“I recently visited this charming coffee shop and bakery and was thoroughly impressed by the delightful ambiance and delectable offerings. The cozy atmosphere, coupled with the aroma of freshly brewed coffee and baked goods, created a welcoming and inviting experience. The baristas were friendly and knowledgeable, ensuring that my coffee was made to perfection. The selection of pastries and baked treats was extensive, each item bursting with flavor and made with high-quality ingredients. I highly recommend this establishment to anyone looking for a delightful coffee and pastry experience. A true gem in the world of coffee shops and bakeries“
“This review is for the potsticker dumplings and the wonton and BBQ pork fried rice. Coming from Japan and really loving the vibe of the place, my partner seemed to have a found love for the food. She said the potsticker dumplings were some of the best she’s ever had in Vancouver and I would agree. She loved the wonton which I’ve always described as a style of wonton that was the de rigueur before the shrimp wontons came from Hong Kong in the eighties. The old school home made style Cantonese flavours are ever present here in their Chinese food. It’s one of my favourites which is getting harder and harder to find these days. Now if they decide to make that old style Wok hey flavoured minced beef and rice with fried egg. I’ll tell everyone all over again to get that! (But it’s not in the menu). Maybe they’ll add it to the menu? Anyways, I was happy that I introduced a new fan to the Northern Cafe and more happy that I got their special hot sauce! And yes, I do agree that when Yelp said they were number one. They still are!“
“I love this place! First time being here and I'm hooked. I had a Carmel Frappuccino and it tasted exactly how I always want them to taste ^-^ the chicken and bacon panini was delicious, and the bread was fresh made. The carmel cruffle was the perfect crisp and tasted absolutely delectable. ? will recommend. It's definitely added to my list!“
“The food is halal, which is not common in Vancouver. And the quantity and taste was better than you would expect around there. Would definitely eat again!Vegetarian options: There are many Keto and Vegetarian options just like there was meat options.“
“What a gem of a place! Owners are super kind and thoughtful and it shines through their food as well. Their hojicha latte is a must try as well as their uni udon. The flavours are well balanced and soothing to the soul - the salad that came with the udon balanced out the creaminess of the uni and I will be thinking about this wonderful breakfast for a long while.Plus, Godzilla onesee cat is a vibe. Will be coming back again and again and again“
“If you are like me and growing up in a household with “traditional, slow cooked, 12 hours on the stove” kinda’ dishes were just another regular Tuesday night dinner, you know those flavours and dishes are almost impossible to find elsewhere. La Tana has managed to create the same flavours, dishes and love that I remember so dearly sharing with my family around the table. Thank you La Tana“
“Amazing quality, presentation of food, prepared by the best talent in the city. Outstanding service with elegant drinks and cocktails complimentary to the food dish selection on the menu. staff is very friendly. hands down one of the best places in Vancouver to spend a evening.“
“Love this cafe! I am new to east van and this cafe is easily my favourite place to visit. It has a perfect cozy cafe ambience, like literally straight out of those lofi cafe study videos lol! The latte's food and pastries are great. The lemon loaf is literally the best I have ever had. The staff are lovely and the community here is really nice. It's the only place I can study properly for my finals“
“Love this place! If you weren't aware, ahead of time, that it was vegan, you'd never know. Just letting you non-vegans know this, so you're not scared away. :-)I had a latte and the soup/sourdough special. OMG, the bread was amazing! I was savoring the taste an hour later. Soup and latte were excellent, too.I don't know the name of the music, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. If I have one complaint, it's that it feels, as mentioned by a previous reviewer, a little like an office lunch room. It is not the most welcoming environment. That said, though, I will definitely be back. So nice to have a complete vegan coffee shop.“
“Best Lahmajun and Pide!!! Free coffee with foodWe heard about this place from a friend at our break time, we decided to go and try their Lahmajun. Wow, we were amazed with the taste and prices! The Lahmajun I should say is the best in Vancouver based on the quality, taste, and the amount of beef used on the bread. Also, it is only 5.99. I also ordered Pite for to go, but I just couldn't resist and wait, and I ate the whole dish there. It tasted so delicious, and the crust was amazing, it reminded me of the Piroshki dough. We also got Ayran for only $2 which was very tasty. The prices are very affordable for the quality and taste.2 Baklava for 3.25 is the best deal! The staff are so friendly and helpful. They were so welcoming and nice.We were actually offered free coffee with our food!“
