“Loveliest little shop that serves delicious pastries, sandwiches, soups, specialty beverages, etc. There are also Italian groceries and tons of beautiful treats. It's so cozy and warm, and currently beautifully decorated for Christmas; a highlight this time of year is the eggnog latte, perfectly foamed and spiced. Every team member I've dealt with over the past few days during my visit here from Ontario has been lovely, kind, and accommodating, and if I lived here, you can be sure I'd be a regular at this warm and inviting neighbourhood spot. Thanks to all for a wonderful experience.“

“I have been here a few times now. Both times I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my drink. Today I got the vanilla late with oat milk (pictured,) and last time I got the matcha late. Both delicious!

I find this cafe has a cozy atmosphere, it is just tucked off of Lonsdale. It’s always been quick to get my caffeine drinks here, they also have a selection of sodas and food.

And of course, friendly staff :)“

“Modern and quaint all at the same time. JJ Bean is an oasis in the middle of all the hustle and bustle. Really good coffee and other beverages. Very friendly staff who truly value their customers! It's more than just a coffee shop, it's a little community within a community. Be sure to visit!“

“QAe brought in multiple hangry chaos kids and ordered a ton of food with substitutions and tweaks to how the food gets plated (to appease the various kid idiosynchracies) - and the staff was friendly, understanding, and so incredibly patient with us. On top of all of that, the food came out perfectly as we'd requested, and it was all delicious.
While they may look like the kind of trendy cutesy place that might end up valuing appearance over service, the knocked it out of the park.“

“People writing 2 star reviews here need to get a life I mean what more do you seriously need?! This is a small business, the service was friendly and kind, the cabinets absolutely stocked with savoury & sweet food that all looks delicious! I had the breakfast bagel and a biscotti, which was so friggen yummy! Their coffee is also beautiful, nice flavourful roast, perfect extraction (golden creama on top) brilliant. And the whole cafe was vibing. People enjoying themselves, the place was lovely! Inside and outside! I didn't struggle to find a spot, Plenty of parking. Affordable.

“The staff is so disrespectful! We arrived at this place around 12:35pm and the hostess said they would have a 35 min wait list. We said ok, got our names in the wait list and left. After 35 min I came back for a time check and the hostess said more 30 min wait. We have a toddler and 1 hour wait would be too much for the toddler. I asked to talk to the manager but the hostess said there was no manager on duty that day. I insisted since that wouldn't make any sense. After begging to talk to the person in charge, finally someone showed up. The manager was even more disrespectful than the hostess - she kept this ironic smile all the time and said that the hostess removed our names from the list by mistake but nothing could be done, not even offer us the top of the wait list and we had to go to the bottom of the list again. She also said they were doing the best they could - I left without saying a word since keep discussing was just pointless - when I walk out the door I just heard "and please don't come back". Just don't come here.“

“First time here this weekend as we are from across the water and we will be back every time we visit the big city now. From the amazing customer service including how sweet and genuine they were to a regular in front us helping him locate his umbrella to the exceptional warm and friendly service we received as well. Also amazing coffee and treats!“

“This JJ Bean location is easily one of our favorite coffee shops. We’ve been coming here for quite some time, and the coffee, food, and service are consistently excellent.
The staff are always friendly and welcoming. A special shout-out to Dan, who always makes our visits even better.

“The vibe here is really nice. It's located in a small cozy place, and the store has a raw wood feel to it.

I've never had JJ Bean before, and I came in looking for a quick snack to enjoy by the beach.

The maple pecan cookie was scrumptious.

Soft cookie with hints of smoky maple and the crunch from the pecan in every bite are stunning. I would come here for the cookie alone.

Service was quick and friendly.

Again, I liked the atmosphere because of its natural feeling.

Overall, this location is a really neat coffee place that has potential.“

“Honestly, the BEST vegan ice cream I've had on the north shore!!! Five stars!

This wonderful ice cream parlor and coffee shop is under new ownership.
What a surprisingly wonderful selection of all home made goodies and treats!
The ice cream is made in house, and the owner tells me that over two pounds of fruit goes into each batch! The ice cream comes in every possible flavour you could ask for, including gelato's, and vegan and dairy or sugar free to accommodate the widest variety of needs.“

“I love this place, they have everything and it's delicious and made well. My sons loves the food. The appearance of the store is always very inviting as well as the staff is considerate and kind to customers. I wish thier were more stores that provide quality products such as Stongs.“

“Great cafe with light bites after hiking! The food definitely taste healthier here. The avocado toast and daily soup was simple but delicious. I'm obsessed with the marmalade that they give you (not too sweet or bitter). The charcuterie we got was of high quality ingredients. Meats were not too salty. Waffle we got was light. Would recommend if you're looking for a clean and light meal. The interior was bright and comfortable and perfect for after hike spot.“

“I come here all the time and they are always amazing, but they seriously went above and beyond this time! I completely forgot my wallet and only had an American Express card, which they don’t accept, and they were kind enough to give me my food on the house. 🥹

Then, to top it all off, I realized I had forgotten my headphones and came back later — they had safely kept them behind the counter for me!

“Barrio is one of the better places to get your coffee in Vancouver and if you live or are anywhere in North Van, this is a place you definitely want to go. Coffee is reasonably priced and there is seating inside to enjoy your coffee (appropriately safe during Covid restrictions). The cafe also sells beans if you need beans for home. P.s if you’re an Aussie or a Kiwi you’ll love it as Barrio is run by an Aussie, so you can expect good standards.“

“We often come here for breakfast on the weekend. There is usually a line up but take a deep breath and admire the view while you wait. Quality takes time, and if you order food you should expect to wait a few minutes if it needs cooking/heating. This is definitely worth the visit and is in the middle of a happening community hub.“

“Park is very nice. Do not use phone mobile park website posted in car parking lot. It is a scam to sign you on an online subscription gaming site. Very surprised the park allows this. Needs to change.“

“Stopped by for a quick coffee after work on a weeknight and they let my dog curl up right under the table on the patio, no fuss at all. The staff brought out a little water bowl without me even asking, which honestly made my whole week. Got the maple oat latte and it was so good I almost forgot I was sitting outside in September. Quiet, relaxed vibe around 6pm, definitely my new go-to spot when I've got the dog with me.“
