La Tana has managed to create the same flavours, dishes and love that I remember so dearly sharing with my family around the table. Thank you La Tana“

“BaHar you kidding me? This was so good. We got the turkey sandwich, pistachio baklava, and a frangipane brioche bun and everything was a huge hit. The bread they use for the sandwich is incredible (make sure to get it heated up, it's 10/10 crispy). Baklava tastes like the best pistachio and cardamom, and the frangipane brioche is not too sweet, but perfectly soft! Plus the staff were so kind! Will absolutely be coming back.“

I added a medium hot sauce but probably could have chosen a spicier hot sauce since the avocado 🥑, tomato 🍅, and cheese 🧀 were good counterweights to the hot sauce. Found a great choice of lots of sodas. I had the Wildwonder Lemon Ginger soda.“

“This is my go-to place to get food on my lunch break! They have a great selection of vegetarian food and the food doesn’t feel heavy or greasy (even the samosas— where other places I find taste like oil). I like that there’s options to add extras or change up the bread for the sandwiches if I’m extra hungry that day. Not sure if he’s the owner? but the guy working is always so friendly :)“

“I tried the Hojicha Banana, and it was pretty good. It had a generous layer of banana puree at the bottom, topped with hojicha milk. The banana flavor was quite strong and almost completely overpowered the hojicha, so I'd love to see a better balance between the two.
They also had some ice cream and other desserts that looked really good. I'd definitely come back to try them next time.“

“We stopped in to try the Everything Bowl. It did NOT disappoint. The flavors were amazing with beef, bok chop, wontons, and the most perfect noodles! We sat outside in the sun. Devin, the owner, was so nice and even told us some other favorite food places of his to try later in the day.“

“Very cute locally owned shop. Got the egg, cheese, and tomato breakfast sandwich on multi-grain sourdough bread as well as the ABC (apple, beet, carrot) juice and both were SO flavorful. If you like egg sandwiches, this is definitely the place to go. Small breakfast menu as their other breakfast option is a wrap which had some bacon, ham, salsa, and I think another meat.“

“Accidentally placed my DoorDash order as pickup instead of delivery, and unfortunately, DoorDash wasn’t able to change it or issue a refund. I contacted Ruka Coffee and explained what happened, and the owner/staff member went above and beyond by personally delivering my order to me, even though I was 15–20 minutes away. He even remade my coffee! I was honestly so impressed by their kindness and incredible customer service. I really thought I’d have to forgo my order, so I truly appreciate them going out of their way to help. Amazing service and such a thoughtful team! Highly recommend Ruka Coffee! ❤ great coffee and their butter chicken wrap is delicious!“

“Went here for a morning coffee & Matcha Latte this morning. They had a great selection of bagged coffee from different roasteries which was great to see such selection! I picked up a bag of beans and got a delicious Thom Bargen Tolima drip coffee that hit the spot!
Went 1/2 sweet on my wife’s matcha which was perfect! I really appreciated the options the barista provided for the drinks as well! Great spot, worth checking out!“

This place should be a top of list destination but poor marketing has left it struggling to find customers. That and VCC could do with some useful signage and directories so first time visitors don't have to tour the campus to find the restaurant.“

“Highly recommend! Such a cozy place. Every visit is a great experience. The staff is welcoming, and the coffee is great. They have amazing sandwiches, scones, cookies, and salads, and during the colder months, they also offer soup, which is always a nice treat. I also love their lemon cake, although I preferred it when it was a plain lemon cake without the raspberries. It's still delicious, but I miss the original version. A wonderful spot for a quick lunch, coffee, or a sweet treat!“

“Beth is one of the kindest people I know, and has created a great community hub. She initiated setting up Leg-In-Boot Square live music, with picnic tables and patio umbrellas. She does many good works, and helps many people. AND her baking & cooking are fabulous. The view is great, too.“

“Such a sweet little spot in Chinatown neighborhood! Was greeted with such a warm team of staff, especially the owner who’s very friendly and funny guy ahah. It looks pretty small from the outside but it’s actually spacious and very cozy inside. They make their own sandwiches and wraps, and everything I tried has been really good and never disappoints. The lemon-berry loaf slice I had was so good too!! My partner has been a regular there for a while, and going in for the first time with him, I could see why he keeps coming back.

“Deja Brew has the best sandwiches and wraps in the area! The Chicken Diablo is delicious, and so filling! My office orders lunch from here at least once a week, and it's always a hit. Their cookies and baked goods are all enormous, and so good. The staff is also so genuinely friendly, and know many of their customers by name. Deja Brew is always a great lunch experience.“

“I had the most delicious rice pudding ; an underated nutricious desert was prepared here to perfection . I needed a light meal but I craved icecream on a hot August day and it was just perfect, served with a big smile. It’s a spacious corner caffe that could do better with a bit of creative Interior design intervention that would add some character. However, it was pleasent and clean and they had much more on the menu that Im looking forward to try.“

The London fog has a balanced tea and milk taste, a little sweet since they add sweetener by default. They also leave the tea bag in my cup.

Chocolate banana Croffle is pretty good, it’s a croissant pressed into waffle shape. A little hard to cut the croissant, but the flavor is good.“

“We did a tour of different coffee shops on our trip to Vancouver and Pallet Coffee Roasters may have been one of my favorites. I opted for a pour over of their West Arsi beans and the coffee was perfectly roasted and the pour over brewed up a downright sensational cup of coffee.

My wife went with an iced latte with oat milk and raved about how good it was. Plenty of indoor seats available and the staff was friendly, attentive and efficient. All in all, a really great coffee shop and would head back in an instant to try one of their other pour over options.“