“Delicious vegan treats! My boyfriend and I ordered the banana bread, which was delicious and affordable priced. It is made with olive oil and vegan butter. You really can’t taste the difference from non vegan pastries. Only $4 too for a big and moist slice. He also had the mocha which he enjoyed. So many delicious pastries - savoury and non-savoury. Cake options too.Love the airy space (even though it was a bit small) and alternative milk options. It was calm and relaxing to sit there and enjoy the treats.Erin was super friendly when I introduced myself as a fan, having followed her Instagram and been anticipating trying her bakery. She kindly gave us 2 free pieces of spanakopita to try, fresh from the oven.I will definitely be back and will tell my plant-based and non-plant-based friends about this cafe!“
“I really love this little place in the corner of Gastown. I think it's runner by these two old gentlemen, and it feels that they were friends and one day decided to open a small sandwich shop and serve people affordable food with decent quality and a smile :)The food is legit good, nothing fancy just a simple sandwich that is made with mostly common ingredients, but complimentary to one another, bang for your buck to be honest specially if you get them with the soups.Service is to the point they get your order at the cashier, and bring your food, and they leave you alone to enjoy the scenery of the window or just suck in the old school antics vibe of the interior based on where you choose to sit.“
“5-Star not only for their coffee but also service. The staffs are friendly and polite. My latte is perfect. For breakfast, the avocado toast is very refreshing with a lot of cilantro mixed. Recommend to add poach egg as it goes really well together. The breakfast BLT is also tasty. Highly recommend!“
“Amazing cozy cafe with fantastic cakes and light food options including sandwiches and korean food. Definitely try all the different cake flavors! The owner makes the most delicious cakes that have perfect sweetness and they have so many different options that we will definitely be back to try every flavor. The owners are also really nice and caring. The 5 star review on google maps speaks for itself.“
“This is such a cute spot!! I visited yesterday to have a little snack and read my book on a nice day. There aren’t too many seats but most people seem to get their drinks and food for takeout. Both employees behind the counter were very kind and helpful, the girl was asking me about my book.I ordered the salted caramel crème brûlée, pikachu macaron, and thai jasmine iced tea. All of it was absolutely delicious and so so cute. The macaron was my favourite. I’ll definitely be back :) ?“
“This place repeatedly delighted this skeptic. You walk in and there's a small case with rich-looking pastries and a few unprepossessing looking sandwiches with a couple of low key people behind the counter and a not orderly line. The line worked itself out amicably (and continued to do so). I ordered a hot drink, and I was hungry, didn't want something sweet, so I grudgingly ordered one of the premade breakfast sandwiches, which I typically consider a recipe for a poor taste experience. My name wasn't taken, so I thought, I'll have to keep vigil to make sure I get my food - also not a big fan of playing "Who's latte is this?". Humph - not a fun game. Sat down with the friend who picked this place and started chatting. Our drinks came up, one at a time, we fetched them, they were both tasty and of good temperature. Yay. Eventually, our food was actually brought to us, which was a really lovely surprise in large part because that place was constantly hopping with a consistent influx of people staying and dropping in and those gals were amazingly keeping track of things despite being seemingly run off their feet - *respect*!! The sandwich itself was really good, so much yummier than I thought it would be, and not overly fancified; just well seasoned - not dried out as I'd feared - scrambled eggs with a little spinach on a heavenly brioche bun. Really well done. In a neighbourhood where I have tried most of the other options for daytime cuisine and been left wanting, I wish I'd tried this one a lot sooner and I will definitely return. Thanks for a great breakfast!“
“A quaint, super cute neighbourhood cafe. The staff is lovely as well! My partner and I love to get breakfast wraps & coffees here whenever we are in the area and are always greeted with a smile, yummy food, and they have happy hour deals on handcrafted beverages as well which is a bonus! Love the meat lover wrap and their Helka nut latte, 10/10 :)“
