a lot of ways. Butter beef was delicious(amazing), beef luc lac was really good as well (but not amazing), two kind of dry noodle??(forgot the exact name but this was just okay to mediocre imo)
And people were going nuts over the wings but they were just okay. I forgot but had better wings(similar style too!!) In Ontario(I wanna say somewhere in marhkam)

I am tempted to try again few more times to explorer to see if there are other dishes that would amaze me. If I can find one more like that, definitely 5 stars.“

“We live in North Shore and are regulars at Wooden Fish and this is our first time at Pho and Roll. Very impressed with their food and atmosphere. More upscale than Wooden Fish but both are excellent. We were worried about parking but had no issues finding a spot right away on a side street (lots of parking on the side streets and parking lots as well). We will return.“
