“Went here for the first time last week after hearing about this restaurant. It was amazing, it is a very nice and well run mom and pop type pasta restaurant. The staff were very attentive and friendly, and the food was amazing! We left and thought to ourselves “wow, we could not have asked for a better experience!” We will absolutely be back!“

“The staff is so disrespectful! We arrived at this place around 12:35pm and the hostess said they would have a 35 min wait list. We said ok, got our names in the wait list and left. After 35 min I came back for a time check and the hostess said more 30 min wait. We have a toddler and 1 hour wait would be too much for the toddler. I asked to talk to the manager but the hostess said there was no manager on duty that day. I insisted since that wouldn't make any sense. After begging to talk to the person in charge, finally someone showed up. The manager was even more disrespectful than the hostess - she kept this ironic smile all the time and said that the hostess removed our names from the list by mistake but nothing could be done, not even offer us the top of the wait list and we had to go to the bottom of the list again. She also said they were doing the best they could - I left without saying a word since keep discussing was just pointless - when I walk out the door I just heard "and please don't come back". Just don't come here.“

“The food here was absolutely spectacular. Probably the best Iranian food I've ever had.

The eggplant dip (kashk bademjan) was without a doubt the best iteration of the dish I've eaten in my life - it was an incredible start, and my family members who were totally unfamiliar with Iranian food were blown away. The tanoor bread was fresh and delicious, and a perfect accompaniment to the dip.

The grilled meats were all delicious, but the sour filet kebab was the absolute knockout winner. Everyone at the table loved it. Sweet, sour, savory, and beyond tasty.

The ghormeh sabzi was rich and homey, with tender meat in a fragrant herby sauce.

I would go back here in a heartbeat. I would come back to North Van explicitly for this restaurant.“

“Fishworks has been one of our favourite seafood restaurants on the North Shore for the past decade. We visited recently, and we’re happy to say that under the new ownership and management, the food and service remain outstanding! The house wine was excellent too. Always a pleasure to dine here!“

“Great cafe with light bites after hiking! The food definitely taste healthier here. The avocado toast and daily soup was simple but delicious. I'm obsessed with the marmalade that they give you (not too sweet or bitter). The charcuterie we got was of high quality ingredients. Meats were not too salty. Waffle we got was light. Would recommend if you're looking for a clean and light meal. The interior was bright and comfortable and perfect for after hike spot.“

“It was our first visit to this restaurant but not the last. We found this place by chance. We were starving and did not have a lot of time as we had to catch ferry. the staff person was very polite and understanding about it and our dinner was served super quick. Everything that we had ordered was delicious. My husband and I did not expect it to be this good. the staff person was very respectful. I ate good authentic Indian food after a long time. If you happen to be in North Vancouver and craving for Indian food, this is a place to go to. Nice family run restaurant. We will surely be there next time I am in North Van.“

“It is always a delight to dine at Hachi Hana! I am a huge fan of sashimi, and oh my goodness, the sashimi here is absolutely superb! The freshness, quality, and wonderful variety you get in a single order are truly impressive. The don is equally delicious! Every visit is such a pleasure, and the food never disappoints. “Since we don't have any of these restaurants on Vancouver Island anymore, I encouraged my wife to come here for breakfast before we leave the mainland. She knows how much I love pannekoeken due to my Dutch heritage. The meals were just fine as we stuck to traditional pannekoeken, so no fault there. Lost a mark for service since the server came by to ask if we wanted a refill on our coffee, but I wasn't ready just yet. The server didn't come by again, so $4 for a single cup of coffee is a little ridiculous. The server did return to the table next to us to offer a refill, but didn't bother asking us.“

The atmosphere is fantastic, the waterfront views are gorgeous, and there is always such a wonderful energy about the place. And the best part? “I am a foodie and this restaurant is currently my favorite place to eat. Bar none, the Laksa is the best I have ever had and all of the dishes are so consistently delicious. “Came here for a casual meal and unfortunately the experience was just okay. We ordered the fish & chips and burger with onion rings.

The portions were pretty good, but the food didn’t taste as fresh as I was hoping. The fish batter looked crispy, but overall the fish and fries were just average. The burger was okay, and the onion rings were crispy, but nothing really stood out.

The biggest issue was the service being quite slow. We waited longer than expected for our food, and the overall experience felt a little disappointing considering what we ordered.

Not terrible, but I think the freshness of the food and speed of service could definitely be improved. Hopefully it will be better next time.“

“A go to for Cantonese cuisine in the North Vancouver area. We arrived around 8pm and were quickly seated. The staff was very attentive and our food was prepared with haste. We ordered the wonton soup, mushrooms with mixed vegetables and sweet and sour chicken. It all hit the spot. If I lived in the area I would frequent this restaurant often.“

“My kids and I really love coming here for pizza! We live nearby, so we come pretty often. You pick the pizza you want, and they warm it up in the wood-fired oven. It comes out hot and crispy, and it tastes so good when you eat it right away!

“Ming's is great. In a time where prices for food is sky high Ming's will give you a meal for $50 that all others want $70+. Consistent quality. Good picks are the wonton soup, deep fried prawns, and beef and broccoli (which conveniently happen to be in a set meal). Hope they stay in business forever.“