“It is a cozy lovely little coffee shop with great cinnamon roll and coffee! The interior is small yet airy. Service was awesome!! It’s a great place to get together with friends for coffee breaks and snacks. Definitely will go back again.“
“The ultimate coffee-geek experience in Vancouver. This place has a unique vibe that makes you want to explore all their brewing methods and taste all their coffees. Ordered a flat white and was surprised at how small it was. Shrinkflation is everywhere these days. It was also not as hot as I would have preferred it to be. That being said, the service was great. Though we arrived 30 minutes before closing time and sat down to enjoy our order, they didn’t make us feel rushed. We’ll be back to try something new and will definitely order more waffles!“
“La Cuisson Café offers a delightful experience for anyone seeking a cozy spot with an impressive menu. The ambiance is warm and inviting, reminiscent of a Parisian bistro with a modern twist. Their coffee is exceptional, boasting a rich and smooth flavor that coffee aficionados will appreciate. The highlight, however, is their patisserie selection. Each pastry is a work of art, perfectly balanced in flavor and texture. The staff is friendly and attentive, adding to the overall pleasant experience. While the prices are a bit on the higher side, the quality and atmosphere make it a worthwhile visit. Ideal for a leisurely brunch or a relaxing afternoon coffee, La Cuisson Café is a hidden gem that promises a memorable culinary journey.“
“Me and my friend were in the café 3 times in just a week because it was so delicious. They have the best avocado toast i have ever eaten. Also the food came fast and the cashier was really friendly. We would always come back and recommend it to everyone in Vancouver. We also tried their Easter Cookie which was great too!!?“
“The Truck Stop Cafe is a 50's- 60's kind of cafe. Run by a family. Great food, clean place, friendly staff. My favorites so far are Salisbury steak, mashed potatoes, mixed vegetables with a bowl of homemade beef or chicken vegetable soup. And I like the breakfast eggs, bacon, hash browns and toast. I'll be back to try another menu item. Truck stop cafe thank you for the delicious food and great service.“
“absolutely delicious brunch here this morning. the eggs in purgatory were packed full of flavour and beautifully presented, so much so that someone waiting for a coffee asked what dish I’d ordered so they could get it on their next visit!more than a little disappointed to find out that the gelato cart outside the cafe does not in fact have any gelato in it but I’ll let it slide due to the tasty food.great server too, who was attentive and gave us a comprehensive explanation of the menu. I stand by my recommendation for him to retry The Italians after a poor pasta experience in 2020. I’d be happy to accompany him and should he still not be satisfied, then dinner is on me.“
“Best breakfast sandwiches you can find for a long while. The muffins are all baked fresh and are great for indulging in a sweet treat. It`s a cozy space, and the whole cafe has a unique vibe. The staff are funny and friendly, always willing to strike up a comversation. Great coffee to boot. All around a great little cafe!“
“They have Swiss water processed decaf. Service is extremely kind, patient (with my several questions), efficient, and friendly! Latte with half soy half almond milk and some cinnamon was amazing and very well priced. I appreciated that they had some outdoor seating on this sunny day.“
“The reference point for specialty coffee in Western Canada, Revolver is a hip coffee joint located in the gastown district. They serve excellent espresso and can prepare coffee in a myriad of different ways such as cold press, siphon and pour over. Although they don’t roast their own coffee, the feature the best local and foreign roasters including Phil and Sebastian from Calgary, Bows and Arrows from Victoria and superstars Tim Wendelboe from Oslo and Rubens Gardelli from Rimini.“
