“Loveliest little shop that serves delicious pastries, sandwiches, soups, specialty beverages, etc. There are also Italian groceries and tons of beautiful treats. It's so cozy and warm, and currently beautifully decorated for Christmas; a highlight this time of year is the eggnog latte, perfectly foamed and spiced. Every team member I've dealt with over the past few days during my visit here from Ontario has been lovely, kind, and accommodating, and if I lived here, you can be sure I'd be a regular at this warm and inviting neighbourhood spot. Thanks to all for a wonderful experience.“

“I’m struggling to eat out at many places in BC, since I’m on ketogenic diet currently. This amazing cafe was able to accommodate my needs! The salad came really fresh, and they also have an unsweetened macadamia milk for latte. I enjoyed the coffee so much, which doesn’t happen often in Canada. Great service too!“

“I have been here a few times now. Both times I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my drink. Today I got the vanilla late with oat milk (pictured,) and last time I got the matcha late. Both delicious!

I find this cafe has a cozy atmosphere, it is just tucked off of Lonsdale. It’s always been quick to get my caffeine drinks here, they also have a selection of sodas and food.

“First time here this weekend as we are from across the water and we will be back every time we visit the big city now. From the amazing customer service including how sweet and genuine they were to a regular in front us helping him locate his umbrella to the exceptional warm and friendly service we received as well. “The vibe here is really nice. It's located in a small cozy place, and the store has a raw wood feel to it.

I've never had JJ Bean before, and I came in looking for a quick snack to enjoy by the beach.

The maple pecan cookie was scrumptious.

Soft cookie with hints of smoky maple and the crunch from the pecan in every bite are stunning. I would come here for the cookie alone.

Service was quick and friendly.

Again, I liked the atmosphere because of its natural feeling.

“The staff is so disrespectful! We arrived at this place around 12:35pm and the hostess said they would have a 35 min wait list. We said ok, got our names in the wait list and left. After 35 min I came back for a time check and the hostess said more 30 min wait. We have a toddler and 1 hour wait would be too much for the toddler. I asked to talk to the manager but the hostess said there was no manager on duty that day. I insisted since that wouldn't make any sense. After begging to talk to the person in charge, finally someone showed up. The manager was even more disrespectful than the hostess - she kept this ironic smile all the time and said that the hostess removed our names from the list by mistake but nothing could be done, not even offer us the top of the wait list and we had to go to the bottom of the list again. She also said they were doing the best they could - I left without saying a word since keep discussing was just pointless - when I walk out the door I just heard "and please don't come back". Just don't come here.“

“Such a lovely cozy place with warm and friendly staff. Location was very convenient in the Park and Telford shopping square with plenty free parking. Inside, decorated warm and natural with chairs, high chairs, sofa chairs. There was a semi-private room and an outside patio face to Park and Telford garden. Our latte was served in a nicely art and in a mug. Matcha cookie was well balanced in suger and nuts. There was some cold sandwiches, juices and water as well as donuts as well.“

This wonderful ice cream parlor and coffee shop is under new ownership.
What a surprisingly wonderful selection of all home made goodies and treats!
The ice cream is made in house, and the owner tells me that over two pounds of fruit goes into each batch! The ice cream comes in every possible flavour you could ask for, including gelato's, and vegan and dairy or sugar free to accommodate the widest variety of needs.“

“Great cafe with light bites after hiking! The food definitely taste healthier here. The avocado toast and daily soup was simple but delicious. I'm obsessed with the marmalade that they give you (not too sweet or bitter). The charcuterie we got was of high quality ingredients. Meats were not too salty. Waffle we got was light. Would recommend if you're looking for a clean and light meal. The interior was bright and comfortable and perfect for after hike spot.“

“We often come here for breakfast on the weekend. There is usually a line up but take a deep breath and admire the view while you wait. Quality takes time, and if you order food you should expect to wait a few minutes if it needs cooking/heating. This is definitely worth the visit and is in the middle of a happening community hub.“

“This is my 3rd day in a row getting a morning latte here. I noticed a subtle caramel flavor and saw that they use 49th Parallel coffee beans! Quality beans really do make all the difference. Out of the three cafes I’ve visited near Deep Cove, this one serves the absolute best coffee!!“

“Barrio is one of the better places to get your coffee in Vancouver and if you live or are anywhere in North Van, this is a place you definitely want to go. Coffee is reasonably priced and there is seating inside to enjoy your coffee (appropriately safe during Covid restrictions). The cafe also sells beans if you need beans for home. P.s if you’re an Aussie or a Kiwi you’ll love it as Barrio is run by an Aussie, so you can expect good standards.“

“This is my first time here. I tried the food and had a coffee. They were a touch, pricey, but then what isn't these days. The service was excellent. There was only one guy serving, but he did an amazing job. So I guess one should compliment the kitchen staff as well.“

“We had our wedding here and they were absolutely amazing. We had a medical emergency during the wedding and the staff were attentive, and handled everything with sensitivity. They helped make a hard time a little easier. It was also the best wedding food I’ve ever had and several other guests came and told me the same thing. The bartender, Logan, was absolutely phenomenal and our guests absolutely loved him. Overall, a really great and positive experience!“