“I had such a great experience at Viva cafe & Bakery ? I’m coming to this place since a while and new some Pastry chefs who worked there in the past. Here I am again and that time I’ll let a review for everyone to enjoy their visit to the coffee.I got myself two sandwiches, apparently I was hungry that day, is that the word ? Lol. I choose the Chicken pesto and the breakfast muffin. As I came late I didn’t get the chance to try the sweet treat that I wanted. So let me get back to the sandwiches ?They were simply divine ! Delicious. Couldn’t figure it out which one I prefer. The chicken pesto was excellent, the ciabatta bread crunchy and crusty just enough, the chicken was real chunk of thick and tender cooked to the grill, still juicy but not loose, the pesto almost intense. As soon as you bite it once you’re already biting for a second time without awareness… that’s a 12/10. Simply my favourite sandwich in town so far, period. For the breakfast muffin, same same, the bread is delightful, the ham so flavourful, spinach well seasoned, and the egg ? so nicely cooked. Great job, I highly recommend and strongly suggest anyone to try them, you won’t be disappointed. The team is really nice and helpful, smiling and friendly. The location is really cute, and their patio is meant to be enjoyable.See you next time !!! I’ll come back for the sweet treat ? ?“
“Love Mah Milk bar, cozy place to grab a coffee and snack to go or stay in. We stopped in for a coffee and toasties, both were excellent. The owners are so friendly and always greet us with a huge smile. Also, the specialty groceries are excellent and worth stopping in to check out.“
“Honestly the food was so incredible. The chef was humble and a genius and the woman who helped me at the front immediately felt like my mom, away from home. She knew everyone's name. Made me feel safe and warm and I can't wait to go back. SUCH an incredible experience.“
“☀️ Morning Vibes at La Luce Cafe ?? Hit up La Luce Cafe for breakfast and oh man, was it a treat! Scooped up a sandwich, a latte, and their Plain Croffle – talk about a breakfast of champions! Everything was super tasty and the portions? Big enough to make your belly happy.☕ The place has this cool, laid-back atmosphere that's just perfect for those lazy mornings or when you need a cozy spot to wake up. The coffee's on point, and the menu's got a little something for everyone.? The crew at La Luce? Absolute gems! They make you feel like you're part of the fam. Whether you're a regular or just dropping by, this cafe's got the goods – great bites, awesome brews, and the friendliest vibes around. Can't wait to go back!“
“Beth, the owner is great. She serves the community of False Creek, but also those who are experiencing financial difficulties. There is a donation fridge where you can drop off what you don't need for others to pick up. Local art is shown inside amongst a barrage of oddly, yet interesting mirrors. I go there for the hot chocolate and gingerbread molasses cookies.“
“I had a tiramisu latte which I loved! So I can't really comment on the quality of food.As far as regular latte goes, I didn't like it. It was way too milky and too less caffeinated for my taste. That's why i cant give 5*However I recommend this place if you are in the neighborhood.“
“Whatever amazing things people tell you about this place it is all true! Jam cafe is breakfast food heaven and the food is blessed by angels. I love their egg Benedict. I don’t think I’ve ever had breakfast food as delicious as this place makes breakfast food. My bf does not like pancakes (he’s a weirdo) but loved their red velvet pancakes. I heard after we left that the lattes they make are amazing and it’s unfortunate I did not get to try one. My only complaint is that they don’t have a shop in Toronto where I’m from.“
“This place is a steal! I don’t know how long this will last but these glasses are nice and they come with prescription. What’s more is that you get a free cup of coffee when buying a pair of glasses. The coffee is good and the pain au chocolat does not disappoint. It can be a bit crowded but there are power outlets.“
“If I were a kitty waiting to be adopted...I'd definitely want to be hanging out here.Adorable happy kitties very well taken care of. Excellent staff who remind of us of simple respectful kitty viewing rules. I highly recommend this place.“
“I was working a conference in the Vancouver Convention Center, so I found it easy to stop by for a quick bite around 8:45am on a Friday. I was surprised to see that there was no other customers around, and there were many tables open and available. I bought the brekkie croissant without the aioli (no Mayo or parsley either!) and a chestnut praline latte (seasonal drink). Both items were ready within 5-10 minutes of ordering. The food and drinks are very picturesque/ definitely instagrammable. While the latte came with very cute latte art but it wasn't anything to write home about taste wise. I couldn't taste any chestnut praline notes at all - just tasted like a regular latte. The sandwich had VERY fluffy eggs, definitely on the wetter side, and the croissant was nice and toasty / flaky. Through no fault of the staff, I got kind of sick of the sandwich about half way through eating it. The eggs and cheese were definitely egging and cheesing. Price wise it's definitely not inexpensive but it's also not outrageous. It seems to be on par with other establishments in the general vicinity.“
“Good cafe near Kits Beach. We tried the latte, chocolate croissant and skor cookie ?Loved the croissant, even though we got it at 5pm it was super fresh and the layers were still crisp with a soft center. The latte was made well, maybe I would have enjoyed a stronger coffee. The cookie was good but just felt a bit off, I tend to like more chewy cookies.Visit this place if you like coffee and croissants!“
“Went for a quick lunch with a friend. I got the BLT with tomato soup. It was very tasty. The bacon was perfectly cooked and the sourdough was crispy and delightful. The soup was a nice combination. My friend got their chocolate croissant and she very much enjoyed it also. Customer service was great. Will be back again!“
“I am very picky about my matcha and this is my favourite spot to grab a matcha latte. They use a nice grade of matcha, prepare the matcha base properly with a matcha whisk, and the matcha to other ingredient ratio has been consistently good!Their hojicha latte and coffee drinks are also very good! LOVE the baked goods here. The staff are also wonderful! It’s located at E Hastings and Garden Dr along the main road (accessible by the R5 bus or 7 Nanaimo). Seating is limited, but the ambience is so cozy.“
“Nice and quiet cafe great for studying or working. I really liked their banana loaf, and the barista took his time to redo my London fog because it wasn’t too hot. I was only expecting that he would heat it in the microwave but appreciated that he went to a great length for customers! Highly recommend this place.“
“This is genius! Why didn’t anyone tell me that double croissant sandwiches exist?!I just wanted to say, ‘OMG, nothing but WOW! ?Double croissant with mortadella, perfectly cooked egg with a runny yolk, Swiss cheese and mustard aioli.A must-have when I’m in Vancouver! ?Highly Recommended “
“Lovely coffee place. Got an americano and a Nutella crepe. The americano can use some work and they can be more generous with the Nutella. It’s a small shop so there’s limited seating. It’s super cozy but a little cold (they had the A/C on a 5°C weather + rain). They also have a lot of small business products like candles, pasta, eggs, ice cream, soaps, etc.Lovely coffee place.“
“A hidden gem of a dining experience. My wife and I have been going for several years. It only got better with first-class chefs and front-line staff overseeing the operation. Exceptional food and prices plus you get to witness students at VCC being trained in all aspects of fine dining. I can see why it is an exceptional program. The senior instructor Dennis has an art of making you feel at home and we can see that same nature displayed by his students under his guidance. Wish I was that age again. So well executed.“
“Love taking classes here. Renée and Farzana are so patient, fun, and educational. I have learned a lot of gluten free / vegan recipes that taste just as good or even better than traditional recipes, which are also much healthier. I have made these recipes with family and friends which were cleared off their plates. :)“
“So much to say. This cafe is best in class. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. Devon, always has a lunch special and the place is filled with regulars - all of which he knowns by name. I have a lot of love for this place - You’ll be missing out on a wonderful experience if you don’t try their coffee and teas. Come enjoy something special here!“
“I was very excited to go to this place and it certainly didn’t disappoint. Kunefe wasn’t as good as I hoped (6/10) but Borek, and mixed plate -especially Baba ganoosh and eggplant salad- were top notch (9/10). Turkish coffee was served in traditional form, loved it.I suggest spinach and cheese borek over cheese or the Mediterranean.“
“Legit the best breakfast spot in Vancouver! I always order the breakfast sandwich + coffee combo deal, it's such a delight. Affordable, healthy, convenient, and tasty. The drip coffee is actually the best I've had. Plus the staff are super friendly. I will remain a regular for life :)“
“Visited Pallet with friends and had an amazing time! The staff, especially the manager, were incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home. The atmosphere was fun and lively. Not to mention, the food and drinks were delicious! Highly recommend stopping by for a great coffee experience.“
“I read that the sandwiches were good and indeed the egg sandwich I had was superb!!! The toast was crisp, the ingredients were generous, tasted fresh and went so, so well together. I was really FULL after half a sandwich. Definitely a worthy and delicious purchase. As someone mentioned; no tipping charge for takeaways which is really appreciated“
“Very impressive. I was just walking by and decided to stop into the place. they guys were so friendly and amazing. I highly would recommend their awesome food and serviceKid-friendliness: Cool staffWheelchair accessibility: Yes appears to be so“
